Milo Blue Eyes I sure wish you guys had family that lived closer and was able to come by and help often. Even if it was things like driving, or picking up groceries, cleaning around the house, or whatever. I sure hope Pa can regain some strength and stamina. Does his poor kidney function contribute to his feeling tired? Oh boy would you look at those steaks. I thought I smelled that tonight. Yum! Thanks Milo. May I have two of everything tonight please and thank you.

Good morning everyone Happy Tuesday Charly we have never been to school either and we hope Toffee has fun. We are glad mommy stayed home with us too heck it was Mother's Day and we wanted mommy with us. Willy that is so thoughtful o you to help Toffee pack a lot of food to hold him off in day camp and in school Toffee we hope you had fun in day camp and learned a lot in school Milo Blue Eyes what a fitting meal loved it all and the Yorkie picture at the end was adorable. We worry about your daddy driving that distance too and wish there was a good citizen around to drive him there since no family member live close by to take him Pooks so you got some rain we had the rain on Mother's Day but clear yesterday going to be clear today to. Pippi you made mommy laugh with you saying it was so windy that you could put a rope on Cheeky and fly her like a kite we know you wouldn't do that but just the thought of her flying in the air Today mommy going to Rosemarie house to play games then at 10:30 we are going to Red Lobster as Rosemarie is paying for Di and Bill lunch it is their anniversary (I pay for my own whenever I go out) but yesterday after I left Rosemarie house I headed to Alexandia Ky at Frisch met my friend Patti who I used to work with we had a nice lunch and talk she said she will miss me when I go back to Florida but you always aaid going to Florida and never changed your Florida phone number. I told her I would get back with her in August when I get back from house hunting let her know what I found out. I did not tell Rosemarie I was meeting up with Patti otherwise she would have wanted to go so I could take her shopping at Meijers she was asking me yesterday when we were going to Walmart I said Thursday after our games. Tomorrow I will go to the cemetery it is Ward's 80th birthday just hope it doesn;t rain

Yes Charly I have often been surprised that there aren't resources available through medicare or veteran benefits for Milo's Pa. Mom's uncle could get rides to and from appointments (but mom did that for him), and at times they were able to get home health, including help around the house cleaning, with laundry, cooking, etc. Mom's granny was able to get home health to help around her house, too. Wish one of the doctors would help get some of those services set up for Pa. DALLAS mom remembers one time at college a very windy day she thought it wouldn't take much for her to fly up in the air. There was one building with an open space at the ground level and two towers above that were connected starting on the 2nd floor. It was like a wind tunnel. On a windy day you really had to lean into it and work hard to get through there against the wind. I always thought class was fun. I got to see other dogs and people and got treats, and I liked working with mom on things. My favorite was the trick class we did. That one was really fun. A lot better than having to sit and stay and things like that. I have a harder time doing the right tricks now because I learned hand signals and I can't really see them so well now. But I still like to try.

