My oven can cook both ways, like a regular oven or in convection mode. Those ovens cost more but I got mine in a liquidation center and, because it as a very tiny bump on the side, it did cost the same as a regular oven. I almost never fallow recipes but I do write down what I did if something is good so I can do it again.

Laura- The Division Secretary had pre-approved leave for Friday. I don't know why the other Secretary left early for sure. It's probably because he wanted to hurry up & get the weekend started. Most people were gone or left early. Overtime isn't always available. Most people in my area are allowed to work it when available except for Secretaries. The only reason I can work Saturday's now is because I volunteered to come in to help with the mail.
Lisa- I looked up Penzey's. Wow, they sure have alot. You mentioned mushrooms. I love them! I try to find a way to incorporate them in most of my cooking.
Tori- Don't overdo it on the packing. I overdid it yesterday by playing too many games on my Nintendo system. I'm all sore again. I've got to watch the typing. That makes me sore if I do too much, so I am still keeping posts fairly short.
Willy- I bet seeing that thing explode was scary! I do have a crock pot. I have never used it though. I would like to try it sometime.

Dee, when I first saw that, I thought 4 in the morning, and I'm like what!!! Then realized you said PM. Duh! Glad they were able to clean the floor!! Speaking of cleaning, the soap dispenser here at work in the bathroom was empty, so I put a note on it to please add more (we have a cleaning crew.) They didn't, and took the sign down, so I wrote on it with a dry erase marker. They finally added soap, but the marker wouldn't come off! YIKES!
Anick, glad you were able to get a good deal on your stove! Who cares about a little bump? I sure wouldn't!!
Ginger, I love my crock pot. Here's a good, easy recipe to try. Brown some cheap cuts of beef, like round steak, throw it in the crock pot with sliced onions, sliced mushrooms and cream of mushroom soup. You can add beef broth to the pan you browned the meat in and get all the browned it, then add to crock pot, or use some beef bouillion and some water. Cook all day and serve over rice, noodles or mashed potatoes.
As for Penzey's, I love the Ozark seasoning and the Chicago steak seasoning, but I have found all the spices are fresh and flavorful!

I had never seen anything like that pressure cooker and what it did to the stove and the ceiling! The first time I used one I hid behind the refrigerator the whole time it was running. Later I got more confident when I learned to watch the steam vent on top. Still, I would rather use a crock pot. More good smells for a longer time!

Good morning everyone Happy Birthday Ginger mommy won't overdo packing when she gets hot she stops she does need to work in the garage and make room to put her stuff in there so a realtor can go through the house when she calls but so hot the morning would be the only time and she has to be at Rosemarie's in the mornings. When Di comes back she won't mind saying she can't make it. I love my crock pot but do more cooking in it in the winter time love how I can smell things cooking and not hard to clean up either Lisait wouldn't bother mommy if they came at 4 am as she is up at 2:30 am with us my mommy is an early bird and goes to bed early. Leslie I was always afraid of using pressure cooker after hearing horror stories how they explode. Anick I think it is so wonderful you can cook without using a recipe. Laura how are you doing today Marty how are things going with Toffee has he fully recuperated from his big boy surgery. Tori goes next Tuesday for her blood work for Cushings to make sure she is getting right dosage of medicine but I need to go to the vet today and get dog food for both of them After I leave Roseamrie Well the tag was in my mailbox this morning when I took trash out said iron on but I tried it doesn't seem to want to stick to fleece so will sew it on and then post a picture Also last night at 9 I was rudely awakened with loud fireworks sounded like right on my doorstep so I jumped up looked outside ready to tell someone to get off my property but no one was out I did not see anyone across the street or next door but those were going off real loud and sounded like on my porch. Yesterday went to the senior center to drop our membership packet off the hours were 9 to 11 and 1 to 3. The manager of the Florence YMCA Diana was there but no one else Rosemarie decided to sit and talk about all the good things she has done for Alice our 105 year old member and how the former manager Theresa lied about her to Diana and never apologized to Rosemarie and then of course listening to how she worked in a nursing home and would never put a loved one of hers in a nursing home she took care of both her parents and her husband would not put them in a nursing home. She was expecting Kathryn to come to her house at 11:30 so we left the center at 10 I decided to stop and pick up a sandwich at Kellys Q but Rosemarie said she had Kathryn coming I said no problem it is 10 and she is not coming till 11:30 we are taking to go not eating there so I stopped they told me the tuna was not ready would take 10 minutes I checked the clock said I will wait for the tuna and I wanted a float but the icr cream machine was down that is why the tuna was not made the boss was trying to fix the ice cream machine. So after getting the sandwich I was going to stop at my place pick up a Pepsi take it to Rosemarie but she was all panicky said Kathyrn said she might come early so I said fine I will drop you off at your house and go to my place get a Pepsi and come back to your house and wait for Kathryn. So when I dropped her off went home only two blocks away got my Pepsi got back to Rosmarie walked in the door and said it is just now 11 I told you we would be home in plenty of time and Kathryn is just getting out of her doctors office for her therapy. So 11:30 came and Kathryn still not there she ran into some traffic made it at 11:35 so I visited then at 12:30 said I was going home and Kathryn said she was leaving too I said no you can stay and visit with Rosemarie but she left anyway. I went to the grocery story to get me some lunch meat to eat and paper plates so I can pack away my plates and have something to eat on when my sister arrives. Di comes home Saturday evening so next week if I decide I don't want to go over there I will stay home but have to take her to Florence on Wednesday for Bingo and Bingo in Walton on Thursday. We have Dominoes on Monday. Hugs, Dee, Tori & Dallas

