Carol that is cool about the undertaker being a woman! Love to hear about women in non traditional roles! Anick so happy to hear it is not a second ! Only ten rows left! Woo hoo!!! Laura, Leslie, Marty and Kathy, hope you all had a good hump day! This week is going so fast!

Good morning everyone Happy Thursday Well Anick I am sure your shawl will be the perfect size. I guess I do put too much tension on my yarn for it to be smaller. The second ball of burgundy due on the 28th so I will work on the baby blanket till the yarn comes in will only need a little of it have 2 rows of border done only have 1 more to do. I am glad you had some cooler weather and enjoyed agility Carol it surprised me too that she wants to be a mortician or that she was even thinking about a future. I told her don't let any guy keep you from your goal get to it then get involved with a guy. At least it would be a secure job people are always dying and they get good money for funerals. Lisa I like to hear about woman in non traditional roles too. Is that book that you said good for a teenager to read I will get it for her to read. I pray if any of our members are in that path of the hurricane they are safe I heard it made landfall last night with winds of 150 miles. also for the fires in California glad to hear they are 90 percent contained I was told yesterday California is expecting a 10 or higher earthquake they are due for one. I don't think I would want to live in California they have been having a lot of disaster. We know Marty safe from fires but hope if there is an earthquake it is not near them. Leslie I am sorry your eyes swell up so you cannot be doing crochet like you enjoy. Today I am playing games with Rosemarie when done we are going grocery shopping then. Jerry bringing Chloe over for me to dog sit and some of their fresh eggs from their hens so I won't buy eggs from the grocery store. They are going where they usually go since they have their camper parked there. Laura your namesake has hit shore last night Hugs Dee & Tori

Lisa, I had a friend telling me she had heard one estimate that we will be wearing masks for the next four years. I sure hope that isn't right. Part of me wishes I was getting together with my ukulele buddies in person, but it's still a little warmer outside than what I want for playing. You should join us. Heck you can play the spoons, the kazoo or whatever. This Saturday is international Play Music On Your Porch Day. Last year I had a lot of fun with it. My next door neighbor and I got a little group together and played maybe for about an hour. We had her on fiddle, me on my banjolele, her dad on guitar, another neighbor on viola for a song or two and then on guitar, and a couple of others singing. We even had another lady from up the street that stopped to listen. It was a lot of fun. I had been looking forward to it again this year, but looks like I will be playing by myself on my porch. The next door neighbor and her parents are going to be at the beach, and the other neighbor now has three kids (the oldest 3 years old) and no one to help watch her kids so she can play. At the start of the year I had thought of sticking notes in paper boxes on the street inviting everyone to join in, but then the pandemic hit. I may try to plan something for next year. Thought I could have links to music online so everyone that wanted to participate could print out the songs and be practicing them if they wanted. Guess I can look at the pandemic as a way to have more time to plan for next year and get organized - pick out music and make it available online, etc. Dee, I had to laugh. Someone told me there was a petition to rename my namesake hurricane to Polo ... since Marco just hit. BOL On a more serious note, hope everyone is safe and has no damage from the storm. I am pooped! Yesterday I went over to cut up a large limb that had fallen at my parents house. They have a battery powered chain saw that I used for the first time earlier this year. When we headed out mom and dad came with me. Thought dad was just going to supervise, but he picked up the chain saw and got started on it. It actually made me very nervous. First, we were on a hillside, and his balance since his fall a couple of years ago just hasn't been good. Then, I don't think he seems as aware and careful as he used to me. The way he was standing to cut had his legs too close. Scared me to death. I was happy when he couldn't get to something because of branches in his way and he handed over the chain saw to me. I did the rest of it and didn't give it back to him. I am glad he felt well enough to get started on it, and wanted to do something and not just sit in his recliner, but I want everyone to be safe. How do you let him keep active and feeling useful, but keep him safe? Today I worked on my yard. Both yesterday and today have felt very humid. At this point I wouldn't mind a hurricane coming up through here so it could get the air moving better. hehe. I may have to eat my words. We had a lot of wind damage one year where hurricane made a path up this way and still had plenty of bluster left when it got here. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good morning everyone Happy Friday Carol we are too everyone is safe insurance will take care of property but we hope their family and pets are safe. So you are getting some rain. Oh till my yarn comes to finish the pocket shawl border I went to working on the baby blanket which is bigger than a normal baby blanket Kentucky suppose to get some heavy rains from the hurricanes. Laura you best not wish a hurricane could come your way would make things worse to clean up. It is hard to try to keep older people active and safe especially since your dad cant keep his balance I am glad he turned the chain saw over to you before something happened. I think that is neat you will plan a big get together for music better let neighbors know so they don't leave. Man if we are going to be wearing mask for 4 years that mean I may never have inside visitation with Ward and the senior center planning on opening in Spring but if wearing mask they may not but guess it depends on how the schools make out with starting back in person. Marty what are you doing for your vacation. Leslie any of the storm suppose to go up the north coast to you Anick how are you doing Kathy good luck in getting your ID card Today the Florence Senior Center is holding their first zoom bingo I was going to use my tablet get on from home but Rosemarie wants me to come to her house and get on her laptop so I told her I will come and play games with her and Di from 9 to 11 then go home for lunch let the girls out and come back to her house at 12:30 to get ready for zoom bingo I saw on facebook under weather a video of Lake charles LA from the hurricane what a mess and just 6 deaths mostly from fallen trees but they didn't start cleanup yet they may find more. Also a chemical plant on fire told people to close windows stay inside toxic to humans and dogs with no power and having to stay cooped up inside going to be pretty rough on them