Good morning everyone Happy Wednesday Milo Blue Eyes thank you so much for all the delicious food . Milo would mommy and daddy want to get married because if married when daddy goes mommy would get some of daddy's social security if his is more than she makes they add to hers but if they don't get married it just stops and besides not enough social security to bury one you only get $255 for burial expense but he is buried free at a VA Cemetery but you have to contact them know make sure a spot for him in the cemetery. I fully understand. Ward was getting a pension from his work place but years ago I told him to take all he can as I had a job not to save for me as his pension was way lower $480 a month so when he died that stopped but his social security $600 was added to mine since he made more than me but then we were married. So I only get 2 checks now instead of 4 I was collecting while he lived his pension & Social Security till he went in nursing home then just his monthly pension as his social security went for the nursing home. Yes you are corrected a doctor has to refer one to a assisted living or nursing home. You might want to talk to a free lawyer that can check your finances and advise you and yo can contact the aging center in your local town see there can assist you if you are over 55. Sorry your back is hurting you. My senior center gave me the number to the aging center which I contacted and they referred me to a lawyer who did not charge me he told me both of us together did not qualify for Medicaide but a nursing home can only take his salary in seeing if one qualifies since he was the one and he looked at my finances said that Ward qualifies for Medicaid and Medicaid would pay most of the nursing home except the $1500 minimum. If you need to do that stuff now before something happens to Pa as you would be too upset to think straight. don't go by what others tell you as things are different and that is why you need to get a lawyer who handles seniors and the aging center should be able to direct you to one at no charge. the blue background Patrick did to help my eyes but it won't do every post just every other one. Toffee you must learn that leave and do it no matter what good smells as we have some bad humans out there who hate animals and put out hot dogs with poison and when dogs eat it they die. Your parents love you and you need to learn Leave Don't Touch. Glad you had fun at camp and sniffed a lot of butts and made a friend name Ollie. Charly you are correct it is hard to talk about those things but when one is dealing with a lot of health issues one needs to get things in order so when it happens. I did not like talking about it but seeing Ward go downhill and when I moved her my daughter in law gave me paperwork for a cemetery wanting to make sure I made the arrangements so they did not want to..Then my senio center gave me the paperwork for the aging company when I contacted them they told me I needed to see a lawyer he was free and I saw him took all our finances to him and he said Ward qualified for Medicaid but not both of us and as soon as he went in a nursing home then Medicaid would pay for it. The only problem I ran into most nursing homes wanted on one month fee of $8,000 up front as it took medicaid one month to go into effect from the time they enter the home I did not have that kind of cash when I went to Jerry he did not have the cash ( that is what he said but then he buys a boat, Camper) so the hospital looked around and found the one nursing home that would accept without thee money and let me tell you that place was a dump and I didn't want to confuse Ward more by trying to move him to another by the time the medicaid was approved he was used to rolling around those rooms there. No money to pay for someone 24/7 to come to the house as was told Medicaid only covered nursing homes or assisted living, not home care so I kept Ward as long as I could then had to put him in the nursing home. If one can discuss this with your loved one it is a whole lot better than taking on this all alone Pooks don't feel bad Tori and Dallas never went to school or camp and Tiffany and Sabrina and AJ went to obedience school but they got a certificate but did not learn anything for sure they had a bad leader namely me. Pippi you talking about going through that wind tunnel made me think of the Flying Nun have you ever seen that show her hat she wears when a windy day it would scoop her up in the air and she would be flying.

Milo Blue Eyes- I am sorry you all are going through this. Mommy's parents are in their 70's. Her father has Parkinson's Dementia & her mom has health issues too. Heck Mommy has enough issues of her own. I don't know how she is going to deal with her parents when the time comes. They won't do anything without a fight, she already knows that. Mommy needs help herself right now. Her knee is getting worse. She's going to have to see another doctor or something. She has her MRI & the report to take somewhere else if necessary.

Milo Blue Eyes I sure wish the help could just be automatic and Pa didn't have to ask, but I am glad to know some is available when needed. And lots og for mommy, too. I can see why she has been loosing sleep. We're just going to keep both your parents in our prayers! I sure hope it's a good while before mommy has to worry, and I also hope before than she feels she has a good plan in place. Toffee I hate to tell you that parents do often think you should do the school things outside of school, too. But, sheesh. We never trained leaving lovely smelling dead squirrels you find in the park. Who can resist that? And then when mom runs from you it makes it that much more fun! Brings back good memories. hehe. Bacon ?!! OMD that sounds like fun. I am so jealous. Even the making friends, and frankly the nap sounds good to me, too. DALLAS I'm glad you had a lot of good resources to point you in the right direction for things with daddy. I think for a lot of people half the battle is just knowing where to start. BOL about the Flying Nun. Gosh it's been a while, but mom has seen that show before. hehe. Twinkle (My Sweet Angel) is there any other family in the area that can help with mommy's parents when the time comes? I hope so. That can all be stressful, especially if her parents are resisting mommy's help. I sure hope someone can find a way to help mom's knee, and figure out what is going on. My mom rarely eats dairy. She doesn't do well with it, but every now and then she has a little. She has noticed lately when she does eat it her knee and wrists seem to hurt more. That may be another food allergy or intolerance for mom. Guess it's a good thing she doesn't have it often. hehe. And now for some of that food. Oh you do spoil us Milo. Thank you!

Good afternoon everyone!! Toffee , I don't blame you! Why would you do any of that stuff, especially without treats?! Your day camp sounds pretty cool! DALLAS hugs for your mommy and all she had to go through. It's hard enough with all the pain from losing your daddy mentally, and then healthwise and finally financially!! willy , where is your apron! You know better than that! Hee hee!! Twinkle (My Sweet Angel) , your mommy is a very good daughter. Hugs for her and we sure hope they can get her knee feeling better soon! Daisy & Josey, it is good both your parents names are on the deeds and how great that your mommy will let your hubro have the car!! We assume he will help mommy with shopping and all of that, at least the driving part? Pippi , how interesting that dairy would make mommy's joints hurt! We never would have guessed that! Mommy had a scary day! She wrote about it in the Parents thread!!
