Good morning everyone Happy Saturday Carol you are right need to enjoy life and your husband knows he should wear a helmet but doesn't I pray he doesn't ha an accident. Thank you about my cousin. She is in a far better place Laura I know what you mean about wearing sweatshirts and jean and not sweating. I hope Pippi foot is getting better since he is taking power naps. Thank you for the about Cindy. Her niece Vicki cannot take Cindy;s dog which is 9 years old and a pomerian they have a rottie and the two do not get along. My sister unable to take but asked around. I too feel for a dog that has been in one place all of a sudden has to be uprooted so I told Ashley to call a rescue they will take good care of her and get her a good home posting on facebook someone could be getting her and using for dog bait in dog fights. Better a rescue than having animal control take her to a shelter that may be a kill shelter. My goes out to the doggie too. Lisa how did the dental go did any teeth need to be pulled for Ranger? Thank you about Cindy I too feel for her dog Dallas the small pomerian but Ashley told me she would call a rescue in the morning to see if they can help I informed a rescue would be best way to go. Marty sorry you are dealing with a lot of smoke from the Oregon fires. Did the fires from California jump to Oregon and Washington. Makes me think of the bible when God said he would never destroy the earth by flood again but this time by fire and brimstone Leslie are you eyes doing any better. Thank you for you words about Cindy. Well I am still waiting to hear from Miss Dixie Monroe so I can mail her shawl too her I have it finished I added rows like I did for Carols so it would go to the waist. The red yarn should come today so I can finish the chicken hat. Hugs Dee & Tori

Lisa, sending a gentle for Ranger. Did he have many teeth pulled? Dee, yeah, a Pomeranian and a Rottie don't sound like a good mix. I hope they can find a rescue group that will take her. I think poms can live 15 years or so. So she could make someone happy for years. And a pom is a nice small size to cuddle with. If I didn't have four pets (the limit here) and lived closer I would say send her this way. A pom would probably be small enough that Pip and her back would be okay. But alas, I'm at the city limit. Another nice looking shawl. Hopefully you will hear from Miss Dixie Monroe and get her address soon. Then you can get that off to her. My sister's husband's nephew has been doing some research on the family history. Hubby and his family are from Australia. The nephew (still lives in Australia) has been able to trace back to someone who came over on with the First Fleet to Australia, and someone on the Second Fleet. The one on the first fleet was sent there for stealing 3 table cloths and 2 aprons. Not to make light of stealing, but 7 years and transported to a penal colony ... I was surprised. I started reading a little more and seemed like most of the ones where a crime was listed they were mostly petty crimes. And some had originally been sentenced to hang, but it was bumped down to 7 years and transportation. I was never much of a good student when it came to history, but it has been interesting reading some about it. The Second Fleet - sounds like that ancestor was lucky to make it there alive. Nothing much going on at my house this weekend. I should be going through more boxes and things, but I keep hoping it will cool down a little and it will be more comfortable for moving things around. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good afternoon everyone!!
Laura, that is fascinating about being deported for petty crimes!! Things sure were crazy! Although, there is a man who has a medical marijuana card and was arrested in a state that doesn't allow medical marijuana. Crazy!!
Dee, I sure hope the rescues have room for the little guy! We would take him if we could!!
Marty, how is the smoke there? Any improvement?
Kathy, how is Stephen doing? Is he have many more leaking problems?
Anick, how long will it be before you can wear that shawl?
Leslie, how are your eyes doing?
Ranger had four teeth pulled, I think, in looking at his chart. Didn't get to talk to the vet!! But the cost was on the lower side of the estimate, so that made us happy!!

Ach, so much to catch up on that now that I've reached the reply box I can't remember what's going on!
Around here, people wear masks even more than they are required to. I don't know it they are trying to be extra, extra good or if they are afraid, but they do. When Toby and I socialize outside, we are all two leash-lengths from other pet parents, so we are properly distanced. So far no students have gotten sick, but I am sure it is just a matter of time. I don't see how they can keep things sanitized during lunch periods. (And I expect older kids might sneak off for some private time if they can get away with it.)
They did away with our motorcycle helmet law, but they require tiny kids to wear huge helmets to ride bikes with training wheels. I suspect the motorcyclists are at greater risk and should take the precautions even more than tykes.
Ranger, hope you are feeling better now, buddy! Remember, keep asking for soft food!
Wow, getting kicked out of the country for stealing tablecloths and aprons. Well, it's not that different from today where murderers and pedophiles go free while mask violators are sent to prison. Too often the law is upside down.
Lisa, have you ever seen the story of Charlotte's Web? Not the children's book, but the fight to legalize marijuana to treat severe epilepsy? It was one of those fascinating yet frustrating documentaries that you hope makes a difference.
My eyes are still not great, so I am going to sign off before I end up with raisin eyes again. They hurt. I have a follow up visit on Monday. We'll see what the Dr. says.
Wishing a great weekend to everyone. Hope you get cooler, non-smoky days soon!!