I have not been around yesterday because my old Teddy had some kind of a seizure the night before. We are not sure what it really was because it was over when we got the vet and he did something like that last year too. Now he is tired, doesn't eat a lot but he is starting to walk on his own again so we are hopeful.

Dee, I was looking at pictures from LA and the hurricane damage as well. I can't imagine having to deal with some of the overwhelming clean up. Did you ever have any hurricanes hit in your area when you lived in FL? I hope the zoom Bingo goes well and everyone has a good time. Not the same as being there in person, but still nice to connect with others and have some fun. Anick, sending some gentle for Teddy. I sure hate to hear that. I know it can be frustrating when you don't know what's going on for sure. Hope it won't happen again any time soon, and hope Teddy will bounce back well. Please keep us posted. I have not looked at the weather to see if the remnants of Laura are still supposed to bring me some rain and thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow. I won't be surprised if we do get some weather out of it. The wind has picked up and the barometric pressure has dropped quite a bit and boy can my arthritis feel it. The wind isn't bad, and it's nice to get the air moving a little. Yesterday seemed so humid and stuffy. I'll have to see if I can find the thundershirt for Pip. She has never been a big fan of thunderstorms, but the last few she has been shaking like a leaf. Hate to see her so upset by it. Me, I love a good thunderstorm. I treated myself to a new music book. It's one that I think will be good for the bluegrass group at the library when we can meet again. It has two fiddle parts and mandolin tabs. What I like about it though is it comes with music you can download and play along with. Wish it had audio of all the parts together, but I can at least play along with either a fiddle or mandolin. I like that because even if I don't know the song I can hear how it goes. So I will be enjoying that this weekend. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good morning everyone Happy Saturday Anick we are for Teddy sorry to hear he had a seizure we hope he doesn't have any more Carol glad all your pups are doing well and congratulations on getting a new mower Laura when I lived in Florida I lived in the central part not on the coast line. I lived in Ocala Fl but my boss had told me if a hurricane every hit Daytona Beach head on we would feel more than just winds to knock down trees and overturn cars and we were an hour from Daytona Beach. I remember in 2004 I was watching my niece Amber who was 6 months old her parents both in the army were deployed to Iraq. We had 4 hurricanes hit in one month time one a week I bought her a shirt that said I survived and listed each hurricane. Whenever one was predicted I fixed our walk in closet in the bedroom for me, Ward, Amber and the 2 dogs at that time with their kennel and food and drink supplies just in case but watched the news since I had someone else kid if it was coming to Florida Ward and I took them went to a Georgie hotel stayed there watched the news but when it switched and was heading to Georgie then we drove back to Ocala. If it was just me and Ward we would have just made it to the closet there are no basements in Florida said to seek shelter in an inner room away outside walls. We were blessed our power went out for a couple hours then back on and no damager to our house and no flooding on our street but road going to work were flooded they were pumping water from them. But again Ocala just got heavy winds and rain or spin off tornado from hurricanes not hit directly with a hurricane. Our weather man told us we will be getting heavy rains the next couple days due to the hurricane Toby hoping mommy's eye doctor appointment goes well Tori goes to the vet for blood work on Monday Hugs Dee & Tori

