Wow, Anick, that is gorgeous! I'm not sure if the post office is doing rotating strikes, like they did last time, or this is a general walk out. That post man of yours is crap disturber. That's a little excessive asking a branch that is 8 feet up to be cut. Unfortunately, with the repeated strikes by the post office and the fact that the post office is losing so much money annually and has that huge deficit, a lot of people are no longer sympathetic to the demands they want. The post office needs a huge restructuring. Just my opinion.
Buddy had another bad night and this morning we are both tired. Hoping this passes quickly.
Wishing all a good day

Good point, Diane, unless Anick has a lot of 10 ft. tall postmen, or people in general walking there! Hope Buddy is doing better now. Have a great day everyone!

Dee, that blanket will be done with DK (fine) yarn, that is a lot bigger then the thread used for the table cloth.
Diane, it is a general strike this time. A few years ago they wanted to stop delivering mail to the houses because they had to deliver too many packages and wanted to focus on that and have postal boxes instead, people got opposed to that and did offer that letters be delivered 3 days a week instead of the 5 days we have right now, they didn't like that and refused.
Deb, since I live here, 26 years, it is the second ''special'' postman we have, the other one was complaining about bees and dogs inside houses that were looking out at the windows.

Good morning Happy Monday Carol have a great day Diane I am so sorry to hear you and your husband are tired and exhausted as Buddy had another bad night we are for all of you. Anick I am sorry your postal service going on strike. I am not familiar with DK fine yarn but glad it is bigger than the thread for the table topper. Why do they complain about dogs inside the houses they can't get at the mailman. So do you mail man still walk up to your door. We have ours that just rides his little mail truck puts in mailbox off the road but if he has a package to big for mailbox he does walk it and put on the porch. People have cut down on mailing letters due to stamp prices and most bill paying is done automatically from checking accounts to make sure it gets paid in timely manner.\ Deb have a great day Leslie hope you are doing okay Lisa sending lots of prayers for Chuck and you My Happy the mobile vet coming today to groom Belle it is called N Biscuits Hugs Dee, Dallas and Belle

Anick, that blanket is stunning. I wish I could learn how to make all of those different flower blocks.
Is Buddy feeling any better today?
Isn’t it funny that someone who got a delivery job is now complaining that they have to deliver things?
Dee, I am exhausted reading all you have accomplished! I hope all of your trip planning goes smoothly so you can enjoy the events.

Hugs to Buddy. He's in our thoughts. Leslie, I agree about the blanket! Guess those new hirees, didn't understand the word carrier or delivery! And would they rather have the dogs outside, Anick? Crazy, is all I can say!

Good morning everyone. I just wanted to stop in and tell you personally how things are going.
Chuck's family has been wonderful to me. They have taken me on and assure me l will always be part of the family.
You would be shocked if you saw my house. Chuck had about 30 riding lawn mowers, at least 9 vehicles, maybe three car trailers, a Gulf cat, two mobile trailers and two or three full sized tractors. Plus tons and tons of tools. His boys have aired me that they will evaluate everything, sell what they can and junk what they can, then we call split the profits. I told them l don't need anything.
Chuck told me once he has a stash of money but l haven't been able to find it. If l do, l will split that with the boys. I'm not holding my breath.
Chuck's sister was with me all weekend and she was with me all day yesterday. Her and her husband were with me when they took Chuck off life support. It makes me cry when l think about how wonderful everyone has been!
Diane I'm so glad Buddy has a good day. I hope to go back and read all the updates eventually.
I love you all and thank you all for your prayers and concern.

