Leslie where do you look it up? I just did a cursory search and couldn't find it.
Deb did you know there are chokecherries AND chokeberries? I have never tried chokeberries but l love the other! A little tart!
Diane how was that Sriracha bread? I'm on the fence about whether l would like it?
Dee as usual, your creativity is so awesome!!
Anick, do you ever go berry picking? One year when l was young, we went and picked blue berries when we went to visit my grandparents in Vermont. That is a very fond memory!
Carol, have you ever tried your hand at making jelly or jam? My sister and l made marmalade once, but I've never tried anything else!

I'll have the man check that both are working. A big thing in Finland are Lingonberries. They are too tart for my taste. your pets for me, if they allow that. Foofy wouldn't. Have a great day tomorrow!

Lisa, I Googled “choke cherries, plant family”, and Wickipedia info showed up in the corner. When you have food allergies, you get good at looking up plant stuff. 😂

Good morning Happy Monday Leslie I bet you do become real good at looking up stuff when you have food allergies to make sure you don't eat something to cause you big problems Deb glad the man checking to make sure both work before he leaves. So Finland has lingonberries. Lisa I have been blueberry picking, blackberry picking and strawberry picking but those berries Diane talks about I have never heard unless only found in Canada. I am amazed at all the bread her husband makes and looks so perfect. Happy Belated Birthday to Lil Bit I saw on PDPC yesterday it was her birthday after I came here Anick that is interesting so those berries Diane talks about are they wild berries and glad most can be cooked and eaten. I also wonder where Diane husband gets those bread recipes a family collection or google. Did you and Willy go bikejoring this weekend. Carol so our topics here are sewer and quilting and baking. Diane is Buddy still eating good with the cottage cheese. I wish I could make the jelly's you make I tried canning green beans and tomatores when living in Kentucky with Ward but it turned out bad. I am not a canner or can make jelly like his sister in law did. Can you pray for my friend/neighbor Debbie as she is getting back surgery this morning at 8 Rina did not join me for lunch again she said not feeling well though she posted all the places she was running around doing. Hugs Dee, Dallas and Belle

Lisa, I do have wild strawberries and wild ginger in my backyard and we have some land 2 hours drive away and, when we did go more often, I did some serious foraging out there. On that land we have wild strawberries, gooseberries, raspberries, red currant, Blackberry, cloudberries, ginseng, Hazelnuts, wild garlic, chestnuts and teaberry.

I don't bake cakes and cookies any more Just regular stuff like make meatloaf and stews. Many prayers for your friend Dee. When my brothers and I were way younger we would go with a widow neighbor lady and help her pick strawberries. We got to keep some also and boy they were so good! It was a You Pick Strawberry place in the country.

Lisa, the Sriracha bread is awesome when used in a toasted tomato sandwich!
Anick, hubby finds a lot of recipes on line and then adapts them to the way he want them and then puts them a spreadsheet for his use.
We have mostly wild Chokecherries and Saskatoon berries growing near us. There are also some wild raspberries, lots of Shaggy Mane mushrooms right now. I plant Egyptian Walking Onions in the garden and they are really doing well. I tried ground cherries this year and they are delicious.
Buddy has been off this morning but hopefully he feels better tomorrow!

Good evening everyone! Deb, I bet I would like the Lingonberries! I LOVE tart! Leslie, no wonder I didn't have any luck! I didn't ask what plant family!! Dee, turns out Chokecherries can be found in over 40 of our states! Yes, how is Debbie doing? Anick, do you have any plans for your land? That is very cool! We are thinking of moving once I retire. Carol, I love to bake, but only if the kitchen is clean (mostly dishes done!) and I have all the ingredients! Diane, what sort of flavor doe the Saskatoon berry have? Is it tart? Or sweet like grape jelly? I hope Buddy is doing better already! My happy is I finally went for my eye exam and should have new glasses in a week to 10 days!!

Toasted tomato sandwich! Sounds interesting. Can you tell me more about it, Diane? How is Buddy? Anick, what don't you have on your land that's 2 hours away? Lisa, if you ever go to any kind of Scandinavian store, you'd be able to get the Lingoberries. Heck, nowadays, I'm sure you'd find them online. When do you plan to retire? Yay for getting new glasses! Leslie, hope your hunt for a place to fill a prescription is fruitful. As for me, I quit working at Trade Tech today. The drive, an hour and half to get there even though it's only 9 miles away! Getting home is , but I've been getting lost coming home. I have trouble reading street signs at night, so I called in to say I quit. Now, I'll just tutor close by (pay is about 5 times less), but worth that now.

When we got the land, over 30 years ago, the plan was to built there for retirement but the plans did change over the years. Lots of new homes built around there but less stores and services then in the past, goes figure that one, so we keep it wild for now and the value is rising over the years. For now the plan is to keep it the way it is for as long as we can .
Deb, I am sorry you are having trouble driving at night but I think you did the safest thing for yourself.

Good morning Happy Tuesday Deb congratulations on quitting the Tech Trade best since the drive is so long and having to drive at night when having trouble to see is not save. Anick do you have a camper on the land my nephew bought a piece of land not far from him and parked his RV there so on weekends they go stay at the RV. But nice you have all kinds of plants you can get food from. Leslie make sure you get your prescription Lisa I had gotten my new glasses a couple weeks ago one for reading the other for driving but when I use the glasses for driving and take them off it makes me feel weird my eyes trying to focus. Diane so sorry Buddy is off and we pray he feel much better tomorrow. I remember you talking about those Egyptian Walking Onions and so glad they are doing well and ground cheeries doing good. That is great your husband adepts the recipe to how he likes I would not be able to do that. Carol I am like you I don't do too much baking or cooking being by myself. I do bake cookies for our craft sale in October and make deviled eggs every month for our Pot Luck Dinner. My happy is my friend Debbie her husband text me at 1 yesterday the surgery went well and she was in a bit of discomfort but alert she does not want visitors but she texted me throughout the day last night had some xrays taken as she had pain in her ribs doctor said it may be trapped air he also told her she may be in more pain the second day which is today but this morning she texted said so far the pain is not that bad. I was also happy I did 2 sets (three bowls) of wizard of Oz microwaveable bowls yesterday and my needle never broke. Heading to chair volleyball this morning and crafts at noone Hugs, Dee, Dallas and Belle.

Dee, hope your friend Debbie gets stronger every day.
Deb, you did what was best for you. A toasted tomato sandwich is easy. I just cut a thick slice of Sriracha bread, grate some cheddar cheese onto then put tomato slices on top of that. Put the whole thing into the toaster oven and toast until the cheese is bubbly!
Lisa, my MIL is getting her second cataract surgery soon and she is already looking forward to her new glasses! Saskatoon berries (which are also part of the Rose family!) are sweet with a slightly nutty taste. They are called Service Berries or June Berries in the USA.
Buddy seemed better in the evening and then he finally ate.
