Dee, the hat and booties are precious! I like that the booties are different styles as well as different colors.
Laura, Toby is suggesting that you make big batches of treats then invite all the puppies over to share them!

Dee those booties are adorable and congrats on getting the picture posted! You are not at all stupid! I agree with Laura! Tell them how good it made you feel!
Anick, good idea to forget how the first one made you feel! Hope you're feeling back to normal!
Laura l once made treats for a friend's dogs and they were all moldy by the time she got them, so l totally understand your concern!
Leslie, Toby has a great idea!

Good morning everyone Happy Wednesday Laura they did not mention anything about me staying home because of the rain catching up on lost sleep. Di did call me last night at home to see if I was available to pick her up from Toyota on Friday at 9 am and take her back in the afternoon when her car was ready. Nice to be asked whereas when Rosemarie wants to go somewhere she just tells me. Her car had a recall and it is the day she doesn't have to pick up her grandson from school. I told her no problem I have nothing on the calendar for Friday will mark it down picking her up and taking her back. The power company sending a man out tomorrow Thursday afternoon to replace my gas meter they have to get inside to make sure any appliance using gas works with the replaced meter requested I wear a mask inside since their man is wearing a mask. Said no charge to me but they have to replace meters every 15 years mandatory if I don't my service could be cut off. Also today taking the girls to the groomer so their annals can be expressed I think Dallas is having problems with hers the way she acts and they will be looking good when my nephew and his family come to visit. Anick sorry your second dose is not till September I thought we only had to wait a month for ours. I understand you about the treats not lasting as long heck the bread in the stores are now made without preservatives and they go moldy pretty quickly. Nice of you to make home made treats for the pups. With our health issues only allowed certain food mommy doesn't make treats for us Lisa thank you for the compliment on the booties and Di and Rosemarie said nothing about me staying home guess they have to get use to it won't be long and I won't be going at all. Leslie mommy used the same pattern for both booties just changed colors and on the one added a top trim that was not on the pattern. Thank you for the compliment. When my nephew and his family come I am giving them these two pink outfits and the one yellow outfit I have made let her give it to the girls whenever they have babies in case I am not alive when they get married to have children they will have something I made. Hey we are finally hitting 79 today Hugs to all Dee, Tori & Dallas

My friend usually makes frozen treats with those silicone things, something with yogurt and fruits. I always make treats for my dogs but I always keep them frozen and I only take out of the freezer what I will need for the day, I have never wasted any doing that.
Dee, everything you do is always so pretty!!!

Leslie, a puppy party sounds like a lot of fun. Frankly I could use one today. Lisa, I'll plan to refrigerate or freeze treats if there are too many. And I won't ask Pippi or Cheeky how many are too many. hehe. I'm guessing if I make them crunchier they might last longer than softer (moister) ones. But I kind of wanted soft treats for Cheeky. Maybe I can do half batches or something and make some crunchy and some soft. Dee, I'm glad no mention was made of your staying home. Maybe a sign that you could do it more often and not have to hear about it. And I'm with you, I would much rather be asked than told. It can make a big difference in how I feel about something. I'm glad you will be able to help her. No fun sitting around the dealership waiting the whole time. I had my gas meter replaced a year or two ago. I have no idea how old mine was. The only thing I have on gas is the water heater, but I was happy they were the ones to relight that rather than me. Hope the girls enjoy their spa day. Well, everything but the expressing. That might not be fun. I think health issues for the dogs is part of why I want to try and make some treats. That way I can pick ingredients that may be better suited to them and their health and avoid others if wanted. It does get hard when they are on special diets. I think that is neat that you are thinking ahead with the baby gifts. And what a nice surprise that will be, especially if you are not around then. My niece got some jewelry for her 18th birthday I think it was. Can't remember if it was a necklace or bracelet, but it was from her paternal grandmother who had passed away a few years prior. It was really touching and unexpected. Anick, do your treats thaw pretty quickly? And hmm. Frozen treats sound like a good idea for hot summer days. My day is so off today. I didn't sleep well last night. Couldn't get to sleep despite being tired. My mind was dwelling on things. My dad has not been feeling well lately - tires very easily, and he is starting to think his days are numbered. I am certainly hoping not, but couldn't stop thinking about it last night. Thought I would sleep in a little this morning, but the city had other ideas bringing big equipment down the street and jackhammering. Ugh. Then I got a text from a family I used to be a nanny for. I had been with them for nearly 10 years and still think of those kids as partially mine. Anyway, the mother sent me a message to let me know the daughter, who turned 30 in March, had died. It was quite unexpected. It has thrown me for a loop, and I can't begin to imagine how her parents and brother feel. So at the moment I feel almost like I am living in a snow globe that a toddler has hold of. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Wow, I am sorry for all of the upsetting news, Laura. I hope you can get some sleep so your body can process your emotions.
Dee, you are so smart to think ahead!
No matter how delicious the treat sounded to me, my boys would not eat ones that I made. Picky little snobs.