Dee, yikes on four hurricanes in one month. I would have been thinking enough already. I'm glad you never had any damage from them while you were living there. I hope Tori gets a good report Monday. Is this just follow up to make sure meds are right and such? Hope nothing new going on. Anick sending more for Teddy. I hope his appetite will return soon. Is that a typical response from a seizure? Thankfully that is not something I have dealt with before. Will he drink any broth or can you put anything in his water to get a little nutrients in him? Keeping Teddy and the rest of the family in my thoughts and prayers. It's been a quiet morning here. Had a little left over rain to start the day, but sunny now. I meant to get out on the sun porch before it warmed up and play a little music for Play Music On The Porch Day, but I haven't done it. I may have to settle for playing music inside, but near my porch. BOL Leslie it's good to see you here! We've missed you. Hope you get some relief for your eyes when you see the doctor Monday. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good morning everyone Happy Sunday Anick we are for Teddy with my girls and their health I am glad they did not have seizures but will have to keep an eye on Tori as the support group for Cushings a lot talk about how cushings causes their dogs to have seizures and tumors. Laura i believe it is her yearly blood work she doesn't get the Cushing blood work till November to determine if she is still taking the right dosage for her cushings. I made it to check her anals as she keeps smelling them but they told me she is due for her blood work and why not do it while I have her there and I said fine. I have to get her dog food too down to one cane. Today or should I say this evening Jerry will be picking up Chloe so far I have had not problems with her attacking Tori now that I make sure their food dish is on opposite sides of the kitchen. Carol you get your new self propelled mower and soon it will be time you don't need to cut grass anymore Leslie I am your eye doctor can help with your eyes so you can get back to enjoying doing your crafts. Lisa the book The Stiff you recommended for Devan came the other day will give it to Jerry when he picks Chloe up this evening. The yarn hasn't come yet and they told me I can either cancel or get a replacement when I tried doing it told me could not for me to contact customer service I did that last night at 8:30 pm they asked if it was about the yarn I said Yes they asked has it come yet I said No so they said you are due for a replacement do you want a replacement i said yes so he said it will ship out but in the meantime if your yarn arrives then you can tell them this replacement you don't accept or ship it back. He said I should get it in a couple days. I have been working on the baby blanket I started before while waiting for the yarn. This is the first time ever ordering from Amazon my order did not come within 2 days. It shipped on the 24th so today will be 6 days. Hugs Dee & Tori

Dee, do you have Amazon Prime? I don't and sometimes it seems to take a while before my package ships. Glad they were able to set up a replacement and it wasn't a hassle. Hope one or the other arrives tomorrow. I need to do a big grocery shopping tomorrow. It seems like I have run out of about everything at the same time. Nothing exciting going on here today. My mom stopped by for some computer help, but other than that been a quiet day. I may have to try and sneak in a nap. I didn't sleep well last night. I seem to have a lot of nights I wake up sometimes multiple times during the night any more. Wish I knew what was causing me to wake. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)
