Well, mom made a post on FB this morning that was very hard to make. And the decision that went along with it was about as hard as deciding to help a pup to the rainbow bridge. Maybe harder, because at least then you know you are helping a pup not to suffer. Mom has decided we need to re-home Finn for a couple of reasons. 1. He is just a little too young and energetic for me. Well, technically I don't mind, but mom has concerns. She has tried to get us to play gently, but rough housing is fun. My spinal injury from earlier in the year is causing problems though, Mom is seeing me more wobbly at times and turning my paws under again at times and she is very concerned that I will get hurt again and won't be so lucky in my recovery the next time. 2. He has gone after Cheeky a couple of times. The first time Cheeky was getting up on the bed - he was already up there - and mom saw it coming and put a stop to it. The other time was last night. Cheeky sniffed his bed on the floor and he attacked her. Mom had to pull him off Cheeky, who was screeching. She was already a bit afraid of him, but now is terrified. He may have left part of a treat in his bed. I don't know. He is bad to take it from mom and want to save it for later. Even if there was a treat there we just can't have that. Everyone needs to be safe. Mom has been trying to get him on more walks and play more fetch. She tried working on some general training some yesterday, too, to help wear him out. But he is young and has lots more energy than mom. BOL Mom feels soooo guilty for making this decision and feels like she has failed Finn. But she feels like she is failing me and Cheeky if she keeps him. Mom has cried and just hopes everything will turn out for the best. She hopes that Finn can find an active family that maybe has bigger dogs he can play with. Dogs without injuries to be worried about. I've got to go help Cheeky feel safer now and help lick mom's tears away. Cheeky has been so upset she's not even doing that. And trust me, Cheeky likes to cover mom in spit. BOL

Thanks Clarabelle and Angels Hershey & Winkie grouphugsmly Finn will surely be happier in a home where he can play and be energetic all he wants. And Cheeky will be happier with a quiet home again. Me, I think I will miss Finn.

I do like kitties. I like it when they chase me. And they play a little more gently than Finn. Mom has has a friend who has done a lot with a rescue group. They are going to post Finn and we are going to act as a foster family while they help find him a good home. But after he has a new home maybe we will think about a kitty again. It is probably a much better option for us right now. Don't think we will do it while he is here though.

Pippi, I agree with everyfur else. You and Cheeky come first. I'm sure Finn will find a good home, maybe one that he is the only dog. I'm sure he will be happy whatever it is and ya'll will be more relaxed. Tell mom not to feel bad.

Pippi, we agree with everyfur. Finn will be ok. Your mommy tried but you and Cheeky are first. Like with Pooks and me. Mommy at times have had to herd the grandsons out of a room because they couldn't behave and got rowdy. Sometimes us pups go to mommy's bedroom also to get away and be safer. Mommy always tells the boys be very careful around the doggies and don't step on their feet. We are her first concern. The cats most of the time stay away from the boys. The boys are good but all us furs have our ways and don't want to be bothered.

Thanks everyone. grouphugsmly Mom really appreciates the moral support. Mom has been in touch with a rescue group that is going to list Finn (Hershey) on a couple of sites like petfinder.com. Hopefully with their help the perfect family can be found for him. One where he can be energetic and no one has to worry about getting hurt. I hope that wasn't a repeat. Seems like I've been saying a lot of the same things in multiple places today.

Finn got to go on another good walk today. He's getting to go on all the walks. I don't think that is fair. Mom says it is to get rid of some of his energy but I think all she is doing is getting rid of her own. He comes back with plenty of energy left. And speaking of Finn, he has gone after me twice this morning. He must really be feeling stressed and is resource guarding. He was guarding an empty bowl this morning. Sheesh! Mom has been feeding him in the bathroom with the door shut. She opened it to let him out and pick up his bowl and I ran in ahead of her. He tried to go after me but mom stopped it. Then after he and mom got back from their 2.4 mile walk this morning they came in and headed to the kitchen. He got a drink of water. Then I walked in the kitchen and he tried to go after me. Over a water bowl! There was no food down anywhere. So mom is hoping the rescue group that is going to list him will hurry up and do that and fingers someone great will see him right away. Sadly since the rescue group is based out of MO and we live in TN they don't have another foster home in this area he can go to. The good news is mom also played some fetch with Finn and he is finally ready for a nap.

Pippi, sounds like Finn will need to be separated from you girls and that is too bad. But your mommy can't take any chances. Hope a suitable family comes along for him soon!!!