Laura- That is some shocking news! I can't imagine how her family must feel & you as well. I still have not even began to get over finding out about my ex committing suicide & an old friend being murdered in his home. News like this will throw you for a loop for sure! I hope your dad is ok.
Alot of things in my area have not been working right lately. People have complained the gas pumps don't work at certain stations. Alot of people have been having phone & internet issues. Verizon was having trouble in my area yesterday. My work computer has been acting up big time for the last 2 days no matter what I do. I am starting to get real fed up. I don't know how I'll make it through the next 2 days.
I am supposed to work Saturday. I know I won't feel like it, but I feel like I need to. The Division Secretary is off today. She will be off all next week. I'm in charge today & I will be all of next week. I really do not need this stress right now!

Good morning everyone!
Ginger, I am sorry for all the stress! I have to work this weekend, too. Hopefully, it won't be too awful!
Laura, I am so sorry to hear your 30-year-old charge has passed away! Hugs to you and her family!
Leslie, sometimes Clarabelle will turn her nose up at something, but then when Ranger or Sparkle try to get it, she is suddenly very interested!!
Carol, what kinds of treats did you make and did you keep them refrigerated?
Anick, I made frozen treats once, with yogurt and bananas ab=nd peasnut butter. They were NOT interested!!
Dee, we think something that you made is the best gift of all!!

Carol, did you have a good easy recipe for treats that you liked? Leslie, I got a little nap this evening, and I suspect I will crash tonight. I still feel pretty wiped out. And I still can't believe the young lady is gone. Hmm. My pups have not turned their nose up at much. An orange is the only thing I can think of that they walked away from. Well, that and anything hiding a heartworm pill when Cheeky was young. The things that girl could eat and still spit out the pill. What a stinker. Thankfully she takes all her medication well now. Ginger, I guess the shock when it is unexpected makes it harder to take in. If there is a long illness or something like that at least we have time to prepare ourselves or we can think they have had a release from the pain and suffering. And in cases like yours where it is murder or suicide ... how do you ever understand the senseless loss. I guess in a way suicide is a release of pain and suffering of another sort, but still hard to understand. Anyway, the girl's parents are really struggling with this. They keep looking back to see what they might have missed before that would have been a clue this was coming. In her case it was an unexpected health issue. As far as my dad goes, I feel better about that today than I did last night. I really don't think his time is near. But if he wants to prepare just in case, that isn't a bad thing to make sure someone else knows about all the bills and such to make sure everything is taken care of. I just didn't want to think about my parents aging and time marching on. But as I was reminded this morning things can happen quickly sometimes and age doesn't always play into it. Ginger, remind me what state or area you live in? Are the gas pump problems related to the gas shortage in the east? My sister in NC was saying last week that they were having a lot of trouble finding a station that had gas. Haven't asked her about it this week. We have seen minor shortages here in east TN. Luckily I am not doing a lot of driving around right now and my gas is lasting a good while. As for the rest of the oddities ... have you entered the twilight zone? hehe. Hope things are settling down and getting back to normal. And I hope Saturday can be an easy day at work. Do you find there is less stress on the weekends? Or is it just as crazy? Lisa, too funny about Clarabelle not being interested in treats until someone else is. I think you could certainly get Pippi to eat something that way. Then again it usually isn't hard to get Pippi to eat something anyway. hehe. I've mixed things in with yogurt to eat, but never froze it. I used to mix in some peanut butter and a tiny bit of honey with plain yogurt. I ate it along with the dogs. Wonder why they don't make peanut butter yogurt. Homemade gifts do have that personal touch. - Laura

