Hello everyone!
Deb, don't worry about it! I think we have all mixed up names before!! I, for one, totally understand!
Carol, growing up, we moved ALL the time! I probably went to 15 different schools!! My mom grew up in the house her grandfather built and they never moved once! That must have been nice!!
I went to a high school today where we issued at least 300 library cards! Very tiring!! I'm back in the building now, though, and watching the clock creep along!!

I often wondered what it would be like to grow up in the city during my childhood. And the night before the opening of the school year, I dreaded going and having to make new friends. But other children were usually curious about me and where I was from, so I didn't feel left out.

All my elementary school years I did live in the same place and did go to 2 different school due to a change in the school territories but all my friends did switch school too so that was no big deal. Between the age of 16 and 28 years old I did move 5 times and that was enough for me.
Deb, I am sure we all mix names sometime.
Willy did have a blast yesterday, I did fall once but it was my own doing and I wasn't even rolling!! LOL!!

Good morning Happy Saturday Carol you are so lucky to grow up in a house your dad built and never moving. As a kid I remember moving every year stayed in the same school district went to same school but lived in a different house. My parents die not own just rented and finally after high school they final bought a house but then they moved maybe every five years When Ward and I moved to Florida and bought the house in Silver Springs Fl that is the longest I eve4r stayed in one house for 16 years. Lisa that book sounds interesting a robot part human and exploring a planet hope the book discussion goes well. Great job on issuing over 300 library cards at the high school Diane sorry you feel you are wiggling like a Penquin with your hip and that you are in pain with it does walking with a cane help or just to keep you from falling. Have you heard any news from your doctor. Glad Buddy had a better day he is in our prayers Leslie yes very rough dealing with Bonnie she always talks about me going on a cruise with her but I make all sorts of excusing I do not want to be stuck with her on a cruise. Now she speaks up we had one of our residents a single man his house burned down to to a gas powered power washer that exploded. He had burns on his hands and legs in Shands Hospital and she brings up each resident she donate $100 to him to help him out as he did not have homeowners insurance. I frankly don't have $100 to help out willing to give $20. Bonnie and some others can afford that but a lot of others are lucky to be able to contribute $20. I don't know if he owned the house but if you have a mortgage you must have home owners insurance granted it is over $1,000 and I don't have a mortgage but I at least have home owners insurance. Deb I can understand you not sleeping well the night before school started having to go to a new school so often and wondering if you will be making friends it is scary for sure but glad everything worked out for you. Have you been able to get Foofy to the vet yet Anick so glad you and Willy had a blast I enjoyed watching the video. Sorry you fell once and was not rolling but glad you did not get hurt My happy today I hope to sew my bowls together. I broke a needle on the first one I started then had trouble getting the needle threader to thread the needle but called Ann she was sweet and came said i need to get a sewing machine with a push button for needle threader. I said that sounds great she said her mom had one. My sister is bringing me her sewing machine and I am not sure if she has a push button threader. It is too hard for me to see to manually thread the needle Hugs, Dee, Dallas and Belle

Lisa that is Great!! I grew up with the same kids all through grade school and then by Jr. High you get mixed in with kids from all over the city. Some were ok , some were not. I got harassed and physically attacked by a teacher, so I did get out of school. It was a very unhappy time for me. But you have to go on. Not like you planned but go on and it still gets difficult at times. I think thats why I have had so many cats and dogs. They have been a great comfort. I also love the Hummingbirds . They are here everyday and do communicate with us. Have a wonderful day at whatever you do and pass on a smile or a or a good morning Carol & Daisy & Josey

