Good morning everyone Happy Monday. Leslie I was trying to think of what Laura said I remember you talking about the Balls Paisley affecting your face. Is there a cure for Balls Paisley? I am so sorry you are having all these issues which prevent you from doing your beautiful crafts. Carol I know you work in your garden and have always taken care of your kids so not sure if you have had time to do any crafts. Lisa Happy Birthday to the Wild Ones. Tomorrow we drive by the Senior Center to pick up our membership packet and we have to complete it and bring it to the opening on July 6. Rosemarie when she has me run her places will buy my lunch which she figures pays for the gas to get to the grocery. But the other day she gave me $20 cash for gas which she doesn't do too often but when she does I guess she figures I am a taxi driver and should drive her where and when she wants to go. But yesterday when I went to her house just to sit on the sunporch from 10:30 to 12 she had to go in for lunch I told her I was going home to work on my quilt. She said pick her up at 9:30 today and we will go to Meijers so glad she changed her mind about Target. But if she buys anything that needs refrigeration she will have to take into the restaurant with her she said while we are out we can have lunch. For someone that has problems with her legs swelling she certainly wants to walk a lot at grocery store with cart to hold on to. She called last night they have to use up their Omaha Steak Hamburgers so Bill is going to cook them on the 4th of July and I am invited but I told her my sister my be in town she said if she is she is invited but not sure if my sister comes if she will bring her daughter and grandson in that case I really don't want to go to Rosemarie with all of them. Will see as I don't know when in July she is coming. Leslie I can't wait for the Senior Center to open and then for me to move and let someone else do her bidding for her. Carol you stay safe in those storms you are getting Laura I know it is rough with Pippi wanting to touch your legs and so small he can cause you to fall and get hurt. I use to carry my Tiffany around since she could not see or hear. I have the border down on the quilt now I just have to tack down the rows to keep them in place will be posting a picture soon after I get the tag which has not arrived yet. Hugs to all Dee, Tori & Dallas

Leslie, I'm sorry about your injuries. I have suffered plenty of injuries all over my body, so I know what that feels like. I hope you can find some good doctors.
As for marriage & children for myself, I have lived alone for so long, it would be weird to have a husband. I'm not opposed to marriage, I just don't see it happening for me anytime soon, if ever. I am about to turn 44 & I have tons of health issues. There's no way I would have a baby now. I am not interested in adopting a baby, child or teenager either. I would like a adopt a kitten, but I am not ready yet. I have a feeling that whatever kitten I do adopt, she'll probably find me instead of me finding her.
Right now I am concerned about getting healthier & my job. This week is going to be a bit stressful at work. Things usually are around holidays. We have limited staff to do the work, for one thing. I'll have to closeout the timecards early on Friday instead of the usual Monday because we'll all be off. The 7th is my birthday. There's alot going on now.

Dee a long time ago I did make bracelets. I had forgotten. It was a mail order company and I put beads on safety pins and the safety pins on an elastic string. They send you the supplies and you make it and send back to them. If they liked your work they would pay you. LOL! I didn't do that for long. No real profit. Other than that no crafts. Always busy painting, mowing, cleaning something. I have a hard time just sitting still outside. I feel like I should be doing something LOL!! Carol & Pookah

Good afternoon ladies! Dee, I am sorry about your favorite tee shirt! I have learned to =never put anything in the dryer until I am absolutely positive the stain is out! And I'm really sorry about how your so called friends treat you! You deserve so much better! I agree with Leslie on that! Leslie, oh, I sure hope that sports medicine place takes new patients! I remember when I did my student teaching. It was with fourth graders. That is the age they are just learning about humor, it seems and they were a lot of fun! The Chihuli exhibit was fascinating. I took a ton of pictures but of course I can't find them now. Here are a few from the Internet. Laura, I wonder if you can make a bigger carrier for Pippi? You are VERY handy with sewing and can do anything! You have the one Cheeky fits in for a pattern. Or would she be too heavy? Ginger, I toyed with adopting for a while (NEVER wanted to give birth!) but as I have never been married, it just didn't seem like a good idea. Besides, I love the freedom of not having those responsibilities! I'm sorry about your health issues, but glad to hear you are being proactive about them! Carol, my brother tried doing something like that once, too, but it was making clowns. Needless to say, he never did get ONE made! He couldn't use a sewing machine to save his life Haha!

