Happy Birthday Cleopatra!!!!!
Many succulents grow very well up north, we might not be able to have all the same you guys can but we can grow many of them. We did manage to redo that part of the flowerbed yesterday, I will take a picture when the light is right to show you. I have had flowers for bees and butterfly for about 23 years now. I love bees, you might find it weird but I find their buzzing sounds relaxing, they don't sound like the annoying flies at all.

Lets all please not keep talking about Pooks having the beginnings of Dementia. He is fine and safe. Please think of him as the wonderful silly caring little guy he is. Happy Sunday!

Lisa, would it upset you if I asked what Tango's seizure was like? I think Cheeky has had a few mild ones. She kind of tumbles/rolls out of her dog bed on my bed and then seems quite stiff for a few seconds. Sometimes I roll her over or move her a little where she might be more comfortable. Never lasts long - a few seconds. Then she seems disoriented for a few seconds. Then back to normal, although perhaps seems more tired. There is no jerking movement or anything like that. Just stiff and not moving. Thankfully these have all been short and few and far between. The first time it happened I was afraid it was a stroke knowing she has the tumor on her heart and it can affect blood flow. Lisa I wish I had a forest to help the planet survive. It still pains me to see them getting rid of 300+ acres of woods so we can have more shopping centers (when half the ones we have now we can't keep filled and in business), hotels and more. But I'd better stop before everyone has 10 pages of gripes to ignore. hehe. I hope today's schedule is better than yesterday's. Have you seen many patrons wearing masks when they come in? Dee, good news. Looks like Patrick did change the background colors here. Yay. Sorry the eye doctor didn't say anything when you mentioned the sensitivity to light. I sure hope it has improved on it's own before the 24th, and if not, hope the doctor has some good advice or something that can help. Has it improved any? I hope so. Sorry, too, about the shaking hands and the eye drops. Do you think when you are at Rosemarie's to play games that Di might help you put some drops in your eyes? That wouldn't be every time you need them throughout the day, but might help for at least one dose. Anick, I realized I do have one in my yard that may be a succulent. Off hand I don't know what it is. My neighbor's mother gave me a little bit to . I am hoping it will spread out. I know bees are important and I do like honey, but have to admit I don't want them that close to me. I am allergic to yellow jackets and my grandmother was allergic to bees. I've had a mild reaction to sweat bees. I'd just as soon keep them all a little further away. Carol, does Pooks like the nap in the sunshine outside when it's warmer weather? I had Pippi and Cheeky outside with me for a while yesterday while I was battling more ivy, honeysuckle and dead branches and such. They nap every time I turn around in the house, but outside they don't tend to lay down and rest. Boy I could have sat down and rested. hehe. I'm feeling it today in many ways. Sore from all the bending over, sore from pulling things out of trees or working overhead, and allergies stirred up like crazy. I'm allergic to honeysuckle and it just seems to have exploded all over the yard in the last few weeks. This is a yearly battle. I leave some for the privacy it provides and for the bees, but I don't want it taking over everything. It's as bad as the ivy. Wish the ivy would confine itself to the fence. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Laura, I don't mind you asking at all. He was having a restless night, wandering around and around and running into wall. I think he had lost most of his eye sight by then. Then, he had a seizure. His whole body went stiff and he was shaking and definitely unaware of anything around him, drooling too. It seemed like it lasted forever, but was probably only about a minute. I was a wreck! I have never had a dog who had a seizure before and boy was it awful! He FINALLY went to sleep and wouldn't eat in the morning. I could not get ahold of my regular vet so called the emergency vet. It was actually fortuitous, because I got to hold him in my arms when they put him to sleep and tell him he was a good boy. It was very peaceful. Not as inexpensive, but it was worth it to me.

