Lisa, I'm glad Chuck is better today. Hope it was a wake up call to be more careful with the heat. Dee, I'm glad Jerry got the yard done, but sorry he didn't have a little time to give Tori some attention. Perhaps tired from driving back from vacation and then doing the yard? That's a neat way to save the t-shirts. You will have to take a picture when it is done. Carol, pillows are another good idea for saving t-shirts. I have to admit it brought back a giggle to me. I went to visit my brother once years ago before he was married. He didn't have a clean pillow case for the guest bed, so he put one of his clean undershirts on it instead. hehe Ginger that's neat that your work reminds you of things like that. I wish my sheets were in washing. Short of that I wish the fairies had come in while I was grocery shopping and at least changed the sheets. I could live with them sitting in the laundry basket until tomorrow. hehe I don't watch a lot of movies these days. I can't even tell you the last time I sat down and watched one and wasn't doing something else at the same time. Lately I've been doing more reading than watching TV or movies. Thinking of horse racing makes me think of My Fair Lady. Do people here wear hats to go see the races? We had a good thunderstorms come through last night around 2:30 AM. It was a hum dinger. I lost a good size branch out of a tree. It's held up in other trees. I'm going to have to see if I can get the pole saw out and reach any of it tomorrow and see if I can get it down. Thank goodness it is going to be a little cooler than today. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Oops. How did I miss your post Leslie? I was thinking you had done a t-shirt quilt, but couldn't remember. I've not tried that before. How is the garden coming along? How long before you will be able to stat enjoying some goodies from it?

Good evening everyone!!
Oh Leslie, Toby is not evil!! He is just, um, different!! And you thought Geordie was a bitey dog!! Hee hee!
Dee, that is such a nice idea and the fact that you made it out of her husband's tees means she will love it no matter what!
Carol, when my mom died, a familly friend made sweet little angels out of my mom's favorite nightie. I still have mine. I have no idea if my step sisters have theirs! Pillows is a good idea, though!
Ginger, live and learn, huh? At least you learned a valuable lesson about what affects you! Enjoy your races!! I'll e at work, but maybe not for the last day? I'll have to see if the library has that movie if you liked it enough to watch it twice in a row!!
Laura, Chuck is quite stubborn, So I can only HOPE he learned his lesson! Speaking of washing the sheets and blankets, I washed his for him. He has three large, shedding dogs! You should have seen the lint thingie from the dryer! Hee hee!

Lisa, time to knit a sweater from all of that dryer fur! 😆
Yes, I’m thinking of calling Toby Biteybitey Dog. Who would have thought I would ever meet an even bitier dog that Geordie?
A while ago I made a teddy bear out of a knit T shirt. The project was a real “bear”. Mwahaha!
Garden goodies start coming in in July around here. If they survive the bunnies, that is. This evening on a very short walk, I must have seen a dozen bunnies. Bad news for veggies.☹️

Good morning everyone Happy Tuesday Leslie I think I will ask Mary if she wants sashing between each shirt or just plain shirts together I have been watching You Tubes where guys were putting them together without sashing and one woman was too but a lot of ladies put sashing on theirs but said up to individual. I would rather just put them together and not worry about sashing but since Mary is having it on her will let her make the choice. I see quite a few use the bridled fleece as a backing and do not put any batting between it just the interfacing on the shirts so they don't stretch Carol it is the first time I have ever tried to work with tee shirts. I know my cousin Cindy in Lincoln Nebraska who does quilting has worked on tee shirts said she loved it. But of course she does hers by sewing machine mine is all hand sewn. Ginger that is a lot of useful information for elder abuse a lot of elder abuse happens in nursing homes yet they say check your loved ones for signs of abuse. During the virus you are not allowed inside and finally we were allowed to see them outside once a week only 15 minutes but 6 feet away so you really can't tell signs of abuse I do know my husband was not eating as he was losing a lot of weight. He is in a far better place now in heaven with God that what he was going through. Enjoy your Royal Ascot races Lisa I have never done tee shirts before I know one time Joan in my Cairn Chat asked if I could take her daughters clothes when they were little and make a quilt and I told her I have never done stuff like that and would hate to mess up her kids clothing. I will be posting pictures. Glad Chuck is doing better How cute sweet angels out of the nighties do you have a picture of the angels. Laura sorry you had a thunderstorm during the evening had a branch come down need to go and get it cut up A cute story about your brother having no clean pillowcases and used a shirt to cover his pillows. I will be sure to take pictures of the tee shirt quilt when done it will keep me busy till time I have to move. Leslie I know from experience when we have a great dog when they go to the bridge the next one we get even if the same breed never has the qualities we have in the one we lost. Tiffany loved people loved going for rides had to be with me where I went on the bike, the lawn mower but Abigale June only came to me when she was sick didn't want to socialize and always got car sick. My doctor's office called me yesterday morning my doctor was not feeling good so she did not come in so they rescheduled my appointment to Tuesday, June 22 at 10 am and after I played games took Rosemarie grocery shopping she wanted to stop by Arby for a Turkey Ranch Dressing Sandwich and rootbeer float so we got Di a sandwich too when we got back to Rosemarie house Di was out cutting her grass. Rosemarie said she still was not feeling good unable to sleep but needed to go grocery shopping. Today we are suppose to meet Kathryn at 11;30 after we play games at Kelly Q's in Walton Ky for lunch Hugs Dee, Tori & Dallas