Good morning everyone Happy Thursday Laura sorry you were unable to sleep with your dad fingering his day is nearby and to hear the shocking news about the charge you had only 30 years old dying. Like my niece was only 38 when she died her problem was drinking and leaving behind 2 small boys who now reside with my brother in Dayton Oh. Then my ex boss Lisa committing suicide that was so unexpected with how she lived no one saw that coming not even her best friend. The ones committing suicide think it will solve their problem but they don't realize the ones they love living causes a lot of problems for them. And far as your dad he is close visit him as much as you can as life does do unexpected things. Me on the other hand knew when Ward was diagnosed with dementia it was a death sentence and he slowly died each day for 7 years. Losing a dear friend or relative is hard even for parents when parents feel they should be going before their children. Anick thanks for your compliment Pooks I tried one time making treats for my dogs with a recipe a dogster friend gave me but it was a failure I threw it out. Toby thanks I try to plan and think ahead sometimes it does not work Ginger my friend in Florida told me there was a heck on the gasoline pipeline that was why their was a gas shortage and once the gasoline pipeline paid the ransom then the gas pipes started running again so bad when hackers can cause problems like this and get away with it they could cause a complete shutdown on everything run by computers till they get money and we would all be suffering since everything nowadays is done by computers. Sorry you have to work Saturday though you are in no mood to work. We know how rough it was for you to hear the shocking news about your ex and a schoolmate getting murdered. Not something one can ever forget Lisa thanks for the compliment. A girl I am friends with on Facebook that went to grade school with me from 1st to 7th grade we were able to connect through facebook. We both had red hair and played after school. She posted a picture of a beautiful museum with flowers I asked her where she said it was in Sarasota Florida I told her I was moving back to Florida in October she said if I get to Tampa to let her know she would love to get together and have lunch it has been years since we saw each other in person I think we were a sophomore in high school she went to a different high school but all schools gathered for a parade and she looked me up and we talked for a few minutes then lost touch. Tampa is only a few hours from Ocala so I will try and get to see her maybe I can talk my sister to going to Tampa if we get a house in the first day we are there as she remembers Diane too. Taking Rosemarie grocery shopping at Krogers this morning at 9 since no games as Di has to take her husband to the doctor and I have to be home at noon wait on the gas man. As far as I know only my heater and air conditioner is gas no nothing about water heater but maybe he will be able to tell if the water heater is. Hugs Dee, Tori & Dallas

Laura, yes they thaw in about 30 minutes on the counter top and about 2 hours in the fridge.
I think my boys are like little pigs, they eat anything I make for them but the funny thing is that they refuse to eat any treats I get in the stores unless they are fancy handmade cookies, I get those for their Birthday pawrties when they have their doggy furiends over.

