Leslie, I'm kind of glad he doesn't always tell me what he is sending. Adds to the fun trying to make guesses. I knew as soon as I saw the box though that it had to be an instrument and likely a ukulele of some type. I'll admit though my first thought was a tenor size. The bass was a nice surprise. I got a little time to play with it some last night and did better than I thought I would. I pulled out one of the books I have for fiddle club because it has audio files you can play along with. Some songs were too fast/had too many chord changes to be able to keep up, but I was able to do fairly well with some other songs from the book. There may not be as much learning curve as I thought there would be. Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of room for improvement, but I think I could join in on some songs with others before too long. Dee, is your weather going to be around 90 today? That's what we are getting here as well as an air quality alert. Seems early in the year for that. I know the next few days are going to be in the 90s. Hope the air quality alert won't be around more than today. Ginger, I can remember as a child having nights where my knees had me in tears. I also found massaging helped. And found heat helped more than ice. Once your knee flared, could that also make the fibro flare? Do anti-inflammatories help any with the fibro? I know keeping the anti-inflammatory going was a must with my knees. I think a pain management center is a good idea and I hope that will help a lot. There is a PT place near me that I had gone to for my back at one time. I didn't get to use it, but they have a warm water pool where they do some PT. Something like that might be good for your knee. You can get some resistance from the water, but you are not putting weight on the joint. Swimming was the one thing I could do growing up that didn't irritate my knees so much.
I'm almost glad for the air quality alert today. A good excuse not to work in the yard. I'm still a little sore and tired from yesterday. I have a big pile of branches to drag to the curb, but will wait until next weekend probably. The city will pick up things like that every other week. What I should do it buy a package of hot dogs and skewer and drag out the fire pit and have lunch. hehe. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Hello ladies!! DALLAS , mommy still can't get in using her Kindle. Well, using one of her Kindles. Her old one works. But it is such a pain typing with one of those, as you well know!! UsurpingToby , Pippi's mom sure has the best friends!! That is such an amazing gift!! Twinkle (My Sweet Angel) , we are so sorry your mommy is having so much trouble with her knees. Hopefully, some of this advice she is getting will really help, as well as the pain management and the PT! Pippi , how awesome that mommy got a bass ukulele!! And that she is already doing well at learning how to play it! Glad she is taking it easy today! Speaking of farting, mommy has a very embarrassing story to tell. Once, she was working the night shift at the library (until 8:00) and she had eaten almost a whole package of sugar free gummy bears. Well, let me tell you, those thinks give you VERY smelly gas! A patron who was working on the computers behind the reference desk came up and asked if we smelled anything funny! Mommy just shook her head!

Good morning everyone Happy Monday Ginger I am glad you feel like you have gotten some good advice from this group. Glad you found a PT place hope it helps you and hope you find a pain management or pain clinic to help. We are sorry that you have been so miserale and I don't blame you for not wanting to mess with your schedule as you have already taken quite a bit of time for this issue Laura you are right the suspense of what is coming is exciting rather than have him tell you and I am glad you had a chance to work with the bass ukulele and you feel you could join a group playing it even though still room for improvement. Laura our weather is reaching 85 today and I hope it stays nice as my niece called me last night said they are leaving Virginia on Wednesday instead of Thursday but will have to leave on Sunday instead of Monday so they will get in Wednesday night. Now mommy has to tell Rosemarie she won't be able to take her to Red Lobster to meet Di for lunch on Thursday. I go this morning for my eyes at 8:50 am will see if they plan on going ahead and removing cataracts soon so not sure if going to Rosemarie house she told me to call when I get out of the eye doctor appointment. I need to clean this house before the kids come. Tomorrow I want to make some homemade chocolate chip cookies they love my cookies and devilled eggs to put in the refrigerator and Wednesday do grocery shopping get some hamburger and hot dogs and sandwich meat they can make sandwiches and potato salad, macaroni salad and some strawberries for them to snack on while here. I am so excited Hugs Dee, Tori & Dallas Lisa I loved the picture of the Great Dane on the couch made me laugh so hard along with your funny story what happened to you at the library after eating a bunch of gummy bears. Maybe that was the patron's polite way to let you know she could smell your farts. Mommy used to get so embarrassed when having daddy in the grocery store he would cut fart sand mommy told him to stop but he would laugh another reason I went to the click shopping picked it up outside.

Sorry I have been missing, I got a few busy days. That great dane being afraid of the small pup is so much like Willy who is afraid of a tiny tea cup Yorkie on our walks. Everyone laugh when we pass that house and he get all nervous. My weather is finally nice enough to put the flowers in the garden, that will surely takes me all week as it always does. Willy as not done more agility since the last time but we are going later today, I will have an happy pup today!!!