Leslie, hope the clinic is taking new patients and can help you. BOL on the censored mail and the drawings. Too funny. As I was going through some boxes the other day I found some things my neice and nephew had drawn when they were little. Also some paper dolls my neice had made. She used to make them all the time and write plays for them to perform. Those were entertaining sometimes. hehe. I was glad I had kept those. Brought a big smile to my face when I found them in that box. Dee, what sort of stuff was in the membership packet for the senior center? Did you have to do a packet when you first joined? That's nice that you have an offer for burgers on the 4th if your sister isn't in town. I can understand not wanting to go if you do have company though. I wanted to ask you again about your medical alert system you have. What brand is it? And do they have different models or plans? I think my dad is about ready to get something. They are looking for advice on what's out there now. I think you answered this the other day, but are you happy with yours or would you rather have something different? Ginger, I saw an interview on the news once with a couple that was celebrating their 75th wedding anniversary. The newscaster asked them what was the secret to such a long and happy marriage. I had to laugh when the couple said they live next door to each other and not in the same house. I think I could do that. hehe Carol, I was talking to a neighbor the other evening and he mentioned he used to make jewelry. He's always doing something around his house and a very handy person. My sister can't sit still. She likes to be on the go, especially hiking and such. I have said for years and years I think she got all my energy. Although I do like to hike. Just not in the summer. hehe. Lisa, the Chihuli does look interesting. I like that! I think Pippi would be too heavy and a little too long for it to be comfortable. Add to that as I have been going through things I have been carrying a lot of stuff back and forth and up and down the stairs. Pippi weighs about 15 lbs, and without carrying her my back has already been bothering me with how much I have been on my feet. My mother came over and helped me tip my table over and take the legs off. It's a heavy table with a butterfly leaf folded into the top. That adds some weight. Apart it will be easier to move upstairs. The next job in this musical furniture game I am playing, is to get a large chair from the room upstairs and bring it down to the living room. I don't think my mom can help me with that, and I'm not quite sure who I will get to help me move it. My sister has mentioned her son may come over for a visit this summer and maybe he will help me. The chair has to come down before there is room to bring the table up. Doesn't this sound like fun? hehe - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Lisa, ooh, that glass is really neat!! I would have enjoyed that exhibit.
Laura, good luck with that game of Musical Furniture. I hope you can get someone to help so the work goes quicker.
Caron, making clowns? That sounds like a difficult home job. I don't think I could do it. I am like you in that I am uncomfortable being idle. I prefer to keep busy.
I tried to brush Toby this evening, and he growled and bit me. He snapped off one of my nails, and now it is hard for me to type. Honestly, I don't know what to do with that boy....
Ginger, sending wishes that work goes smoothly for you. At least you enjoy your job, eve if it can be stressful.

