Got a lot to do outside too but I got allergies that turn out very bad this year and the side effect from the second dose of the vaccine, got it 2 days ago, were harder than the first shot for me so I still hurt and have a small but annoying headache.

Carol, I'm with you. I'd rather have weather where the temp and humidity is nice enough you can have the windows open. I don't get that in the summer here though. Lisa, my allergies are stirred up again today, but I "mowed" this morning. So I know why. I'm not sure what set them off the other day. Boy today I could tell the humidity is up. Ugh. Dee, it was my friends who had raked up cicadas, and luckily for me I wasn't the one raking them into a pile. I haven't heard any in my yard yet this year. Anick, I'm sorry to hear you had more trouble with the second dose of the vaccination. Hope the headache will go away soon. Even a mild one gets old in a hurry when it hangs on for days. Glad I got my yard work done this morning. Partly because it was cooler and partly because some thunderstorms are popping up this afternoon. Hearing a second one moving in and sounds like more to come. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good morning everyone Happy Saturday Laura sorry I thought you raked up the cicadas but am glad you got your yard work done before the storms hit. We had some thunderstorms too. Lisa dropped Chloe off on Thursday and they never cut the grass before going when they came over for my birthday it started to rain so they didn't cut it then so pretty high. Anick sorry the second shot is causing you more problems that your first shot and you are sore and have a headache hoping your headache will be gone today Rosemarie was complaining yesterday we playing games that she was dizzy and sick to her stomach from vertigo but I told her why are you playing games if I was sick and dizzy I would not be playing games she said she just mustered it up to play. Her granddaughter gave her some pills she had to take for her vertigo a couple weeks ago but Di texted Rosemarie doctor to make sure it was okay for her to take them he said yes and said something else he called in a prescription Di picked up for her. So today if she is feeling better I am taking her grocery shopping while Di and Bill are out for the luncheon date. Hugs Dee, Tori & Dallas & Chloe

Dee, I hope the weather will cooperate for yard work when Lisa and Jerry get back. Not that I want you to have to take Rosemarie shopping, but I hope she feels better today. No fun feeling dizzy or sick to your stomach. That is a miserable feeling. Nothing exciting going on here today. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Oh Carol, I am so jealous of your rain! We are over 110, getting to 118 by Thursday! I pray our monsoon is not another nonsoon. We really need the rain!
Dee, hope Jerry and Lisa can do the yard for you on Monday! And that Rosemarie is feeling better. Is it meclizine? That is what my doctor proscribed when I felt dizzy.
Anick, I am so sorry the second dose is kicking your butt! I hope you feel better soon and Willy is behaving for you!
Laura, do you wear a mask when you mow? I wonder if that would help. I know, it would be HOT, but maybe worth it?
Yesterday, I took Charly to the vet for her booster shot. She is doing really well, and but on about a pound!! I also went to the grocery store, and really need to mop, but didn't have the energy for that! It sucks getting old!

Good morning everyone Happy Sunday Lisa I am not sure what the doctor prescribed for Rosemarie but she did not go grocery shopping though she said she felt better did not want to chance walking from the car and all around the store. We did play games yesterday. I hope it doesn't rain Monday either they will pick up Chloe Sunday this evening but am sure they will be too tired to cut the grass. Today we are having clear weather reaching 84 I am glad we are not having 118 like you and to think Ward mentioned moving to Arizona before we moved to Florida. We chose Florida as our friends lived there we knew no one in Arizona. Carol glad you had some awesome lightning and a breeze. It was breezy here yesterday saw the tree waving and thundering and rain Lisa I hope the weather is clear for Jerry and Lisa to cut grass on Monday. Rosemarie said she is feeling better with the medicine but did not want to chance walking around the grocery store but we played games/ I hope she is better by Tuesday we are suppose to meet Kathryn another Senior Center member for lunch in Walton at 11;30 after we play games. Plus Wednesday they are having her granddaughter Tina husband Josh over to celebrate his birthday. Hugs Dee, Tori & Dallas and Chloe

It's been hot here too. I don't get out much. I can't do alot of walking because of my knees. They've been flaring up again because I have been eating too much junk lately. I swear sugar & eating too many baked goods will kill you. I have felt awful the past several days. I'm so glad we weren't working this Saturday. I would not have felt like it. I've spent most of my weekend in bed. When I wasn't in bed, I was mostly watching horror movies.