Lisa, that picture is too funny. I do have some great friends. The one who sent this is the same one who has sent the other ukuleles and the mandolin. A very generous person to be sure. I really need to think of something I can do in return (that doesn't cost much unfortunately). BOL on your gas story. Tee hee hee. Gummy bears, eh? Who knew. Dee, glad your family will be getting there a day earlier. Woo-hoo! But I hate that you will miss Red Lobster. Nice that you won't have to play taxi driver though. I hope you got good news with your eyes this morning. You could use the excuse of going home to sit in the dark since eyes are dilated today. Anick, oh that is funny that the Yorkie makes Willy nervous. Wouldn't you love to know what goes through their mind sometimes? And woo-hoo for some agility time. I had some fun yesterday afternoon. I got together with some of my caching buddies and we played a game. It's a mystery/puzzle game. The story line was something like England in the 1870s and the police have been kidnapped. You have a map and clues and different puzzles to solve. First you have to figure out which building on the map they were all taken to. There were four or five puzzles to solve to get clues to figure that out. Then once you figure out the right building you have to solve puzzles to release them from the rooms and then to finally get back out of the building. You can play where you are playing against each other or as a group. We did it as a group and I was glad. We all had different ideas and ways of looking at things and solved different parts. It was a lot of fun. First time I've been out and doing something with more than just family or chatting with neighbors in a long time. I took snacks with me. I kept thinking how can you do snacks and still kind of social distance and be extra safe. So I got veggies (carrots, green beans, cucumber, red pepper, celery and broccoli) and put some of each in paper cups. Then I did other paper cups with some grapes. And finally some small cups with hummus. So everyone could just grab cups and not be touching anyone else's food. It worked well. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Hello everyone! Wow, it's hard to keep up with all the posts. That's one reason why I just write everything out directed at everyone. Once I get better, I am going to write down who is who. I do have fibro flare ups sometimes. Pain pills can help & sometimes nothing really helps. I just have to ride the storm out. Anti-inflammatories can help sometimes. I always have pain meds, anti-inflammatories & muscle relaxers at home. I have to take such powerful meds. I cannot count the times that doctors have accused me of being a drug addict because I take so many pills & powerful ones at that. Look at my medical history! I have tons of reasons why I am in pain alot. Give me freaking break. I am not a drug addict. That crap makes me so mad!
Now for the laughs. We all have embarrassing farting stories we could tell. I know I've blasted several co-workers before. I hope they didn't realize it was me. I get constipated from having fibro & from some of my meds. The longer you go without a poop, the more gas builds up & the nastier it can smell! I've ran my own self out of the room. It's funny that Twinkle seemed to love it! Seriously! She would move closer or stay put in the stink while I ran out of the room! She liked to watch me on the toilet too. She was an interesting furball sometimes. Her behavior was interesting.

I'm having a bad day with my knee today, so you have been extra on my mind. I am sorry that the doctors aren't taking into account your total medical history. Have you had any luck with alternative treatments like acupuncture? They didn't do much for me, but I did try. Laura is right that spaying/menopause does seem to make a big difference with both knee issues and Fibro for some reason. My aunt (with Fibro) told me how much better she felt after menopause, and even though I have something else, I felt much better also. I wish doctors would use artificial menopause as a treatment sometimes. Just reboot the system and see if things work better the second time around.
Dee, what did the doctors say about your eye? Will you have further treatment now?
I hope Willy has a fantastic time at agility! I remember how exhausted Geordie was when he came home from classes. Of course, to him it was a huge socializing event, so he wore himself out greeting and sniffing.
Pooks, how big are you? The Yorkie I know is such a tiny girl. She is only a little over 4 lbs.
Laura, who sets up those puzzles? It sounds like loads of fun. (And I noticed that you brought plenty of gas-inspiring snacks for everyone to eat!)

Dee, I hope you got good news on your eyes and they gave you hope that the being blinded by the white will improve! Oh, how fun that your family is coming a day early and what a good excuse to miss lunch with the "friends!"
Anick, how funny that a little Yorkie makes Willy so nervous! I know those little dogs can be very yappy! Maybe it hurts his ears?
Laura, that game sounded like a lot of fun! I love to play games and before the pandemic, I would get together with some of my friends about once a year for a games night. How thoughtful for you to bring all those snacks! Are you all vaccinated?
Carol, maybe that boy has only seen big dogs? Odd he would say "wow!"
Ginger, I sure am hoping for a turnaround in your health! Funny that Twinkle liked it! There is no explaining cats!! Ha!
Leslie I am sorry to hear you are having a flare-up! What do you do when the pain gets bad?
Okay, in my defense, those gummy bears were sugar free!! It makes a difference, which I did NOT know at the time!!

