Coal and Parker don't mind taking the pills. They know it helps them. You can tell when they have not taken it. Coal reminds himself every morning. Parker needs a reminder. You would think his dad Brian would remind the boy. Brian has been released from reporting to a probation officer and in Feb. if he is a good guy and no trouble is is completely free. He is again looking for a job, any where, any shift. I'll have Evan before and after school and Parker everyday at my house until the school has the room for him. They said it would be after the 3rg quarter. I think that is after Thanksgiving. Thank you for the prayers for my Molly. Please keep them coming. Carol, Molly & Pooks

Oh dear Anick, I had not seen people celebrating on FB. That is people can be like that. Dee, that is good thinking bathing Dallas yourself and not dropping her off somewhere so soon so she has more time to settle in first. Also nice that you washed all the blankets and have things ready to welcome her. I'll bet she will feel better after a bath, and I hope she is a dog that likes baths. Neither of mine are thrilled with them. They both got one today. Nimbus went in the bathroom with us and kept looking to see what I was doing to the dogs. Hehe. I would love to know what was going through his head. As soon as I let the dogs out of the bathroom they did their usual and headed straight for my bed to go rub all over it. Doh! I can't wait for tomorrow to see pics of Dallas and hear more about her. I hope she is there and getting to know everyone already. Carol, sounds like a step in the right direction for Brian. Is he still doing AA? A for you for having the boys again. I know they are good boys, but thinking you had been looking forward to the break now. What made Brian decide to look for a job rather than staying home with the boys? Sending more gentle for Molly. I sure wish she could get over this bacteria and start feeling better. Hope she will have more of her appetite back today. It was pleasantly cooler this morning. Decided to get out and tackle a little more ivy in the yard. I have not really worked on it since spring. I may not do much more again until it cools off more. The temp was nice for working on it today, but there were a lot of mosquitoes. Ugh. Maybe if I wait a little longer they won't be a problem. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good afternoon ladies!
Anick, that is awful! Even if you disagree with someone's politics, being glass when they die makes you a very bad person. The only one you are allowed to rejoice in their death is Hitler!
Carol, prayers for you and the boys. Brian too. How hee can stay straight! Our good friend, Lorrie is struggling with her husbands addiction.
Laura we are having cooler temps too, but not cool enough. Still in triple digits.
Dee we are so excited for Dallas. We know she will love it with you!
Leslie, how are you feeling with the diagnosis? I hope there is some relief for you!
Kathy, many prayers for you to stay feeling better too.
Marty, how are things with you?

Hello Ladies ~! Yeah, it's been awhile, I know. The main thing I wanted to come here is to let Anick know I did receive Willy's invitation to become friends with Milo on Pets 4 Pals. I don't play there anymore, as the site is very difficult for me dealing with my eye situation. I get very frustrated there, and coming to play, is suppose to be fun. I am sure most of Milo's friends there do understand. Before I became blind in my right eye and no central vision in my right, I could do more things online, as visit P4P and post in Milo 'n Mallee's Malt Shoppe there, but then I came here and it was MUCH easier onmy eyes and since I can't do both, I stopped going to P4P. I miss it and all our frineds there, more there, I think than here. More friends we've made over time and on FB as well. I kind of like it here, smaller and the setup is much different. So, am sorry I don't play there anymore and thank you for the invitaion, Anick, but I will stay here. And, please come by the Malt Shoppe sometimes! Milo and our pals miss you there. I've had a hard day today, seems like I've been cooking all afternoon. I made a meatloaf, chopped onion, bell pepper, egg, bread crumbs, salt and pepper and a little bit of tomato sauce. Baked for an hour, took out, topped it with more tomato sauce, popped it back in for another twenty minutes and begin pealing zuccini and chopping them up, sauted with Parm on it. Stephen not felt good today, so I was left with clean up too. Now I am beat. hehe, but it was very good. Oh and I got warm, Stephen still has his heavy sweatshirt on! He's in bed now. It has been races, football and golf all weekend here. But, Stephen was happy when the Cowboys won. Yeah, I was raised up in a Dallas Cowboys home also. Now, I don't ever want to go back to Texas. The weather here is so nice. We will still get some 80* days, but that is still so much nicer than what Lisa gets! And yours is cooking down some also, Laura? I know I don't cometo this thread much but usually I go to the Malt Shoppe and like Milo has said, it takes me around an hour to do one post. Not that I am slow at typing, but I am picky about what Milo cooks at the Shoppe! Is that weird or what?hehe And it shows me different things to cook and gives me ideas. I had read some of the last couple pages, but haven't read it all, and tonight...well the eyes are going to go to the Malt Shoppe and then rest. Yes, it will be fun to get out, Stephen and I talked about it today, so day trip or overnight, either way, it will be soon!
Big hugs all around,
Kathy, Milo, A Mallee 'n A Smokey Joe

