Good morning everyone Happy Saturday and have a safe and fun 4th of July Anick what a horrible thing to happen a dog go wild bite your ankle won't let go and the police had to put it down that must have been very traumatizing for you. I hope the dog didn't have rabies for him to go mad. Glad you like dogs but just leary of that breed. Carol how nice that your son does a lot of the cooking in the instapot and that is good then you don't have to do any cleaning up. Glad you found things to use with it on Amazon and you look up recipes online. I like your attitude about animals. By the way wishing your angels Sweet Alexandria and Walker a Happy Birthday they are deeply missed, dearly loved, forever in our hearts. Sorry you burnt your hands from the hot instapot but all doing well now. Lisa my nephew gave me a ceramic thing that has like a night light and you put some wax in the top and it melts it and leaves a good smell get different types just don't leave it plugged in when leaving. I have it packed away now so will wait till in Florida. I spoke to my sister last night she is in Alabama now visiting my uncle the last living relative of my mom then she will head to South Carolina to visit her sister in law who had open heart surgery last month then back home then head to Columbus to visit her niece on her husband side for a couple days then to my house should be the 3rd week of July. Said when she comes will discuss when in August to go to Florida. Don't know how she is going to get a lot of work done on this house to prepare it for selling as she is bringing her one daughter who is mentally challenged and her 8 year old grandson but she did say she told them when she takes me to Florida it will be just me and her and the kids are not going which I am thankful. Hugs, Dee, Tori & Dallas

Thank you Dee for remembering Walker and Sweet Alexandria. All our critters have been such a blessing. I like any meal I don't have to cook LOL! But the rare times my hubby cooks I do clean up after him. Sometimes we all add something along to make a meal for us 3. Have a safe weekend all

Happy Birthday to Walker and Sweet Alexandria! Dee, wow, your sister sure is a busy one! Glad she can find the time to fit you in! And really glad she will be alone for the move! Chuck left this morning for South Dakota. I had to drive him to the airport. Got up at 3:00 so I'm really tired! He will be driving back. He's buying his mom's truck. Carol, I know what you mean! I do almost all the cooking and I don't mind, but having to plan for every meal can be exhausting!

Leslie, if you find out how pavement is the source of Toby's evil superpowers I think I would get some dragon hide gloves and use them to put booties on his feet before going outside. hehe My mom keeps wanting to bring things over to my house and I keep telling her wait at least until I have things shifted! I also keep telling her I don't need more in this house. The other day when I was telling her the plan for what was going where she kept saying I could buy a table for my craft room and leave the other one down stairs. I kept asking her where because I need the space where the table was set up to put a bed. She didn't have an answer, but would go right back to I could get a new table for upstairs. Arrrrggghhhh! I'm the same Leslie. I don't want to buy an air fryer until I know more about them. I keep hoping I will find someone who has one and tell me about it and how well they like it. Last summer when I had no a/c I used my crock pot out on the sun porch so it didn't heat up the house. I used it a whole lot. I didn't want anything adding heat to the house. Ohhhh, Lisa has an air fryer. I like the idea of being able to do frozen french fries. So what is the advantage of one? Is it just that it uses less oil? Does it cook things quickly? Can you do meats and they are moist? Hmm. Could I do kabobs in one? Hehe. I don't have a grill and I really do love kabobs. I guess my other question would be, how easy is it to clean up after you use it? Oh Lisa, I wouldn't be playing musical furniture or going through a lot of boxes without a/c either. I would say shut the door and pretend you don't have a craft room until December. hehe. Hmm. Fan for the craft room ... would that be like sitting in a convection oven to craft? hehe. Dee, what sort of things does Di cook in her air fryer? I'm really not sure what I would like to cook, but I keep thinking I might like to try one. Especially if it cooks things quickly, and the clean up is easy. I'm not big on deep fried things. So I wouldn't miss that. A snake?!!! SCREAM!!!!!! What a brave girl Dallas is. Glad it wasn't poisonous and glad she didn't get hurt. Eeek though! Anick, how scary about the Doberman. Thank you for trying to help keep a little girl safe. I'm glad it didn't turn you off all dogs. Carol, that is interesting. I didn't know you could use an Insta Pot as an Air Fryer. Stupid question ... is it always a pressure cooker? Those scare me a little. I'm afraid I will forget to do something and it will shoot the lit through the ceiling or something. Lisa, I'm glad Clarabelle will be staying home. I am sure that eases your mind. It would mine, too. Well, after helping mom and dad with their washer several times lately mom decided to replace their washer. Went with her today to go look at them and make a final decision. She picked one and we were surprised they said they could deliver it tomorrow or Monday. Since tomorrow is the 4th, and since a light fixture needed to be replaced in their laundry room if anyone was going to be able to see anything we went for Monday delivery. Hopefully this one will stay put. Next we bought a light fixture for the laundry room. Mom was talking about replacing three lights ... their laundry, their walk in pantry (which is large) and their walk in closet. Most of their house has old flourescent lights that won't come on half the time. So mom wants to change to another type of light fixture. She had been talking to dad about getting an electrician in since he can't get up on a ladder and do the work now. So we bought a light, took it to their house and dad talked me through changing it. Luckily it was a pretty quick and simple job. Now they are not only going to have me do the other two lights, but two bedroom lights as well. I'll have plenty of practice before doing lights at my house. Of course the one advantage to theirs is newer wiring. Combine washer shopping and changing out a light fixture (we thought we would see how one went before we bought more), and yard work this morning and I am pooped. Tomorrow I will work on taking more to the basement and clearing things I set in the kitchen as I was going through boxes and getting the house more presentable again. Ukulele buddies are going to try and come play here. It ended up not working out last time. So keep your fingers . Yesterday I did some sewing. Something I haven't done much of lately. I made the apron I had cut out before I took my table apart. I could have gone with a smaller size, but better too big than too little. I was happy with out it turned out. This week I've got a few different things going on and it is going to be a hectic week. I hope to make it here every day, but if I'm missing not to worry. It will be because I am pooped. hehe.