Lisa, could you have made a small Chihuahua with the hair in the lint trap? hehe Leslie, I don't know why, but I was thinking Toby was Bitey Dog rather than Geordie. BOL on the bear of a bear. Hmm. Material too stretchy? Bet it was cute when you were done. My neighbor said something has really been getting his garden this year. So it's not doing as well as usual. He's seen two bunnies. I've seen at least one in my yard. Dee, wow on everything being hand sewn. I don't think I would ever finish anything if I didn't use a machine. I hope you had a nice visit with Kathryn. How long has it been since you were able to see her? Whew. I'm pooped today. I got out and got the large branch out of the other trees. I had to use the pole saw for part of it, and a ladder. Eventually got it out. Got the smaller limbs drug around to the curb, and got the large part of the branch sawed up to use in my fire pit this fall. I got a fair chunk of wood for it. The branch was larger than I had thought. It came down during a good thunderstorm during the night. I could really hear the wind. I lost a few smaller branches off some of the other trees trying to get the large one the rest of the way down. But luckily I didn't do much damage. After that my mom came over and helped me move a tall book case to her house. I have some other furniture moving to do around my house, but I was too tired to tackle any more today. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good afternoon ladies!
You know, Leslie, that would be a very useful skill around my house! But, I can tell you, just the thought of it makes me itch!! BiteyBitey Dog, or maybe BiteySleepy dog! Ha ha!
Dee, I still have the one I kept and will get a picture of it soon to post. I'm sorry you had to reschedule! How are your eyes doing these days?
Carol, you are right; that is a lot of work!!
Laura, I'm glad you were able to get all the branch cutting down done! You always impress me with how much you can do! And yes, I definitely could have made a whole Tango sized Chihuahua!

Good morning everyone Happy Wednesday Leslie we had the 70's yesterday too and today reaching 77 Lisa will be looking forward to seeing the picture when you can post it. Leslie was doing bears offered to do one for Ward but his shirts he wore I gave them to the nursing home for people who could use them I did not want to go back there to pick them up. Laura you were me out with all that yard work. I know doing the quilt tee shirt is a lot of work but would rather do that type of work inside than outside doing hard manual work in the yard. It has been 2 years since we saw Kathryn she was looking good and great to visit for one hour she is going to check when her husband will be coming back from his hiking trip and wants to have us to her house before he comes home. She will let us know. The lunch at Kelly Q;s was good Kathryn and I both got the tuna sandwich which was overfilled but delicious it came with chips I got regular chips and Kathryn got BBQ said they were spicy. Rosemarie got the foot long hot dog with chili and cheese said the chili a little spicy next time she will go with the tuna like us. I was the only one to order dessert I got a banana split it was soft ice cream but delicious. We had separate bills. Today going to Rosemarie for games. Mary bringing the tee shirts tomorrow. I dug through my boxes for my quilt cutter, safety pins and the ruler for cutting the tee shirts as I had all my crafts packed. Carol you are right watching the You Tube of people putting the shirts together is a lot of work cutting, then ironing on the fusible paper and sewing on strips if the person wants strips and sewing each shirt together Hugs Dee, Tori & Dallas