Ugh Lisa, I cannot even imagine trying to cope with your weather. I don't care if it is a dry heat. Those temps just sound awful. I hope you have a good monsoon season and some relief from the heat. I also hope your power never goes out or you a/c has trouble! Sometimes I wear a mask when mowing and it does help some. The other day it was just so humid and the air already seemed thick. So I didn't add a mask. I was afraid it would feel like I couldn't get enough air. I need to do some mopping in the kitchen. I did part of it yesterday and then moved things around. Now it looks like I didn't mop. At least I was able to get rid of some stuff and find better places for some stuff. I finally hung a little nick knack shadow box and some small shelves my grandfather made. With everything yesterday and today Pippi has been so under foot. I know she just wants to be close and not miss anything and that her vision is playing into this, but I had to step over her what felt like 100 times. I wish when I'm trying to get a lot done she would be content to find a good dog bed and rest and then I can snuggle her when I am done. Dee, I'm glad Rosemarie is feeling better, but also glad you didn't have to take her shopping yesterday. I'll keep my fingers that weather works out for Jerry and Lisa to get the lawn tomorrow. I would probably be too tired after driving home from a trip. So I can't blame them for not wanting to do it today. Ginger I'm really sorry to hear things have flared up again. Are you starting to notice more trouble after certain foods? I hope you will be able to figure out your triggers and also find the right balance of walking/exercise to help. I know sometimes for me that can be a fine balance. Carol, send a little of that cooler, less humid air this way. hehe I woke up around 3:30 this morning I think because I was too hot. I had Pip on one side, Nimbus on the other and Inky on top of me. Cheeky was near my head but not touching me. But the other three had me sweating. After I woke up I could not get back to sleep. I tossed and turned until around 6. I could go for a nap right now. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Dee, I hope Rosemarie is feeling better in time for your lunch outing!! Well, I hope she is feeling better anyway!
Ginger, I am sorry about the flare-up! Knowing what foods trigger is good to know, but you still have to avoid them, and that is the hard part!
Carol, we avoid the outside when it is that hot! Yesterday, Chuck was out in it too long and got a touch of heatstroke. He is better today!
Laura, they ARE awful, but you learn to cope. Ooh, that does sound like a sticky situation! You'd think they would get overheated, too! I hope you can get a nap in!

Good morning everyone Happy Monday Wow Lisa sorry Chuck was out in that heat too long and had a slight heat stroke but glad he is feeling better. I have a doctor appointment this morning at 8:20 then to Rosemarie house to play games after the games she wants to grocery shop out of bread. I need to get eggs so I can make deviled eggs for Father's Day on Sunday Ginger sorry you ate so much junk food with sugar that caused your knees to flare up making you miserable to where you stayed in bed and watched horror films Laura thank you for the prayers Jerry did come over at 5 pm to cut grass Tori and Chloe were going crazy and barking seeing him outside but when he finished cutting grass he came in and got Chloe and left poor Tori upset he didn't pay attention to her. Sorry it was so humid you did not wear a mask while cutting grass and that Pippi was underfoot and them laying on you woke you up too hot. I got a text from a lady I worked with her in Kentucky her husband passed away in April she wanted to know if I would make a quilt from her husband's tee shirts. I told her I have never done it before but was checking you tube how to do it and if she is willing to chance it knowing I have never done it before I will do it. She is bring his shirts over on Thursday will let her know I don't take it to quilter for fancy designing but if she wants it done by a quilter when I finish putting it together I will give it to her to take to a quilter but if she is like me she probably won't be able to afford a quilter will just be satisfied with having them made into a quilt. I did order a special tag to go on the quilt when I finish it and ordered the stablizer to put on the back of the tee shirts. Pooks I did not know you reaching 104 the highest we have were in the mid 80's today going to 86. I need to blow a blow dryer mine died today could not dry my hair after my shower I checked other plugs but it was the blower dryer. Hugs Dee, Tori & Dallas

That sounds good Dee. When mu hubby's mom died her daughter had a lady make pillows out of her T-Shirts so each grand child could have one. They turned out ok. thing about that was the shirt/pillow make died after the pillows were done. You just never know. My one brother lived in AZ for one year and he said there were tiers at the edge of some of the roads from the heat. Have a super day all. Carol & Pookah

I just got an email at work stating that tomorrow is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. I knew this day existed, but I did not know when it was. I went to a website to find out more. WEAADWorld Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) was launched on June 15, 2006 by the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse and the World Health Organization at the United Nations. The purpose of WEAAD is to provide an opportunity for communities around the world to promote a better understanding of abuse and neglect of older persons by raising awareness of the cultural, social, economic and demographic processes affecting elder abuse and neglect. In addition, WEAAD is in support of the United Nations International Plan of Action acknowledging the significance of elder abuse as a public health and human rights issue. WEAAD serves as a call-to-action for individuals, organizations, and communities to raise awareness about elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation. As for myself, I am working right now & washing all of my bedding. It sure needed it. I don't feel the best, but that's nothing new. I do notice a difference in how I feel depending on what I eat & drink. That was dumb of me to buy all that junk & eat it up super fast (that was the dumbest). I hadn't had this junk in a while, so I wanted it. I won't be doing that again.I did watch a movie called The Words with Bradley Cooper & Jeremy Irons twice in a row. It's not a horror movie. I thought that movie was great! I don't want to say what it's about, but I loved it enough to break away from my horror movies for a few hours.
The Royal Ascot races start tomorrow on NBCSN from 7:30-12:30 Central Time until the last day. I haven't checked to see about that yet, but I think the last day is on NBC in case anyone might be interested. I will have my TV on so I can listen. When they are getting ready to race, I will go into the living room to watch. I am really looking forward to this.

Dee, I’ve done some work like what you described with the T shirts. The worst part about them is fusing all of that interfacing. It is hot work, and doing it in the summer is yucky. Don’t worry, though, you’ll do great! Are you going to put sashing between the different shirts?
I don’t think I could stand the hot temps some of you get. It sounds so oppressive. What do you do to treat heat stroke?