Oops. Looks like I forgot to look at another page of posts. I'm getting back about that lately. Dee, it sounds like your sister is getting in a lot of traveling. Does she like to be on the go like that? I hope when she does get to your house you will be able to get a lot done. Do you have a list of things you want to accomplish? Carol, I am like you. I like a mean I don't have to cook. I like a mean I don't have to clean up even better. hehe. How old would Walker and Alexandria have been this year? I'll bet there is a great party going on at the bridge. Happy Birthday to them both!! Lisa, I have to do all the cooking, too. Even if Pippi or Cheeky could cook or use the microwave I wouldn't really trust them not to eat my food before I got it. BOL! - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good morning everyone Happy Sunday and 4th of July Lisa my sister is about 4 years older than me and she does do a lot of traveling as she hates to be alone her husband died 2 years ago though in her house she is not alone her kids still live with her except the oldest Lorna who is married living in Jersey City. I hate traveling wish I could give up driving or have someone else drive me and the thought of driving by myself scares me with all the creeps out there. My cousin who lives in West Virginia wants me to visit her but it is a 6 hour drive and an 11 hour drive to my nephew in Virginia. I even quit driving a little over an hour to Dayton Ohi. My sister not going to have much time here at my house if she stops to visit her niece in Columbus Oh for a few days and my brother in Centerville Ohio for one day but she will come to my house before she takes my brother shopping told me I could come along I said no will stay home dog sit hate shopping enough I have to drive Rosemarie shopping all the time. Love the doggie bones you got for Sweet Alexandria and Walker. Laura I am not sure what di cooks in her air fryer I am not there when she cooks for her and bill. But she said she loves cooking in it. Carol it is nice that you help clean up if your husband cooks the meal. When Ward retired he had promised me he would have dinner waiting on the table since I still worked the first year he didn't and complained about eating so late I would get off work at 5 by the time I got home and fixed the meal we were eating at 6 pm so I told him you promised to cook the meal we could eat half an hour earlier so he started cooking and if he cooked I would clean up only fair. Found out yesterday some industrial place wants to build on the back field which means a lot of trucks going in and out and lots of noise hard to sell property once they build so they have a petition going around to sign to make it residential only I just hope my house sells quickly before this business does get in. Haven't heard from Jerry and Lisa since last week when she called to say they were going to camp and taking Chloe I guess they stayed there till after this holiday I do know with all this rain my yard certainly needs cutting. I am going to Rosemarie at 10 as Bill cooking us some hamburgers and his grandson Jason will be coming and Rosemarie called to tell me her cousin Lisa who she is going to California with in August is coming for lunch too first time for me to meet her. Hugs every stay safe but have fun Dee, Tori & Dallas