Laura- Yes, tons of people wear hats to the races. That's quite a popular thing to do. Yikes on that tree situation. I don't have any trees in my front or backyard. I'm actually glad. I don't have to fear one falling on my house. I just bought it in November 2018.
Leslie- I think that's a new, cute name for Toby. I always got a kick out of Geordie at The Fancypants Cafe.
Lisa- I am planning on working Saturday. If I do, I'll miss the races. I can always catch them on YouTube. It'll be on NBC Saturday, I think.
Dee- Yes elder abuse runs more rampant than we realize. My grandmothers were in nursing homes. So was one of my grandfathers. They were all treated terrible, especially my grandmothers. I can't count the times I saw & heard staff being nasty to the elderly there. They are so expensive & once someone can't care for themselves they have to go somewhere. We were all working then. We couldn't care for their needs anyway. I worry that my parents might end up in a home. Heck, I might one day. What can you do?

Quick post this morning. I'm running out of time. The 70s sounds nice. It was almost cool out this morning when I went out to feed the birds. Loved it! Too bad I didn't wait and work on the branch this morning. Would have been cooler than what I was working in yesterday. Dee, I will agree. I'd rather be working on some craft inside than the yard work outside. Hehe. But I can't afford to pay someone to do the outside work. So that just leaves me to do it. Ginger, I love hats and always enjoyed seeing all the hats in the race scene in My Fair Lady. I wish people still wore hats all the time. I've got lots of trees and still miss my big oak. I really love the shade from them, love hearing the leaves blow in the wind, enjoying seeing the birds and squirrels in them. I guess you can say I really like trees. hehe. My grandfather had been in a facility for Alzheimer's patients. My mother would visit him every day and kept an eye on things. I think we were very blessed to find a good facility for him. The times that I was there I never saw it dirty, it never smelled, I never saw any of the staff being anything but kind. And some of them had the patience of a saint dealing with some of the non-stop behavior of some of the patients. But from everything we saw they were gentle and kind to the residents there. I sure hope if I ever need to be in a place I will be lucky enough to get one like that. Well, much to do and not enough time to get it all done anyway. Better get to it. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Oh Leslie, we would LOVE to have some of your cooler temps!! Yesterday on my way home, the air in my car started to go out again. Needless to say, it was not a very pleasant ride home! Chuck thinks he fixed it. Thank goodness! Dee, glad your had a nice visit with Katheryn. Did you say you knew her from the adult center? I love tuna salad sandwiches, but am afraid to order them out! Ginger, sorry you can't watch the race live, but as long as you can avoid hearing who wins beforehand, youtube should be fine! Speaking of elder abuse, there is a facility here who had a woman who was non-vocal and non-ambulatory )not an elder, but needed full time care) who was raped by a nurse, got pregnant and gave birth. No one knew she was pregnant! Another patient was fund with maggots in a surgical opening!! Laura would you call yourself a tree hugger? Hee hee! ALL care facilities should be like that! And if the nurses can't handle it, they are in the wrong line of business! I can't help but wonder what happens to those who can't afford full scale nursing? Do they become homeless or do we take care of them, as it should be! I don't know if I mentioned this, but a friend of mine and I are making greeting cards each month for our book discussion members. We did origami one month, buttons, zentangle, sprigraph and I can't remember wat else! Here's some of the cards with buttons! We also did buttons to look like a bouquet of balloons, but I don't have any pictures of those.

Good morning Happy Thankful Thursday Ginger you are correct some of us can't afford a great nursing home will have no choice but to go to one but I pray I die before it comes to that. Laura i think that is great that your grandfather was in a nice one that was clean the one Ward was in was really nasty and stunk. There were a few employees that were nice but the majority would not even speak to you. Yes Kathryn was at the Walton Senior Center when I first joined she would help me pin my quilts after our bingo game she quit coming after the manager said something smart alec to her. Lisa I read about a woman getting raped in a nursing home and ending up pregnant. That was a terrible place. I love the cards you made they are adorable. Hugs Dee, Tori & Dallas Mary is bringing her tee shirts this afternoon for me.