I have had a horrible time at work today figuring out how to amend & post some time. I just got it straight. I am going to give a quick reply to up above.
I feel sort of guilty about my ex. I do wish just once I would have let him know I was there if he wanted to talk, but I was messed up back then myself. He & I felt more like drinking buddies than boyfriend/girlfriend. This "friend" was actually a friend of his that I only met through him. He was a self-centered prick. He got murdered because he owned drug dealers money. He stole my purse back in 2002. I sent him to jail & had no contact since. It is no love loss with him, but finding out about my ex hurt badly.
I live in Birmingham, Alabama. I do not know what is going on, but gas pumps, computers, phones, etc are acting up around here.
I need some humor today. I know the farting contest is in the other thread, but I wanted to post this here. This really is a true story.
Social Security Administration employee reprimanded for farting at work December 23, 2012 | 5:00am
What a windbag.
A Social Security Administration employee was formally reprimanded and accused of “conduct unbecoming a federal officer” — for farting up a storm in his workplace.
The reprimand, issued to a claims authorizer on Dec. 10, includes a detailed log of 60 gassy episodes over 17 days in the agency’s Baltimore office, The Smoking Gun reported.
“I asked if you could make it to the restroom before releasing the awful and unpleasant odor,” a manager wrote. “I informed you that the smell from your being flatulent disturbed your co-workers and disrupted the work environment.”
The employee, identified by the Web site as a 38-year-old Maryland man who handles the agency’s disability claims, tried to finger his gas problem on “some medical conditions.”
The man also provided evidence that his conditions might prevent him from working a full day.
His manager didn’t buy it. “Nothing that you have submitted has indicated that you would have uncontrollable flatulence. It is my belief that you can control this situation.”
The smelly state of affairs was first raised in May when he was told during a performance evaluation that his co-workers were complaining and unwilling to help him with his work.
Three months later, he told a deputy division director that he was lactose intolerant and would buy some Gas-X.
“He asked that you check with your doctor to see if there are other options to help you address your flatulence and that you could not pass gas indefinitely and continue to disrupt the workplace,” the document said.
But whatever action the government worker took, he couldn’t manage to tame the toot.
“You have continued to release the odor and it has become intolerable to work in the module creating a hostile work environment for all your co-workers,” the manager charged.
According to the log, the gas-passer let loose anywhere between once and nine times a day.
There was no indication which worker was assigned to catalogue the stench.
The man even offered to turn on a fan to stanch the stink — but the manager reasoned that “turning on the fan would cause the smell to spread and worsen the air quality in the module.”
The reprimand was the least severe penalty available to make him aware of how serious his actions were. He was warned that he could be fired if fetid incidents continued.
The man was told his behavior was “discourteous, disrespectful, and entirely inappropriate” and could not be tolerated by the agency.
“Disrespectful and unprofessional behavior is unacceptable and detracts from the agency’s ability to maintain a safe, pleasant and productive work environment,” according to the document.
The man, who could not be reached, is being represented by his union, the American Federation of Government Employees.

Some people do have tummy troubles. I don't have the recipe for the doggy biscuits any more. I remember it took peanut butter, egg, oatmeal but can't remember what else. I know it wasn't much. After they baked you left them sit in the oven so they could harden/crisp up some. The dogs loved them.

Dee, 38 seems so young, too. And how leaving behind two young children. I'm sorry alcohol touched all their lives. Because even if those two boys never drink, alcohol robbed them of their mother. Alcohol and suicide - two things I wish we better knew how to treat. And I wish we better knew how to help those left behind. Dementia is another one that affects the whole family. At least when the end comes there we can see it as a release for the loved one from such a cruel disease. Not that it makes it any easier to lose them, but at least we know their suffering has ended. The girl I had taken care of went into cardiac arrest. There had been no known history of problems or issues. We all thought she was young and healthy, and then she was suddenly gone. And you are right, we expect to lose those older than us, but not those younger. Dee, the pipeline hack is kind of scary. And scary to think what else hackers could disrupt. Makes me wish I had solar power and could live largely off the grid. That and had a mattress stuffed with oodles of money. Hmm. My mattress is pretty old and uncomfortable. Wonder if it were stuffed with money if it would be better for sleeping on. hehe. That would be fun and lovely to get to catch up with your childhood friend. I hope that works out where you can in August and your sister can see her, too. I'm sure the when they replace the gas meter they will be able to tell what is on it and what they need to relight. Anick, mine will eat homemade or store bought treats. And I have often called them little piggies. hehe. Ginger, you shouldn't feel guilty about your ex. Sometimes you have to take care of and help yourself before you can help someone else. And if the two of you had been more like drinking buddies, if he had reached out back then you might have both dealt with it by drinking. It's a shame he didn't make different life choices and seek out some help. I wish he could have found the strength and courage to fight his demons and win. I hope in time you can come to peace with it and know he is no longer suffering. Alabama may not have been in on the pipeline hack. Think it was more east coast that was affected, but not sure. Ginger, I needed a laugh, too. Being someone who does not tolerate dairy well, one problem related to it being awful smelling and sometimes a lot of gas, I wonder how the man's boss and co-workers would have felt if he spent a good part of his day in the bathroom. That whole situation stinks. (hehe) Going to be mid 80s here today. And 90s by the weekend and into next week. Guess it will be good weather for pulling out the pressure washer again. Maybe I can get some more done with that this weekend. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)