This is the Insta pot/air fryer/pressure cooker my son got it can do everything. You can boil in it, fry in it and bake in it. Very handy, but I still like to cook with a pan, skillet and over. LOL!! Happy 4th of July to all

Dee, I hope you can sell before anything industrial gets started. And I hope more the petetion works and it stays residential. I'm not happy about the development going in on one side of my neighborhood. So I can relate. I envy you the grilled burgers. That sounds so good. I have been craving one lately, but I don't have a grill. Enjoy! Carol, I was looking at some air fryers online last night and was surprised at what all some of them do ... air fry, bake, broil, roast, dehydrator, etc. Most of what I was looking at looked like it had a pull out drawer though. I think one had a door kind of like a little toaster oven. Is your crew back from OH, and did everyone have a lot of fun? How was traffic getting there and back? I'll bet a busy weekend for traveling anywhere. I've done a little around the house today. Should have done more, but decided to enjoy the holiday and cuddle more with the dogs and finish up a book. My kind of day. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Oh Dee, burgers on the grill sounds perfect for today! Hope you have a great time! Carol, mine can saute, slow cook, rice cooker and pressure cooker. I just need to take the plunge! Laura, the air fryer I have does cook . It is the drawer kind and you can just throw that in the sink, so easy clean up. It can do anything, even desserts. I guess the big attraction is that is doesn't use oil. Beef kabobsChicken kabobs

Hello everyone. I'm finally getting around to posting something. The only reason I am up is the neighbors are popping off fireworks, so I can't sleep. Thankfully I do not have to work tomorrow. I hope I can get some sleep because I am so tired.
All this talk about cooking... I generally like to cook. I will sometimes do it several times a day. I like cooking for myself because I can make it my own. I never follow reciepes. I have tons of spices I like to experiment with. I love cooking with garlic butter alot. It depends on what I am making.

Good morning everyone Happy Monday Carol that looks like a good instapot but am like you still like to cook with a pan and a lid harder for older folks to get with new gadget. Yes, did you family make it back safely from Ohio Laura I don't blame you for deciding to relax and cuddle with your fur babies. I hope people are not reading that about the industrial otherwise it may be hard to sell. The hamburgers Bill cooked were delicious I met Rosemarie cousin Lisa but she talked with her for quite some time before she finally introduced us. Then when Rosemarie went inside to set the table. Lisa said to me I hear you are thinking of moving back to Florida I said not thinking I am doing it I hate winters here she said they are not bad I said same thing Rosemarie & Di said when coming from Maine they are not bad but after living in Florida for 20 years they are rough. She had a nice talk talking with Bill seems they both worked at Conair at the same time never meeting but they know a lot of people. She has offered to get their daughter Tina a job where she works if she is interest they said they will tell Tina let her call Lisa. Lisa got to meet her second cousin Jason. When I got home Jerry was in the back yard cutting grass. I told him I thought he was still at camp since I never heard from them he said no they got back last Sunday. I asked him to trim the trees off my fence and he did. Then I asked when they are coming to look at the stuff downstairs he said he doesn't have room for it and I asked when he will come and clean my basement floor he said he doesn't have time. So hoping my sister can get the basement floor cleaned from dog pee it is a concrete floor. I tried cleaning it a while back no luck. Lisa it was an okay time listen to them talk about people they know and their back pain problems. The food was great. Ginger my neighbors shoot firecrackers off in the evening before dark but not during the day. I guess they are sleeping in after being awake late. Glad to hear you like to cook and never follow recipes. When I cook I have to follow recipes. Sorry to hear that Gail lost Toto on the 4th of July was not too long ago she lost Star. Hugs, Dee, Tori & Dallas

I wanted an air fryer until I found out I could do the same with my convectional oven, that did save me a couple of $. I never got a pressure cooker after seeing the result of one exploding....it did a pretty big mess.