Good morning everyone Happy Sunday Laura I did get her address yesterday morning and mailed it right off to Miss Dixie Monroe she should get it on Tuesday. I loved your story about ancestors coming from Australia and on the first fleet because of stealing tablecloths and aprons maybe they executed the more violent crimes. Lisa I think if I had a way to get her here I would take her but then my vet bills would go up again and I don't know how her and Tori would get along the rescue is coming today if for some reason they turn her down but I thought rescues always took dogs because if the rescue doesn't then they will have to take her to the shelter and if not adopted in 6 months they would put her down. Anick how is Teddy doing is he still eating Marty are they containing those fires in Oregon are you still getting a lot of smoke and ashes Carol how is Molly doing Leslie I have not seen the story of Charlottes Web but I believe the marijuana should be legalized used to treat severe epilepsy. Leslie I agree with you about our lows where murders and pedophiles go free I think before letting the pedophiles free they should castrate them. Sorry you eyes are not so great it is best you don't look at the computer too much hoping your follow up visits go smoothly.. Kathy hoping Stephen hasn't had any more leaks I did not work on anything crochet as my red yarn hasn't arrived yet for me to finish the chicken hat and I was not in a mood to start working on the baby blanket. Hugs Dee & Tori

Teddy is eating, not always his full meals but most of it, he is doing better.
My shawl is ready to wear but I did not get to wear it yet, we had a cold front and something a lot warmer as been needed right now.
The British did send prisoners to Australia and the Frenches did send theirs here to Canada when it was call Nouvelle France. My Aunt did trace back our first ancestor to one of the first ships coming here too but the research did stop there because he never did give his real name when he got arrested for fur trafficking and they did give him the name that was used here until today.

Dee that would be so wonderful to get the dog but you do have to think about vet bills. Our Molly takes so many pills now. She is high maintenance LOL!! Yesterday the Humane Shelter came and took a white German Shepard away, It has been hanging around the neighborhood for over a week. It would follow and bark at people. If I hadn't had my doggies I would have tried to get close to her. She looked to be a few years old. I hope she gets adopted. Theres is a chance she could. Carol, Molly & Pooks

Dee, at least it is six months and not a lousy the days like the pound. Hoping the rescue will take her though.
Anick, we did not know that about France sending their criminals to Canada! That is so parallel to us!
Carol, l hope they find a home for the German Shepard!

od morning everyone Happy Monday I know Carol about those vet bills as I had three dogs and each a senior but AJ was the worst she had so many different pills to take, Sabrina only one and Tori has 2 different medication but Ashley said the dog was pretty healthy. I hope that German Shephard gets adopted rescue people do adopt them and train them for military or police dogs Anick that is interesting he never gave his real name but a fake name that he still uses today so that would make it very hard to track ancestors. Sorry the weather too cold to wear your beautiful shawl but am glad Teddy is eating Lisa my sister called me to tell me she had the dog and her son is brining it to me Wednesday with dog food, leash, her crate, and stroller. She does not have the vet paperwork yet will try to get it when she goes back this weekend to help with the clean up. I asked did not the rescue take her she said no they were full did not have the room and the shelter said older dogs hard to adopt people want puppies and the few people Ashley came to look at her told her the same thing they thought it was a puppy too old not interested. Ashleigh and my sister said she is a very sweet dog. My goes out to her living with Cindy since a puppy now pulled around to total strangers and I didn't want her in a case 6 months when she is used to walking around in a house and I know how much Cindy cared for her dog so the dog will be here in Wednesday and I will post a picture of it. Maybe God is leading her to me because Tori won't be around much longer and then I will be down to one dog again. I know Rosemarie will be upset because with my sister's son bringing her Wednesday afternoon she will know I will have to be in quarantine for 2 weeks and not able to take her anywhere. My neighbors will be upset seeing a New Jersey car in my parking lot again. I would ride to Dayton Oh after I finish with Rosemarie on Wednesday but my youngest brother has never seen my house this is a good opportunity for him to see it besides her son is a lot younger to be driving around. I hate driving by myself for over an hour. I finished the baby blanket going to send it to Freddy Girl to lay on. Hugs Dee & Tori