It's alright Kathy, I did just send invites without thinking *hugs* I will go look for the Malt shop! Would it help you if we write in bigger font?
I got lots of FB friends who are just friends for games and I had to delete a lot of them because of stuff they post, there are lots of mean people out there.
I can't wait to see photos of sweet Dallas!!!!

Laura Brian is done with AA. Just has to go to court in Feb. I think he got tired of being home 24/7. Tracy his wife and my daughter has been pulling the whole load of bills and stuff. She has started smoking again Maybe he thinks he should act like an adult and dad and husband. He does cook but the boys do dishes. He does go to the laundry mat with Tracy once a week but still. He could not make Evan do the school work at home and that is why he is back in school. He doesn't keep track of Parker's school work. So... Thank Heaven Coal can keep track of his ownself!! Lisa, I'm sorry to hear about your friend Lorrie and her struggle with her husband's addiction. It really does affect the whole family. You know, that is to say you are having cooler temps when they are still triple digits. I hope you get some relief from the heat soon. I am so glad to have some fall weather and really hope it sticks around. October can go either way here. There are some Halloweens you have kids bundled up in winter coats, while other years they could be in shorts. I'd be happy with jacket weather. Hey Kathy. Good to see you here. I do understand about not visiting more threads and sites. Yes, my weather has cooled off some and I have been loving it. I feel a lot more energetic and can get outside and do more without melting. hehe. I have also been able to do a little cooking in the kitchen and not have to worry about how hot it will make the kitchen. That has been nice. Made some chocolate chip pumpkin bread yesterday morning, and picked up some brussel sprouts and had with dinner last night. I had pretty much just been doing things either in the crock pot or the microwave. I have enjoyed getting a little more done in the yard, but the down side it it stirs up my allergies more. And then everyone panics if you cough or sniffle. hehe. Carol, I can certainly understand why it would be good to have the income if Brian gets a job. I'm sure that has hurt not having it. Sounds like things may be better school-wise with you overseeing Evan and Parker and their school work after school. Hope Brian will be able to find a good job. Wish he would have stuck with the AA, but that has to be something he wants or it wouldn't do any good anyway. Hmm. No post from Dee this morning. Hope all is going well with Dallas. hope she has just been too busy playing with her to stop in this morning. My mom came over this morning and help me put a bench together. It was one she had bought for herself. She actually bought two and got one put together and the other was missing the screws and nuts and such that should have come with it. She was going to put one out front at their house to replace a wooden one that was about to fall apart. And the other she was going to put on the deck on the back because they have no place to sit there right now. Dad thought the bench was too hard and was mad that it was missing the screws. So said didn't want it around the house. Forget the fact that my mother could have sat on it even if he didn't like it. Mom had gotten both benches for a really great deal - $20 each. They were originally $120 each I think. Anyone, mom let me have the second one. I went to Lowes and got screws and nuts and we put it together this morning. I did not have a place to sit in my back yard and now I do. Yay. Then while mom was here I hopped out on the roof and blew leaves. I like to have someone around when I do that. Don't plan to fall but want someone to be here to call 911 if I ever do. I have valleys on my roof and I know the leaves collect and sit in them. So I like to try and blow them from time to time. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good afternoon everyone!!
Kathy, we totally understand! We were always Dogster dogs and when it died, we tried to follow all our friends. So now, we have FOUR groups we try to visit and it is not easy!! Your meatloaf sounds yummy!!
Anick, mommy has a few friends on FB who are SO opposite of mommy politically that she sometimes gets very depressed. But she is learning to just bite her tongue! One friend is very vociferous and yet she and mommy are pretty close!
Carol, I'm sorry Brian is done with AA. Seems like it is a lifelong committment. Hope he can stay sober!!
Laura, how great that you got a new bench! Anything to enjoy the outside is great!
Dee told us in The Tanner Brigade that she overslept!! She got up at 5:30 instead of 2:00! But *I* woke up at 2:00. NOT a happy camper abut that! Tried and tried to go back to sleep!!

