🦖🦕 Tango, you are one brave dog! 🦕🦖 😂
Tawarawa Ryokan in Kyoto costs between US$1,000 to $1,500 for a human couple.
Because of the global fame of Fido Field Trips, we are getting the lodging, food, and the incredible in-depth fursonal service - all free!
"Tawaraya has been operating for more than three centuries and is ONE OF THE FINEST PLACES TO STAY IN THE WORLD.(!) From the decorations to the service to the food, every thing at the Tawaraya is simply the best available. It’s a very intimate, warm and personal place."(LonelyPlanet)
"With over 300 years in the business, this is one of the oldest ryokan in Kyoto....The inn prides itself most on its famous service, which goes above and beyond that of which is expected. Guests who stay at Tawaraya will experience true hospitality, and will feel more like royalty than customers. Everything is of the highest standard and the inn makes no compromises in terms of providing their guests with the finest food and service. The amenities provided are of the highest quality to provide a truly homely and welcoming environment."(Japanican.com)

"... Slipper-polished corridors pass lanterned pools; hand-laced bamboo, a ladle's rest. Silent sliding Shojis open to tatami tradition- this is a place preserved for rituals of respect."
OUR HOSTS GREET US:
"Your individual kimono-ed maidservant will help you acclimatize. No language need be spoken, this is a shrine of perfection guardianed by intelligent sensitive souls - everything is understood. You will be guided by the graciousness of the bows; slippers will appear as you instinctively leave your shoes and your ego at the door."
"As there are, at first, no visible concessions to recent centuries, you will be surprised to find a television set hidden beneath an obi cloth cover; a telephone is similarly concealed. There is a modern sink and a western toilet with a heated seat, sterilized glasses and toothbrushes, even bathroom scales."
OUR ATTENTIVE STAFF:
BREAKFAST:
They serve American breakfast items if you purrfur:
Then we can shop at the ryokan’s own TAWARAYA GIFT SHOP :
"Dinner is a six-course masterpiece of one exquisitely presented dish after another- a celebration of Japanese classics."
(I do not know what these foods are--they are photos which guests at Tawarawa posted. For a more in-depth description of the food served there, see the article I linked in my next post.)
DESSERT:
Afterwards,
“soaking in the steaming cedar ofuro you will quickly recall why you're here":
"After your bath, select from the immaculate stock of folded kimono and with paper and pen, gazing out at your lantern-lit garden, you too might phrase a few surprising thoughts.
Now the lacquered table and brocade armrests move down-stage as your maid unfolds the foam futon and the tatami becomes bed":
From the article in my next post:
“I crawled into the futon and found that it was incredibly luxurious. Tawaraya is famous for their bedding and now I knew why. The fabric on the futon was some impossibly fine cotton and the shiki-buton (mattress) was much thicker than any futon I’d ever slept on. I made a mental note to ask where they get their futons made.” 😴
“The garden lantern calligraphs a maple branch on the shoji; serenity approaches. In all things, luxury is simplicity; at The Tawaraya, simplicity is sublime."

Dallas, I only arranged for us to spend a couple of days at that marvelous hotel, so can look forward to a new place to travel to now.
Before we leave, I do want to point out the difference between that hotel, and these capsule hotels which Japan has. They are economical and efficient. But I think we would fit into these capsule hotels better than our humans would.

Oh Ætheling this is all so wonderful! Thank you, thank you!! Funny, at our public services meeting yesterday, we had to break into teams and present and try to sell an idea (which was given to us and was supposed to be terrible!) Our team had to see the idea of getting rid of library cards and the other team had to sell the idea of replacing the computers in one of our computer rooms with capsule hotels! Mommy read and loved the book, Memoirs of a Geisha. Has anyone else read it? Ætheling we are so looking forward to our next adventure! You are awesome!!

Dallas, when Meowmie went tu da student's place she had ta take off her shoes an' he gave her slippers. Do mew really fink a student who came tu our place would dare tell Meowmie ta take off her shoes? I can't imagine my Meowmie sleeping in one av dose tiny boxes, cages, or whattefur dey are! But I could sleep in one quite comfurtably. I can see how dey need dat dere wif deir ofurcrowding!