Good morning everyone Happy Monday raining here in Walton Ky Lisa it is to go through all that but as you said expensive but worth it to you Laura I guess if you are allergic to bees you would want this as far from you as possible. I see this box I am posting on has a grey background but reading you post all seem to still be white backgrounds. Carol sorry will avoid all subjects and just enjoy the fun loving Pooks Anick that is good you love bees unfortunately for people that treat their yards they kill dandelions which bees like I used to in Florida get my yard treated then quit didn't seem like any difference in the price I was paying. This yard has plenty of dandelions for bees to enjoy. Have you ever been stung by a bee. When I was 7 I got stung by a bee when picking a flower right on my thumb. Then in my 30's married to the ex took him some lemonade out while he was cutting grass and then I got stung by a yellow jacket when I knocked him off he hit me in another spot so that one yellow jacket stung me 3 times and no fun. Marty how are things going with Toffee. Ginger how are you doing Annette how are you Kathy how are you and Stephen doing The kids picked up Chloe at 5 pm yesterday said they would come in a couple days after the two days of rain we are going to get Hugs Dee, Tori & Dallas

I never got stung by a bee but I did by wasp a few times and that did hurt. I mostly have Bumble Bees here and they are very calm and peaceful. I also have a lot of honey bees but they also are always very peaceful. I did manage to redo the succulent garden this weekend, here is a picture. The plastic bucket in the middle as carnivorous plants in it, it is like a mini swamp. Teddy had a seizure like that last Fall but, thankfully, he mad it out with only a paw not being as good as before. It doesn't stop him from playing or going on walks.

Laura yes Pooks loves to nap in the sunshine outside. Sometimes on the small ramp at the shed, sometimes on the cement patio blocks and sometimes close to the swing seat. Lisa I had a little Terrier/Cocker girl named Precious (1990 - 2005) and she starting having seizures . We had her tested for all kinds of things. The vet said there were idiopathic. He couldn't find any reason only thing he did find out was Precious had an enlarged heart. When she had one she would sway side to side. I would sit by her and hold on to her till it passed. It happened about 3 times then never again. Dee thank you! We can talk about all kinds of things here but please just a short mention is enough. Pooks is Super Dude , thats what my hubby calls him. The girls at the vets like his Superman t shirt and thats why hubby calls him Super Dude Anick I have stepped on small bees 2 times. I used to love going barefoot but that taught me. Have a super day all !!

Hi everyone!
My friend had a dog who had seizures, too, and her vet put her on phenobarbitol, I think. But those of you who remember Droopy, she had one and then was pretty much brain dead. It was awful. So I guess it depends on the cause and severity.
Anick, I love your garden!! It is so nice!!
Dee, I have been stung too, and I know it is no picnic!! I think the scorpion sting hurt worse, though!
Carol, stepping on bees sounds awful! How long did you limp afterwards?