Good morning everyone Happy Tuesday Lisa sorry you can't find your pictures of the The Chihuli exhibit but I loved the pictures you found on the internet those are very interesting plants and loved the orange tree. So when is the best time to visit that exhibit Ginger I can understand your not wanting to adopt but maybe a cat later as you are more concerned now about your job. So you have a lot of things going on for your birthday coming up the 7th Funny your brother couldn't use the sewing machine. I hand sew my stuff don't have a sewing machine. Lisa I liked the first thing I used before when in Florida the one Great Call Mr. Walsh (Adam Walsh if you remember the young boy went missing) advertised. They have different things you can go on their sight check it out before buying you could probably do a review. I only used the necklace to wear outside and around the house but though advertise cheap when you get fall alert cost more. The type of necklace I had they didn't make any more but they have a wristband which you dad would probably like better. I have the Medical Alert they have you fill out emergency contact and in something happens they contact the person on your list and you can get emails when they use their service. Mine went up a few more dollars as they called for battery warranty. I have to test mine every month to make sure it works. Here is a link to best 5 top5-medicalalertsystems.com/homepage-bg/?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=bing&msclkid=879606fd1e3218cc06306627c093ffd7 Never hear of the ones in the lead but would suggest you see if there are reviews before getting. I know Di and Rosemarie have T Mible for cell phone service and they are not pleased with it. They don't use life alert. I don't wear mine when I am around people but at home when all alone especially when I take a shower or go downstairs for laundry. They do have a thing to install in your bathroom to push a button if you fall but if you have the wrist check to make sure water proof. My necklace is waterproof I wear it in the shower. I figure if you fall in shower you may not be able to reach where they put the button and they talk about a base. I don't use a base just the necklace it runs about $65 a month including the fall protection and battery warranty. Laura that is rough waiting on someone to move a heavy chair downstairs before you can move your tables upstairs. I have a desk chair that I want to move downstairs to go with the goodwill stuff right now it is in the computer room I don't think it is heavy but don't want to try and carry it downstairs and not be able to hold on to my handrails that is asking for a fail so will wait till Jerry comes around to see what stuff he wants to take to his house. Then he can put it with the stuff to go to good will. It will all have to come upstairs when ready to go to goodwill but the stuff I plan to take to Florida are in the bedrooms whereas stuff to get rid of downstairs. Leslie sorry that Toby growled and snapped at you when you tried brushing him that he snapped off one of you nails making it hard to type. Carol interesting you made jewelry but found it was not profitable so you quit doing it and taking care of your house, hubby and children and grandchildren and fur babies is certainly enough to keep one busy. I am glad I never had any children or adopted any after I see how how my sisters adopted children treat her. Granted all kids are not like that some are kind and understanding and take care of their parents but hers are anxious to have her put away so they can get the money her husband left her. The membership packet is just forms to be filled out in case of an emergency and what type of things we would like the Senior Center to be doing for us in activities we always had to fill one out every year they would bring it to us when playing bingo then we filled them out. They have exercises there in the Florence one a lady comes in and teaches painting, we had a lady comes once a month to go over our dietary what is good to eat. Silver Sneakers there too . Crafts hat making during derby time not crocheting or quilting classes though. Bingo, Card Games, Dominos . puzzles for people to work on puzzles. A pot luck during holidays. Today we go at 10 to pick up the packet then I want to drive to Dry Ridge and try that Beans Restaurant that Rosemarie said her and ladies from the senior center used to go to as it has large desserts. Rosemarie doesn't know I am planning that after picking up the packet but am sure she won't mind it. Will let her know I can take her tomorrow to get her hair cut as she said she needs a hair cut this way she won't wear her hearing aids. Hugs to all Dee, Tori & Dallas

Lisa the pictures are WOW! So colorful! Laura I find that interesting, cute and funny about the couple married for 75 years live beside each other. My hubby and I haven't slept in the same bed since 2009. We had the 4 doggies Walker, Sweet Alexandria, Molly and Pooks and even though it was a Queen size bed it did get crowded. So he went to the room we have for the grandsons with a full size bed. I also now have a full size bed and it's just inches off the floor because as dogs age they couldn't get up on the bed without having steps and bed lower. This has worked out well as I always get up earlier 1/2 - 1 hour than hubby. I always have the cats and dogs taken care of so then we have time at the breakfast table before he goes to work. We have cereal together and then I pack his lunch. Also I like to watch tv later then he can stay up. He is a big snorer and used to have a CPAP (breathing) Machine. Big dogs take up lots of room. And I sure miss them. Our old cat Cleopatra~Grace sleeps on hubby's bed. Carol & Pookah

More and more couples I know choose separate beds as time goes by. I think it is a smart way to keep both people comfortable.
Dee, how much stuff will you be giving away? It sounds like a lot. Think of all the people you will be helping!
Beans restaurant? Do they mean coffee beans or like, lima beans? I’d be afraid to take ladies with digestive issues there.