Hello Ladies ~ Yes, Anick, making the letters bigger would help. It's hat I have to do to see anything at all. Lisa, I loved P4P it was as close to Dogster/Catster as any site I had seen. But, where I CAN make things bigger here, whenever I try and make letters bigger over there, everything falls off the page and I can't see it at all. It's the format Paul did, I assume. The font size I use here is NO. 5 but then I also have the 'size' on the zoom at 175%. It's very difficult when you only have one good eye and then you can't read the letters in the center of words, but I suppose my brain has wrapped it's mind around looking 'around' the words to make sense of them. Anick, it's o.k. if you don't make things a bit bigger, as if I have to, I can bring the 'zoom' up to 200% and things don't fall off the page here. Laura that is so cool about the bench, but very uncool you had to go and find screws and stuff for it Being outside when the weather cools down will certainly make us all feel better. We have a covered patio, fairly large with a table and chairs out there, at least we never get rained on, unless the wind begins to howl! he! Then, of course, we don't go out at all! Yes, I know all about FB. Girls, some folks, I just don't understand. Some so vicious. In writing. My mom told me never say something mean, cause you can't take it back, but heck, if you PUT it in Writing? I just look at FB to catch up on other friends sometimes, but am not on there enough to matter. And besides, I would never come unglued in writing. Haven't been there, I don't think, since Christmas. I lost my digital camera so I use Stephen's. I hated that I lost my camera. May find it some day when I do some much needed deep cleaning here. Just haven't felt like it. Carol, so happy that Coal can take care of his ownself. Hope things get better for Tracy too. Like Laura said, it effects the entire family. I hope Marty's fires and smoke go away soon. It's done so so much damage and I feel so bad for those folks. Lisa, you said Dee overslept? She normally gets up at 5:30 AM? I feel like the lazy one here, I sometimes sleep til 9ish! Reading all about your crocheting and knitting. I have latched hooked once, and I think it's called cross stitch once. I use to sew a little, but now all of that is out of the question. Stephen says I am doing pretty good. I am just glad I CAN still see at all. I had 4 surgeries on my left eye and was left blind. Then 3 surgeries in my right eye and had a hole in the macula leading to no central vision. I can't drive and I have to rely on Stephen to drive me around. Some days I just feel really handicapped by the vision problem, but I keep on trucking!
Hugs all around,
Kathy, Milo 'n A Mallee 'n A Smokey Joe

Lisa, 5:30 and 2:00 both sound bad. hehe. I seem to have a lot of trouble sleeping any more. Some nights it is trouble falling asleep, others I can't stay asleep. So I will give anyone sympathy who doesn't sleep well or their schedule is off.