Lisa, I had been looking up air fryer kabob recipes the other day. That beef kabob link was one I had looked at. Ginger, all this talk about cooking makes me hungry. hehe. It's still morning and I am wishing I had some kabobs. Sometimes I follow a recipe while cooking and sometimes I just wing it. I probably tend to stick with the same spices most of the time though. I have become a lazy cook. I want things to be quick, easy and easy clean up. Saw your post over in the field trip, but thought I would respond to some of it here. Sorry you didn't have more help at work. Were the others scheduled to work later than what they did? My sister was recently frustrated with work. Her department (auditing) was helping the accounting department with year end closing deadlines. Everyone had been assigned times they would be on call and told to watch for things to be assigned to them. This was the weekend before last and then evenings during last week. My sister and one other from the auditing department were the only ones who did their on call work. No one in the accounting department did theirs, so it was all reassigned to my sister and the other auditor that was being responsible and working. You mentioned overtime on the weekends ... does everyone get to decide if they want to do that or not? I have a neighbor that says where he works you can almost always get some overtime if you want it. That is nice, especially if you are needing some extra money for something. Then I have another friend that for months on end they were required to work overtime. At one point I think she had gone two and a half months without a day off. And this was pre-pandemic. She said the money was great, but that you need a break! I hope you are able to rest and take it easy today to make up for the stress and overworking. I also hope you sleep much better tonight. That alone can do a world of good sometimes. Dee, hopefully you are selling soon enough that the industrial site will not be thought about by potential buyers. I'm still craving a good grilled burger. Glad you got to have a good one yesterday. And glad Jerry was able to get the yard done and trim the trees back. I wish I had a Jerry to help. Good that you know you can go ahead and get rid of the stuff you are donating. Will your sister or anyone else want to come see if they would like any of it or will you go on and take it somewhere? Do any of the places around there come and do a pick up if you have a lot? For your basement floor you might try baking soda. I have not tried it on concrete, but have used it on other things. You could do some and get it damp like a paste and let it sit a while on the stains and then clean it off later and see if it helped. Anick, that is me with the pressure cooker. I've seen too many photos and they scare me. Here is a good example... Hmm. My toaster oven has a convection oven setting. Maybe I will try kabobs that way. I am dragging this morning. Fireworks kept me awake at first, and then once they stopped I still couldn't get to sleep. I just kept tossing and turning. And right now I could easily go back to bed! But much to do this week. So I had better get started. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good afternoon everyone! Ginger, I'm sorry about that. I hate not getting enough sleep. It is so hard to be productive at work when that happens! The fireworks around here were loud and scary, but didn't last too late into the night. That's cool you like to cook and have so many spices you use. My favorite spice store is Penzey'sI tend to follow recipes but then make my own little changes. Like using different spices or substituting chicken breasts for thighs or adding mushrooms, etc. Dee, I know how that goes! I hate to visit with people who talk about people I don't know. A few minutes is fine, but hey, can you include me please? Anick, that is so cool you have a convection oven. I think when I am ready to get another one, that is what I will go for. Laura, how scary is that! Now I am even more reluctant to try out my Instant Pot!! I hope you are able to get some sleep!

Good morning everyone Happy Tuesday/ Laura wow that picture of the pressure cooker exploding what a mess and mommy never got into pressure cooking because of things like that happening. Sorry you did not get much sleep because of the loud fireworks I will let my sister go through the stuff then putting it out for the trash. I was told Goodwill very picky about what they take in and they used to do pick up for big things but you had to put them out in the yard. They don't pick up here any more and I don't intend to make several trips for them to nit pick and have to come back home with things. Lisa sorry you were woke up with loud fireworks too it is rough trying to work when you don't have enough sleep. Anick that is great your convection oven does the same things as a air fryer so I totally agree why spend money to have a separate item when the oven does the same thing. at 4 pm I heard my garage door open got up to see it was Jerry and Lisa it surprised me after he said yesterday he had no time or room for the stuff. Anyway they cleaned the basement floor with bleach and comet still has stains but it is cleaned can't complain. Unless my sister says she can do better we will see. While here Lisa went through the stuff took a lot back home. I know why they changed their mind because while they were cleaning the floor Lisa asked me if I would watch Chloe this weekend I said yes she said will drop her off Friday evening. They took the bed down in the laundry room I have to dispose of the box spring and mattress they took the frames back home with them. When they were taking stuff out to the car the mean neighbors were in the driveway watching what was going on. Lisa also told me she is going to be a grandmother again. Her youngest daughter Lindsey is having a child due December 26 she said she had her first one 2 weeks earlier so this one may be born before Christmas not sure yet if boy or girl will find out on her next appointment. She liked the tee shirt quilt asked if I could make one for her and jerry with Ward and my tee shirts. I said I left all Ward's tee shirts at the nursing home. but will go through the bag with clothes before I dispose of them to see if there are any of his shirts in it. Today the Senior Center has the soft opening from 9- 11 and 1-3 no games just a meeting if anyone wants to ask questions about the way the Senior Center will be Hugs Dee, Tori & Dallas