Good afternoon everyone! Oh Laura, I totally understand about Pippi being too heavy. The last couple days at the library, I have noticed when I carry a pile of books, my hips hurt me! Leslie, I am so sorry Toby bit you! That sucks you have to get him a muzzle, but it makes sense. Dee, what a nice surprise that will be! There was a place around here called bagels and beans. My dad was disappointed it was coffee beans and not the kind you eat! Carol, Chuck doesn't sleep with me, either. He sleeps out in his trailer with his dogs and I sleep in the house with mine! He says our relationship will last a lot longer that way! The Chihuli was a temporary exhibit. I think it was 6 months or so. But it was very pretty! One of our branches has an installation of his in its entryway. It's called The Sun and the Moon.

Leslie, slowly making more dents in the room to be set up as a guest room. When I get to the point of moving furniture up and down the stairs I will have to have help. The chair is too big to tackle on the stairs alone. Sigh. I've seen people use calming collars. Do you think anything like that would help with Toby? Does the vet have any other ideas? Dee, thank you for the information on the medical alert devices. I have not looked at the link yet, but will certainly check that out. It's good to know real people who have used them and what they think of the one they have. I know dad would like the fall detection option as I think that is a big part of his concern. He has been noticing changes in his health, and we are on pins and needles waiting to find out more about some of what may be going on. His physical therapy was stopped recently, and the tehrapist told mom and dad that he needed to talk to his doctor because he was showing multiple signs of Parkinson's disease. His PCP jumped right on that and scheduled dad for an MRI of the brain to compare to one done in 2016. That was last week. Those results came back and we had another surprise. Looks like dad has had a mild stroke at some point. An appointment has been scheduled with a neurologist, but sadly that isn't until late Oct. He's been scheduled with a cardiologist as well, and that appointment is a month away. His PCP is trying to get both of those moved up. So at this point we are not sure if he is dealing with Parinson's and a stroke, or what. Any way you look at it though, we are concerned about future health, and I think he has been concerned some about falls ever since the fall at my house three years ago. Hmm. I had been holding off talking about all of that until we knew what he was facing really, but I guess I couldn't wait until October. hehe. Sounds like the senior center has a lot of fun things going on. Can you suggest things like crochetting and knitting? Carol, I have a queen sized bed and with my two small dogs and two cats and me there isn't room for anyone else. So I can only imagine how crowded it would be with larger dogs! And snoring ... two rooms is much better. My maternal grandparents had separate rooms. As you and Leslie said, just makes everyone more comfortable. Leslie, I was thinking baked beans for the restaurant. Didn't even think of coffee, but that is a possibility, too. Lisa, I will give you sympathy or hip pain. I've got one that is getting very good at predicting a drop in barometric pressure. And with all the extra trips up and down the stairs lately I am feeling it. Hope yours settles down quickly. Where does Clarabelle sleep? The Sun and the Moon is beautiful! Wonder how much that weighs. I wouldn't want to be the person hanging it up or taking it down. I'd be afraid I would break it. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

I hadn’t even thought about hanging that sculpture till you mentioned it!
Funny, I have a referral to a neurologist or a neurosurgeon too. I wonder if I will have to wait until Oct for an appt?
Congrats on getting the guest room cleared out! I know what an accomplishment that can be. 😊
I don’t really have experience with muzzles. Does anyone know if a basket muzzle is OK? I like how much freedom they seem to give the dog.