Oops. Looks like Kathy and I were posting about the same time. I've got the sun porch on the front of the house and use that a lot. And I have a long, but narrow covered side porch. The houses are rather close together though and I feel like if I sit there I am just looking in the neighbors windows. So I don't use it much. The back yard is better for putting the dogs on long lines and letting them roam around. I am often surprised at the things you see people post on FB. They tell all the family secrets, let the world know when they are going on vacation (and the house will be empty) and all kinds of other things. I try to avoid politics on FB. That just seem to stir up trouble. Kathy, my grandmother had macular degeneration and her vision was pretty poor. She got in touch with the council for the blind and they came and did some things around the house to help her. Some of it was little things - like add raised dots you could feel on the stove knobs. She couldn't see to know what she was setting the eyes to, but she could feel. They gave her a thing that was kind of like an overhead projector, but it went to a computer type monitor. She could put things on the bed of it and it would greatly magnify it. So she could read (kind of) letters and cards and bills she got in the mail. I think it made the letters about an inch or two tall with the magnification. They also introduced her to books on tape. They also told her the pharmacy could package her medication in daily dose packs - because she couldn't read the bottles to know what was what. They helped her get that set up. All of these are things you don't stop to think about how you would do them if you couldn't see. I'm sure you face plenty of additional challenges, too, that the rest of us don't stop to think about. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good morning everyone Happy Tuesday sorry I did not get to this group yesterday I woke up at 5:30 AM by the time I fed the girls got them outside and did get on the computer it was time to go to the post office and visit Ward at the nursing home. They brought him out again with no hat nor shoes he did have socks on with the tread on the bottom. I had the staff put on the new army hat my nephew sent hope they put it on him when they bring him out next Monday as we had to visit right out in the sun. Dallas slept better last night only got up 2 times. I also got the paperwork from her vet in New Jersey so took Dallas to the vets with me to pick up Tori's dog food and schedule and appointment with Dallas Ann she goes Monday September 28 at 3 pm the earliest they can do for blood work and urine. By the way Cindy named her Dallas she she liked the Dallas Cowboys Kathy sorry you have so much problems with your eyes but love that food you were cooking sounds really delicious Carol so sorry to hear Brian not going to AA any more and he is not up on the kids school work but that you will be watching them after Thanksgiving. We will continue prayers for sweet Molly Leslie how are you eyes doing. Lisa mommy is used to getting up at 2:00 every morning getting things done so when she goes to Rosemarie at 9 everything is caught up but since she is quarantined from Rosemarie for the next two weeks and no place to go and Dallas Ann keeping her up she over sleeps and puts her behind which frustrates her Anick I am sorry to hear people are rejoicing the death of someone they don't care about. I try to avoid all that is political on facebook. Haven't been able to crochet or play games with Dallas Ann the last few days as when I sit on the couch Tori is on my left and Dallas Ann on my right. Tori takes her paw pulls my left hand to her to pet her which she does every morning before Dallas came and Dallas takes her nose and shoves my hand on her head so both hands are petting dogs no hands for crocheting or game playing. Posting a Picture of Dallas Ann after I gave her a bath. She does not like a bath kept getting out of the sink and doesn't like her hair brushed snapping at the hair brush but she loves to go outside which her mom never let her do. She follows me around everywhere. Heck the day I got her when I threw something out in the trash in the garage she got out there and I was around chasing her so I finally opened my car door since she likes to ride and she jumped in I was able to catch her then give her a bath. Hugs Dee, Tori and Dallas

Dee, I'm glad you got to see Ward. I hope they will remember the hat next week, too. How have your temps been? Nice for the visit? Wonder if they have any plans for this winter. Fingers that by then they can come up with a vaccine and better treatments and you won't have to visit outside from a distance. Dallas is a cutie. I like hearing how people picked names for pets. That is too funny how she jumped in the car and you were able to catch her. hehe. Clever. I wonder if she will get better about the brushing and come to see it as a way to be close to you and get your attention. Sorry you are not getting to crochet or play games. It would be hard to resist those two cuties wanting your attention. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)
