Carol I didn't realize Yorkies came in two sizes. Learned something new today. Now the big question is can I remember it? hehe.
Ginger, that is funny about Twinkle. My crew like to follow me to the bathroom. The dogs more so than the cats though.
Leslie, I was thinking similarly - alternative treatments. I don't like needles though so I was thinking acupressure/reflexology. And yes, menopause seemed to help so many things! Hopefully doctors will learn better how hormonal imbalances may affect us, and how to get things back in balance. I also think foods can often affect us in ways we didn't realize. Ginger, I really would encourage you to keep a food diary for a while and see if you see any patterns. You may find you have some that are triggering flare ups. One medical practice I had worked with had a dietician that was doing research on veggies/diet and your blood type. I should find out what my blood type is and do some research online. As best as I can remember she was saying that certain blood types do better with certain vegetables. And that if you know your blood type and eat right for it you will feel better. I'm afraid I couldn't tell you more than that. One other thing that I know can affect how much I am hurting is barometric pressure. Knowing that doesn't stop me from hurting, but helps me to understand when I may be more likely to hurt, and to plan activities taking that into consideration.
Leslie, I hope your knee settles back down quickly. How do you manage working in the garden? Do you have something you can sit on so you are not kneeling as you work?
Lisa, I love the shadow box! Was there a lip holding the back in? Any chance that could have been the side that was supposed to hold the glass?
The game was a lot of fun. And we put off playing it until everyone had been vaccinated. I wouldn't have gone if I hadn't been. This game was a little like a break out room kind of thing. Have you ever done one of those? I did once, but not with the best group of people. We had a couple that wanted to solve it alone and would not share ideas or information. Works much better when you have people who work well together.
Leslie, with the game we played it comes with everything you need - it's set up. There was a map, photos, newspaper clippings, letters, etc. There is also a web site to go along with it so you can check to see if your answers are right or to get a hint if needed. This is the one we played ... Blackbrim 1876
When we have gotten together to work on geocaching puzzles I have brought snacks. I do it for a few reasons. 1. I sometimes want a healthier snack. 2. If I bring something to eat then I know there will be something there I can eat. 3. If someone else is hosting (and buying the game) this is a way to give a little back for their hospitality. The group had originally talked about getting pizza (I don't do well with pizza because of the cheese - talk about gas!), but the day before the game the host said he would have snacks but if anyone else wanted to bring some that would be good. I was a little surprised no one else brought any. And the hosts snacks were peanuts and caramel candies. Unless they are raw peanuts with no oil and salt on them I can't eat that - it is probably the oil, but something in them sets off my knees. And I don't need the candy.
Dee, will you see Rosemarie and Di today and tomorrow or can you say you are getting ready for company? And I'm assuming you won't go over while your family is in town. You will have a nice break.
I hope you will not need to have the cataracts addressed sooner. Hmm. I would have been tempted to tell her that the light sensitivity was new.
I'm sorry to hear about your friend Dorothy. And go Alice! 105 ... just hard to imagine. And still able to get out and around some. Fantastic. I used to work with a lady who's grandmother made it to 108. I think she managed to live at home until she was 107.
Anick, that reminds me of some of the hikes I would take the dogs on in the past. We would all be tired at the end of the hike, but the dogs would nap while I drove home. It was often 45 minutes to an hour to get home. But then they were refreshed and ready to go again and I was ready for my nap!
Ginger, would yoga or tai chi be a good option for you? Something that would keep you moving, but not be jarring? And do pain management centers look at ways to manage pain other than medication? I have no doubt medication has to be a part of it, but do they also try to find other ways to hopefully help or minimize some of the medication?
I could not get to sleep last night and boy am I dragging now. I think it would be hard to nap right now though even if I could stop and do that. I've been listening to jack hammers most of the morning. Been having to listen to a lot of that lately. I know sometimes they have to do that, but gosh I wish they could spread it out more and not have to hear it day after day after day all day long. One more reason I am not thrilled with the new development going in near me.
Has anyone besides me ever looked for a $3 item on Amazon to get your order up to $25 to get free shipping? hehe That is what I am doing. I can find plenty of expensive things I want, but I'm trying to keep cost down.