Oh carol that is unacceptable for a teacher to attack you! I hope he did not get away with it!!!
Dee l know what you mean! There are a couple friends in my book group that would drive me crazy if l had to spend more than an afternoon with them! Oh I'm sorry for your neighbor! That's terrible and l would think he would be grateful for any contribution no matter how small!
Anick l loved the video of Willy doing his thing! He makes it look so easy! He must be very strong. Sorry you fell and l hope you didn't get hurt at all!
Deb l know how you felt. I went into so many new schools and had to make new friends a lot, but luckily, even though l have always been overweight, l was always able to make friends and was never bullied!!
Diane l hope the hip is not causing too much pain and the cane is helping with that! And continued prayers for Buddy!
Leslie, that is a record for any outreach I've ever done, anyway!
My happy is my discussion today was really fun and everyone enjoyed the books! Not my pick, but we had a great time. We meet at Wildflower Bread Co. and l had potato cream cheese soup (the best!) and a half a BLT plus sandwich. The plus was avocado! Yum!

I agree, a teacher should never, ever attack a student! MOL, Anick. Hey, it's admirable you can still ride a bike! I have balance issues. Lisa, glad you weren't bullied. It seems other students are curious about new students. Glad you enjoyed your discussion! And an interesting meal! Diane, if you can get hip relacement, go for it! It really makes a difference, as far as pain and difficulty walking! Have a GREAT Sunday, everyone!

Carol, I understand you 100%. I did get verbally abused by a teacher in high school, he was insulting me and calling me names in class in front of the other students. One day I had enough and I did throw a book across class and it did hit the teacher and I got suspended from school even if all the other student did say what the teacher had been doing. I had to change school but, on the bright side, he did loose his job 2 years after that when he did the same to another student that did end up punching him.

Thank you all. The only thing that changed back then was me leaving school altogether. He threathen my family and I felt I couldn't tell. That was back in 70. My dad had heart problems and my parents were older so I did what I had to do. A school Nurse did get me out of school. But things were never the same . School should be a safe place. I get so mad when the grandsons have trouble at school even when its their own making. I have never told them or my daugter about any of it. My son knows because my mom told him one day. I had to finally tell her because way after the fact she started questioning me . I was going to take the whole thing to the grave. Its to late now for me to change it. I have trouble going anywhere because of it and that was a million years ago. I even saw a psychiatrist. It didn't help. Lets go on to nicer things. Anick I am sorry. There was a boy in 7th grade that hit a teacher and he got kicked out of school. Things needed to change long ago at that school. Love you all Carol & Daisy & Josey

Carol that makes me so mad that that happened to you! You are a strong woman to get through it, even if it took awhile. Deb, are you speaking of hip replacement from personal experience? It's amazing how far the medical community has come! Anick sometimes verbal abuse is worse! You are another strong woman. It's when kids aren't taken at their word when things like that happen! I was molested by a step uncle. Luckily for me, it was only touching. His son did the same, but when we told my mom (not why) that we didn't want him to baby sit us anymore, she trusted us and he never babysat again. I'd blocked all that out! My happy is l got my cleaning done for the day and now l get to relax!

Deb, I hadn’t thought about whether or not I could still ride a bike until you mentioned balance issues. I sure have issues too, but somehow when I picture myself wanting to do something, I still can. I found out the hard way that I can’t swim breaststroke because I can’t turn my head. That was an unpleasant surprise.
Lisa, I envy all the work you got done. I have the veterans coming for a pickup later this week. I keep telling myself that gathering all that stuff to give away counts as my “cleaning”. (Don’t ask me how that’s going to make a difference to the dust lying around…) 😆

Even verbal abuse by a teacher is wrong! When I got my MA in TESOL, that was never mentioned, so it never occurred to me that a teacher would do that. I'm so sorry! And I never saw that in any of the many schools I attended (we moved a lot). I wouldn't call a boy in fourth grade getting paddled by the teacher, abuse, just wrong. Yup, I have Titanium in my hip and my neck. LOL, Leslie! But it is cleaning of sorts. I need to do that as well, and get someone over here to help with vacuuming and such. I can't do it one-handed. Maybe there is a government program that can help with that, or I can find a low cost cleaner. Tomorrow, I have to be at work early to meet with a spervisor to do attendance. I hope you all have a great day!