Oh the things we must learn from experience, eh? Mix those gummy bears with some olestra next time and see what happens! 😝
I foolishly touched my knee to the ground for about 3 seconds, and that was enough to cause me a good bit of pain today. First I take it easy and make sure not to stress the joint. Then massage and heat. If it had been worse, I would have taken a Motrin-like anti-inflammatory. Toby decided to make things hard on me by hiding his tennis balls under the furniture over and over.
Lisa, what is the frame like that you are using?

Good morning everyone Happy Tuesday Anick I bet you will be exhausted yourself after you get all your plants planted outside and hoping Willy has fun at agility. I think the shrill barking from the teacup yorkie is probably what makes Willy afraid of the yorkie Carol your Pooks is the size my Tiffany and AJ were no teacup yorkies there but those teacup yorkies are cute I think that yorkie that went missing on this street was a teacup since it weighed 4 pounds I only wished when I heard a thud on my roof I had gone out to check but I thought the kids next door had a ball that hit but when I saw the posting of the missing yorkie then I realized a bird must have dropped it to kill it then swooped down and got it back. My mind has been thinking about that poor Yorkie quite a bit. Laura so neat you got to have a game with your friends from caching and you brought along some vegetables for snack.s I did not have to go to Rosemarie yesterday as when I called and spoke to Di since Rosemarie phone clicked and nothing happened Di had told me she made plans with taking her husband to Lowes I said no problem I can go home and clean my house for the kids coming. Leslie so sorry to hear you are in pain with your knees. My eye doctor did not have to dilate my eyes just a follow up from both smoothing and polishing of eyes and eye exam to see if my vision was better it was and she told me I can put off having my cataracts removed for one year no later but sometimes when she tells people that then their cataracts grow quickly and they have to be removed before the year told me if any vision problems get in touch with them. I still complained about my sensitivity to brightness she said that is my dry eyes they are sensitive to light just keep putting drops in. I didn't tell her but I didn't have this problem with my dry eyes before the smoothing and polishing and buying those small eye drops bottles cost $15 each My dry eyes before only bothered me when on the computer but now since that procedure they bother me all the time. If you guys are ready for cataract removal my suggestion if you have dry eyes do not have the smoothing and polishing done just have them remove the cataracts. Lisa I love the shadow box you have for Tango Rosemarie called me yesterday evening to tell me Dorothy who when I first went to the senior center I sat at her table before joining Rosemarie table and she had came to the senior center just before we closed down for the virus to celebrate her 100th birthday. A couple weeks ago Rosemarie and I were talking about Dorothy I told her back then that Dorothy was really frail looking I didn't think she would be around well another senior center member told her Dorothy died a few months back but our oldest member who was on the news for the vaccine Alice did stop by to visit Rosemarie for a few minutes with a friend and she is still hanging on and in July she will be 105.Hoping the Senior Center will be opened by then so we can have a big birthday party celebration for her. Carol glad you are having another sunshine day we are reaching 85. After I get back from Rosemarie house today I will make some homemade chocolate chip cookies and devilled eggs for my nephew and when I finish that clean my kitchen and my bathroom and my house will be cleaned for them. I am so excited to be having them for a visit even though it is a short visit. Ginger I am so sorry you have so much medicine to take and the doctor that you were an addict which you are not. Heck Rosemarie has so many health issues it takes her over an hour to put her medication in these containers for the month. She sets them in a day by day container so she remembers to take all her medications. I am sorry you have fibro my ex boss had that constantly in pain my question to her was if she was in so much pain why would she sit for hours in a tree to go hunting for deer seems to me that would aggravate her pain. Everyone have a great day Hugs Dee, Tori & Dallas

Hi. I just got up a few minutes ago. I am working now. Fun!
Leslie- I have tried acupuncture once. It was a horrible experience all the way around. That doctor accused me of being on coke for one thing & of course, I sure don't mean the kind you drink! I never want to try that one again! Have you ever tried putting pain patches on your knees? What do you think of them? I mostly use them at night because they feel so uncomfortable during the day, at least they do to me.
Dee- I have dry eyes too. Thankfully they are not bothering me now that the weather has warmed up. I always make sure I have my blue light glasses on with I am on the computer & I try to remember to wear them when I am watching TV too, but sometimes I forget then.
Ok everyone, I have got to get back to work now. I'll be back later when I can catch a break.

Lisa the shadow box is beautiful!! Dee that would be so awful. Poor precious Yorkie. I didn't know anything about it. Pooks was 15 lbs at his highest weight. Now he is at 13 lbs. His vet lady wants him between 15 - 20 and I think at this stage in his life that might be to heavy. He eats like a big rotti, like Walker did LOL!! Prayers to all
