Abby sent this one: ***** HUMAN RECIPE ***** This is the soup daddy made today and mom said it was the best!!! CHEDDER HAM CHOWDER 2c. Water 2c. Peeled/Cubed Potatoes 1/2 c. Carrot sliced 1/2 c. Celery diced 1/4 c. Onions chopped 1 tsp. Salt 1/4 tsp. Pepper 1/4 c. Butter 1/4 c. Flour 2c. Shredded Cheddar Cheese 1 can Corn 1 1/2 c. Cooked Ham cubed 2c Milk In large saucepan bring water, carrots, potatoes, celery, onion, salt and pepper to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer til veggies are soft. Remove from heat - Don't Drain. In another sauce pan melt butter and blend in flour. Add milk. Cook and stir til thick and bubbly. Add cheese and stir til melted. Then stir into the veggies and return saucepan to heat. And corn and ham and heat through. When daddy made it today he doubled the recipe above. It made a nice full double handle pot (not a huge stock pot but the dutch oven type pots) We gave a out 3 bowls to neighbors, we ate, and we still have plenty for leftovers for dad after work. So like any soup the more the better! Great served with a hearty bread!! This is a great for a cool day!! Thanks Abby!

**** HUMAN RECIPE **** Mac & Cheese 2 cups dry penne pasta 2 tablespoons of melted butter 4 ounces of cream cheese 1/3cup of cottage cheese (you'll never know it's in there but it makes a difference) ¼ cup sour cream ½ cup shredded cheddar ¼ cup of pasteurized American cheese 12 strips of bacon, cooked crispy Fresh cracked pepper to taste 3 tablespoons of lightly salted butter 1 sleeve of Ritz crackers (plain or garden vegetable is really yummy) or you could also use traditional bread crumbs. Bring a quart of water to boiling, add a drizzle of olive oil to your water (prevents pasta from sticking) reduce to medium high heat and add your pasta. Cook until tender but not mushy. Drain water from pasta. Return to pan and add all ingredients except for melted butter and crushed crackers or bread crumbs. Stir over medium low heat until cheeses are melted and pasta is evenly coated. Pour your mac-n-cheese into a greased pie plate and top with cracker or bread crumbs that have been mixed with your melted butter. Place on lower rack in your oven, with the broiler on, until cheese starts to bubble and top is starting to brown. You can also place this in a 350 degree oven and bake for about 20 minutes if you prefer (the top won't be as "crusty" this way though). Enjoy! (from Tiki, January 2011)

Crisp Sugar Cookies - For humans but momma always shares with me Ingridients needed for cookies 1 Cup unsalted butter (softened) 3/4 cup cooking oil - I use veggy oil 1 Cup Granulated sugar 1 Cup Powdered Sugar 1 Teaspoon Salt 2 eggs 1 Teaspoon Vanilla 1 teaspoon Baking Soda 4 Cups Flour You will also need: 1/4 Cup Granulated sugar 1/8 Teaspoon Cinnamon In a large bowl using a mixer: Cream butter, oil, sugars(1 cup granulated sugar and 1 cup powdered sugar) and salt till fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well. Add dry ingriedients (baking soda and flour)and mix well. Divide the mix up and place onto waxed paper and using the waxed paper shape into cookie logs - NOTE: keep in mind how big you want your cookies diameters to be when rolling out the logs - wrap in waxed paper and place them in the refrigerator for approximately 1 hour or until the dough sets and hardens, I usually leave it overnight and cut and bake the day after mixing. Remove one log at a time and using a sharp knife slice each 1/4" think and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Mix together in a small bowl: 1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar 1/8 Teaspoon Cinnamon Lightly grease the bottom of the flat glass and dip it into the sugar/cinnamon mixture, then lightly smash a cookie top with the glass/mixture. Repeat for each cookie - you won't have to grease the bottom of the glass each time; only do so when the mixture stops sticking to the glass. You can also use holiday sprinkles but be sure to lightly smash them into the unbaked cookies tops as described above or else they tend to fall off after baking. Bake 15 minutes at 300 degrees. Let cool before removing from the cookie sheet. NOTE: The thinner you slice the log the crispier the cookies will be. These cookies are the BEST sugar cookies around! Everyone will love them. Enjoy! Here's a yummy recipe from @walker_Alexandria's mommy! Granny's Chocolate Brownie Cake Ingredients Cake 1 box chocolate cake mix 1 box fudge brownie mix 4 eggs 1 1/4 c water 1 c oil Ganache 1 c heavy whipping cream 1 bag (12 oz) semi sweet chocolate morsels Instructions Heat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a bundt pan with bakers or use the butter/flour method. Combine first five ingredients in a large bowl and whisk for 2 minutes or until lumps are mostly gone. Pour batter into prepared bundt pan and bake for 50-55 When done baking, remove cake and allow to cool in pan for up to five minutes. Carefully turn cake out onto a cooling rack and cool for 30 minutes more. Ganache Place heavy whipping cream in a large microwave safe bowl and heat for about 2 minutes. You want the cream to be just boiling. Carefully pour chocolate morsels into cream... it may rise up and bubble and this is ok. Let sit for 5 minutes. Whisk the chocolate and cream until shiny and smooth, about 1 minute. Pour over cooled cake and serve. We did use 1 1/4 cup of milk instead of the water. It is such a good and yummy cake!! (June 2018)