Anick, that pattern is beautiful. I can't wait to see it when you finish. I saw your table topper on facebook recently and you do such lovely work. I have a few small pieces that my great grandmother made. I'm not sure if they are tatted or crocheted. I'd like to frame them. Good grief with your postman. Sounds like he goes out of his way to be difficult. Like others I will hope the strike will end sooner rather than later. I wish more people would look at the big picture when making demands. If they strike for a month do they not think more and more people will move to other options for mail and packages? And then not come back to them when the strike is over? Dee, how did your meeting go with the other subdivision for advice on trips? I hope you got a lot accomplished. You are a very organized person, who doesn't let grass grow under her feet. I think you are just the person to take this on and have it up and running smoothly in no time. Diane, I'm sorry Buddy has had some bad days recently. I hope things have settled down and he is on the mend again. I know with Cheeky it was so frustrating not knowing what would set her off. She eventually ended up on a medication called Reglan and it did wonders for her in keeping things settled down. I sure wish you could find something like that for Buddy. Until then I will at least hope he can have some good days to catch up and even more some good nights so everyone feels better the next day. Boy do I know about lousy sleep!! Anick, you have some doozies there. I first misread and thought you said both bees and dogs were inside looking out the windows. hehe. All I can say is wow - dogs can't look out the window. I think that post man would have gotten along well with my former neighbor who thought I had something to do with stray cats pooping in her mulch. Some people. Dee, in my neighborhood, including my house, there are a lot of houses where the box or mail slot is still up on the house and not at the street. What they have started doing is if a new family moves in they are supposed to move the box to the street, but I've been told they can't make you move an existing box unless you just moved in. I had a post man years ago that didn't deliver half the mail. People would frequently find piles of mail in a muddy ditch. That is when I got the post office box and have kept it. Just safer. Leslie, have you worked on any tricks with Murphy? You have a gift for connecting with and teaching your pets amazing things. I wish you could come work with Willow in the park. Heck, the other day I'm not even sure Caesar Millan could have made her behave when she saw a Great Blue Heron ... three times. She was going berserk! Lisa, I'm so glad that things have gone well with Chuck's family. Too bad they couldn't have been a bigger part of your life sooner, but glad they are there now. I'm glad the sons are going to help sort through all the mechanical things Chuck had and figure out what can be sold and what is junk. If he has some wrenches you should hang on to some. I thought of Chuck when I was watching a video where someone had used wrenches to make a wind chime. I was thinking you had said he was mechanically inclined and wondered if he had any to spare. And I hope you will have a nice surprise and find a stash of money. Hopefully the boys will check things closely to make sure they don't miss a good hiding spot. Continued thoughts and prayers for you, the fur babies, and Chuck's family. I am so very sorry for your loss. The wind is picking up here this afternoon and despite the forecast saying sunny, it seems to be clouding over again. Looks like a November sky, but I think that is a pretty sight. I like that steel blue/gray color and clouds add interest to the sky. I'm also loving hearing the leaves blow in the wind. A relaxing sound. Willow, however, is not so sure about some of the wind gusts. She is enjoying barking at the squirrels though. I've been working on several projects at one time. Most you have to do bits and then let that bit dry or sit before you can work on it again. So on to the next project to do a step. Personally I would rather be able to just keep going on one project at a time. Hopefully soon though I am going to be finishing some of these. If I pay close attention Pippi has made some progress with the torn ACL. She is putting her toes down on that leg. Not really supporting herself yet, but that is okay. However her other back leg she seems to be using less and less. She either knuckles under or more often just slides her leg forward and doesn't put any weight on it. I will have to run that by the vet when I give him an update - likely tomorrow. I am hoping she just needs some more time, but getting worried this may be the new norm. Time will tell. I have started using my dad's old computer some and had really wanted to set up some network storage to be able to do things both from it and my old laptop. The network storage works great with the old laptop, but sadly the security technology is too outdated to work with dad's old computer. Haven't taken the time to see what inexpensive options I have, but I am hoping there are some good ones. Let's see. Some happy thoughts and some wishes for everyone today ... * I have been sitting out on the sun porch to type and have a few windows cracked. Also out on the sun porch are my wind chimes - something I have never put back out in the yard after an old neighbor (yep - cat poop in mulch lady) threatened to get rid of them because she hated the sound, but I digress. The wind is strong enough right now to make one of the wind chimes chime now and then. And I love the sound of the wind and the wind chimes. (That neighbor is gone. I need to think about putting the wind chimes out again so I could enjoy them more often.) * We had a little rain yesterday and last night. So Mother Nature watered the grass seed for me. * I am starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel with some of the projects I have been working on. --- * I hope everyone has their kind of weather today, whatever that may be. * I hope everyone sleeps well tonight and awakes tomorrow feeling rested and ready to face their day. * I hope everyone has a good and delicious meal tonight, with leftovers for another day. * I hope everyone has some sort of nice surprise today. Even a simple little something, but something that brings a smile to your face.