Good morning everyone Happy Wednesday and Last Day of June Oops I thought I posted in this one must have been in another thread Carol I think it is so great that you and your husband spend breakfast together enjoy those days I so miss it with my Ward Leslie I am giving away my kitchen table, Fontan, coffee table, end tables, laps, a bedroom set, whatever I haven't used since I moved here some meat slicer, canisters, Jerry and Lisa will take their pick first what they can take to the camper or what their kids might need then haul everything to goodwill after that. All my cookbooks will take to good will. My old crockpot though still works given to Ward and me as a wedding gift but it is a small round one since my nephew gave me a bigger oval one the one Thanksgiving they came I put the old one in box to give away still works and putting toaster oven since I mainly use the toaster and microwave. Leslie don't know why they chose beans there were no lima or baked beans they were selling different bags of coffee but more a bakery had lots of homemade bread, breakfast bread, fudge, brownies, donuts, cookies, cakes. Maybe Beans is their last name it is run by a family. The food was good but not something great as Rosemarie made out and their eclairs and donuts were normal size as any bakery and she said they were huge. Maybe when she was so hungry when she went they seemed huge. They were selling homemade baked goods and tee shirts and coffee beans I bought 2 tee shirts with their name on it and some chocolate fudge. Rosemarie did not buy anything they were pretty busy for a Tuesday we placed and paid for our food did not take long they brought the food we ordered club sandwiches but we ordered shakes did not get them with our food they did not bring them till we were done eating Rosemarie asked for a glass of water while we were eating. The girl apologized when she brought them said they forgot about the shakes. The Senior Center is cutting back so doubt if they offer crocheting or knitting or quilting classes. They informed us yesterday when we picked up our membership packet they will now be opened 3 days a week instead of 5. Monday will be dominoes and exercises, Tuesday closed, Wednesday Euchre card game, Thursday Bingo. No kitchen will be opened so no shared snacks if we want snack or drink bring our own there will be an exception for Alice's 105th birthday party on July 15. We told her she better call Alice make sure she will be home then as she is in Pennsylvania. She said she would call Alice thanked us for telling her and if Alice won't be here the 15 they will do it the next week. They will open at normal hours so we will be able to play our card game before Bingo we don't play euchre some other card game. Today can't get the hair cut as Rosemarie said her prescriptions are being delivered from Walgreens and she has to be there to sign for them and has no idea what time they will come so I told her fine we can get our hair cut on Thursday. Lisa glad your air conditioner is working fine with that heat you are having don't blame you for not wanting Clarabelle to go to South Dakota alone with Chuck men don't watch the fur babies as well as we do would not want a bird flying off with her since she is small. Laura maybe your dad had that stroke and it caused him to fall. Ward had had mini strokes we were not aware of or I should say if he was aware of them he never mentioned them when I took him to have his eyes examined by the doctor that did my Lasik he informed us that Ward had had several TIA so when I scheduled an appointment with a heart doctor he could not believe an eye doctor was able to determine if he had a stroke. He was not just an eye doctor who examined eyes for glasses he did surgery for Lasik and other eye problems he was good. So I guess the cardiologist your dad goes to see will put him on blood thinners don't let them put him on Wafarin it is the worst what caused Ward to have his big stroke when he had to go off it for 5 days to have a bladder biopsy. Eloquis is better though more expensive but if your dad was in the military it would be cheap through the military Leslie I used a basket muzzle for Sabrina so she would not swallow acorns this is safer in my opinion in case she vomits wont choke on her vomit. It did not stop her barking and she was able to drink water just not get something in her mouth to swallow she shouldn't have. Hugs, Dee, Tori & Dallas

Hello everyone. I have to be brief because I have alot of work to do.
I loved those pics Lisa.
I'm sorry Toby bit you Leslie. How much do dogs bites hurt? I've only been bit by cats.
I actually looked up that Beans place Dee. I could go for some kind of coffee drink right now. A donut would be nice too.
I've wondered about medical alert things too Laura. I have not looked into them. I was afraid there for a while that I might need help because my knees were so bad. They are much better now. I got used to living alone a long time ago. I would like some company sometimes, but mostly I love my peace & space.

I got a lot of catching up to do!!!!!
Leslie, when Willy as to wear a muzzle it is a basket muzzle for the same reasons Dee did give you, it is safer.
It was Teddy's annual vet exam this week. His heart murmur got bigger, that was to be expected with time. We did talk about it with the vet and he will not get any medication for it. He is almost 14 years old, that is very old for a Border Collie, and the medication might only give his 2 or 3 months of life more but with unwanted side effects. For now he is a very happy boy, he eat well and old age could take him before the heart murmur does so we just have to avoid going for walks when it is too hot or avoid letting him stay in full sun when hot and not go for car rides on a hot day.