Lisa, oh no on the man with the medical marijuana card. Can he buy it in another state and bring it home? Or will he still get in trouble that way? Yay for lower vet bills. Well, lower side, anyway. They are never "low". hehe. Hope Ranger is back to hiself now and eating normal. And hope Tango is eating better, too. Leslie, boy I do the same thing! I get to the reply box and have to work hard to remember what I was going to say to everyone. hehe. I'm sure I miss and forget a lot. I hope you get good news at the doctors today. And I hope s/he can come up with an economical solution. From looking up some information after my sister was talking about the first and second fleet ancestors it did look like more serious crimes had a sentence of hanging. Some of the stealing had the same sentence it looked like, but the sentence was then lessened to transportation and 7 (or on some 14) years. Anick, I didn't realize the French had sent prisoners to Canada. How far back, roughly, was your aunt able to go to find that relative? I think in my brother-in-law's case it was 1780s or 1790s. What a shame that the name was changed and you can't trace back further. If I learned any of this history in school I sure didn't remember any of it. Which is quite possible. History was not one of my favorite subjects. But I have to admit I am finding a lot of this interesting now. Carol, I'll bet that white German Shepard was lovely. I don't know if I've ever seen one. Hopefully she will get a good home and quickly. Dee, I hope Dallas will be healthy and not need anything from the vet other than a yearly check up and regular heartworm meds and such. And I'm glad your nephew and brother will be able to bring her to you. I hope it's just going to work out great. I'm sorry you will have to stay away from Rosemarie for a couple of weeks, but look on the bright side. That will give you and Tori a good change to get to know Dallas before you leave the dogs home alone. It's funny. I do think sometimes God has a way of bringing animals into our lives. For a long time I had just Pippi and Cheeky. Pippi always was more energetic and playful than Cheeky. So at one point I had started thinking of a third dog so Pippi would have someone who would play with her. Cheeky had been ill a lot that year with digestive problems. I had taken my two to the Critter Fest, which is a fund raiser for the local humane society. A lot of different rescue groups come and bring pets to be adopted. Well, someone from the local shelter stopped me and told me they had Cheeky's twin at the shelter and she wasn't doing well in the shelter environment and had about quit eating. Of course that broke my especially given all the trouble Cheeky had had that year. That was on a Saturday and the shelter wasn't open until Tuesday. But there I was Tuesday and I must have known what would happen because I brought one of Cheeky's harnesses and a leash with me. It wasn't the dog I had had in mind for playing with Pippi, but it seemed right to make her part of the family. Cheeky became more playful having a buddy her size - Pixie really was Cheeky's twin. I quit looking for a buddy for Pippi and figured that's life and didn't need four dogs. About six months later was when someone got in touch with me about Dutchess, who was a Min Pin. God had a plan and Pippi got a buddy her size, too. I really didn't need four dogs, but I wouldn't have changed a thing. With both Pixie and Dutchess there was a little adjustment period, but everyone settled into the new family we became. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Such beautiful stories about adoptions and new families! Dee, maybe Tori is lonely, and Dallas will be a good companion. Both may be with you for a long time to come.🤗
I don’t think I have ever seen a white German Shepherd before. She must have been beautiful. (My friend does have an all black one. Pretty and intimidating!). I hope she finds a good home right away.
Things weren’t as great with my eyes as we had hoped. I may have Bell’s Palsy on top of everything else. I checked and found that chiropractors can sometimes help with that. It would be nice if I could get away without taking medication.

Good morning everyone Happy Tuesday Leslie so sorry to hear mommy's has Bells Palsey added to her list of problems will you check a chiropractor since you read sometimes they help with it. I don't blame you for not wanting to take medication as the medication ends up causing more problems Laura I loved the story you you got Pixie and Dutchess. Lisa how were the stories for the pets you rescued. Carol we have fall weather here too in the low 70;s thank you for your compliments Anick we hope Teddy continues to eat and him and Willy both enjoy playing Laura history was boring in school for me too but when looking up your own ancestors to find out what they did is more interesting you are more connected to them. Marty sorry to hear Harley doesn't have any warning for his pooping Kathy hope everything is going smoothly for Stephen Well folks my sister called last night I won't be getting Dallas till Sunday her son Billy wants to leave on Saturday bring me the dog on Sunday my sister told him make sure he stops in Ohio to get my brother Donnie. He wants to stay a week a job hunt. I pray he does that at my brother's house they he told her in Ohio or Kentucky just needs to find someone to stay with while he job hunts. I really don't want him here as I am alone and from how my sister talks about him making her life miserable he plays loud music and smokes marijuana doesn't work. She had to take him to court one time because of his threats to her and the judge told him he should be happy she is having him in her house kids his age are usually out on their own. He complained to judge she was spending his money but the judge told him the money was left to her and she was spending it on fixing up the house so when she goes if they want to sell the house they will get more money out of it. If my sister asks me if he can stay I can't tell her no because she has helped me a lot with Sabrina and AJ vet bills and bought my computer. I hope he will just stay with my brother in Ohio and look for a job there. He doesn't work now in New Jersey I am not sure what skills he has I do know he is 23 I have never met him before. She adopted him when she was 50 he was a crack baby. So hoping he doesn't ask to stay here figuring I have this big house the basement to himself to do what he wants. Laura I don't mind the 2 weeks quarantine as I am like you that gives me the time to bond with Dallas before I have to go and leave her alone for a couple hours. I know it will take her a while to adjust but Tori will be glad to have her company as she misses Sabrina and AJ being here with her and she gets excited when anyone comes to visit. Hugs Dee & Tori

Laura, we know the ship my ancestor was in did get here around 1600 and we are not even sure he was French when he got arrested in France.
Dee, it is often hard for a pup who as never been an only pup to not have buddy at home so Tori might be very happy to see she will have a friend to cuddle with.