Thank you for sharing about Tango Lisa. Cheeky's have certainly been milder than what Tango experienced. Dee, the background for the posts you are reading is actually a light gray as well. Lighter than the quick reply, but not white either. It's a hair darker than what is at Tanners. If the quick reply box is better maybe Patrick can make the posts that color as well. I'd call it a light blue. Eek on the stings. Yellow Jackets are the ones I am allergic to. I was swarmed by them once and ended up with a dozen or more stings. I came running in the house strippign off my clothes. They had gone up inside my shirt and shorts. Since then a single sting and I have more of a reaction. How do Tori and Dallas get along with Chloe and she with them? Hope they all enjoyed each other's company. Love the garden Annick. Are some of those called Hens and Chickens? I want some of those. I like you rocks in there, too. I keep thinking about how mcuh I would have to do to the soil. Mine is clay. Carol, thanks for sharing about Precious and her seizures. I'm trying to remember if I've seen Cheeky have three or four. They have been few and far between thank goodness. She always falls over on her side and is so stiff. Thankfully, too, they don't last long. I had a friend who wanted Pippi to wear a Batman shirt. Said her ears were perfect for it. BOL. Well, guess she would have been Bat Girl rather than Bat Man. Yikes on stepping on bees. That is interesting about the eggs Lisa. Afraid my dogs are out of luck though. Hehe. They do get a small bite of scrambled egg once in a great while, but that's about it with eggs. I was reading recently if a seizure lasts more than 5 minutes to see help immediately - go to emergency vet if needed. Guess the dog can overheat as part of it when it is prolonged like that. I'm hopeful Cheeky hasn't had any others that I am not aware of and thankful any I have seen so far have been very short. I'd be glad if she never had another though. We've had some rain off and on today. A few mild thunderstorms, but they had predicted some could be severe. So I felt cheated. hehe. I'm sure the four legged family members were happy with mild thunderstorms, but every now and then I like a good one. Guess I'll get another chance tomorrow. Think a little better chance for severe storms. At times the wind was something else today. I was at the grocery store today. Lots of empty shelves in places. I can't decide if that is because they don't have anyone to stock the shelves or because they can't get the items. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good morning everyone Happy Tuesday Laura I hope the empty shelves are just because the truck hadn't arrived due to climate weather and not a shortage of supplies Lisa I thought scorpions were poison and a bite from them would be deadly. But glad they are not since you have been stung by them. Thanks for the information about dogs and raw eggs. When Lisa picked chloe up on Sunday she said what caused her diarrhea she ate a whole apple that she was going to feed the chickens. Tori gets along okay with Chloe stays her distance but Dallas likes to play and start problems she went one day to Chloe to try and get her to play and Chloe growled was going to attack her so I made Dallas move quickly and whenever I went to Rosemarie house I locked Dallas up in her kennel for the 2 hours got her out when I was home to keep an eye one her Carol I love that your husband calls Pooks Super Dude and he is indeed a Super Dude that we all love Anick I love your garden and does that fence do good to keep Willy out or is the garden in an area he can't get to. I know Lori who has Droopy we are friends on facebook is that your friend you are talking about with a dog named Droopy. If so her dog Rascal has seizures too and is blind now Hugs Dee, Tori & Dallas

Laura, those are indeed mostly Hens and Chickens, they are the succulents that grow best here and they multiply very fast. Dee, that part of the garden is in the front yard so Willy doesn't get to go there without a leash on. My boys get a lot of raw eggs and they enjoy them a lot. I know we got lucky with Teddy's seizure, it could have been a lot worst than just a paw not doing as good.

Lisa I limped just a few seconds. Not letting a bee get the best of me and you have to shake the bad things/times off and keep on keeping on! Pooks gets 1 egg, boiled almost everyday. Never thought of raw though. He gets half a boiled egg at breakfast with his food and again at his supper time.

Dee, I wondered if the empty shelves were because there were not enough employees to stock the shelves. They have said that before when I have been in. I sure hope it's not a shortage of supplies, too. Anick, I love hearing that Hens and Chickens multiply quickly. The idea that they could spread out and fill in an area sounds good to me. Carol, Pip says lucky Pooks on the boiled egg. Mine get fruit and veggies, but not meat or eggs often. I'm sure they got the good stuff every day. But they have to settle for blueberries and green beans and whatever else I toss in at dinner time. We've had a noisy night and day here. The weather radio has been getting a good work out, starting around 3:30 this morning. Thunderstorms, flash flooding, watches and warnings. Mother Nature has also chimed in on the noise with all the thunder. Hopefully it will be a quiet night tonight and we can all catch up on some sleep. Cats and dogs have not been impressed, but I've actually enjoyed the storms. I find them fascinating. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good afternoon everyone!! Yes, Dee, that is the Droopy I meant! I know Laura has talked to her mommy, too, about dogs losing their eyesight!! Laura, we are so glad Cheeky's seizures (hopefully past tense!) were mild!! We figured you probably know Mouse, part of the Min Pin gang, and might like to see the blog our friend Foley wrote! MouseDee, scorpions in the US are for the most part NOT deadly! There is only one, called the Arizona Bark Scorpion, but we haven't had a death here in 40 years. Anick, we love your garden and are going to have to see if we can get some hens and chickens, too! Love the name!! Carol, how is Super Dude? We love that name!!