Same for me!!! I am sure Dee as no problem falling asleep at night!!!
I do use the crock pot often, mostly to do pull pork, stew or a spaghetti sauce. I don't care about the bump in my oven, no one can see it anyway where it is located.

I have never liked pressure cookers and have very rarely cooked with them. I had my mom and dads and also my grandparents and I donated them both! Now when I was growing up my parents cooked often with it. But I still prefer a skillet, pot and pan and oven and microwave LOL!! I'm old fashioned like that. I told my son, just give me my pots and pans and oven and I'll be fine. But he can cook anything he wants

I’m with you. I like pots and pans best. I don’t even have fancy no-stick stuff, just steel and cast iron. I have a pressure canner, but I haven’t had cause to use it for a couple of years.

Dee, I think you should tell Rosemarie how much it hurts when she says sh*t like that! Tell her she wouldn't have lasted a year, let alone six with all that you had to do and how when you made that decision, it wasn't easy, but it was the right one for Ward's safety! That woman makes me crazy!!! Ginger, happy birthday to you and Ringo!! Anick, I was thinking the same thing! The only part of my stove that shows is the front, so who cares if there is a bump! Leslie, I think it is cool that you know how to can! If I did, I would probably do much better at gardening! Carol, I had a pressure cooker a long time ago, but didn't use it much and have since lost all the important parts! I make do with the slow cooker, the pots and pans. Laura, how are you doing? We miss you when you don't drop in. I hope you are making progress on your house so you can have your uke buddies! Kathy, I sure hope you feel better soon! How is Stephen feeling? Marty, I sure hope Toffee is all recovered from his big boy surgery!! bertie, we haven't see you or your mom in awhile! Hope all is well!! Love to all! Lisa and the Wild Ones

Lisa, looking at the picture I think that is an old fashioned pressure cooker. I would like to think the Insta Pot is newer and safer, but still makes me nervous. My toaster oven has a convection setting. I have to admit I haven't tried it yet. Dee, sorry your Goodwill is picky. I don't know that they pick up here any more either, but there is a thrift store associated with veterans that does. Proceeds go to help veterans. There are a couple of other thrift stores in my area that I like. One is a Christian based organization, and their proceeds are used to feed the hungry and those in shelters. The other one is associated with some animal rescue groups and their proceeds go to help the animals. I tend to take things to that one. And the good news is they took everything and said they could go through it and if they didn't want anything they would deal with it. Bonus for me. Oh, I'm glad Jerry and Lisa were able to help with the floor, and were able to take and make use of some of the stuff you didn't want. How exciting that Lisa and Jerry are going to be grandparents again. Woo-hoo! I hope you can find some t-shirts for another quilt. That is nice that they would like the reminders. Anick, sweet on getting the convection oven for a regular oven price. Gotta love that. You are smart to write down your cooking experiments. I am bad not to and then try to remember after the fact. Ginger, Happy Birthday! I hope it's been a good one. Nice that overtime is available if you want it. I use my crock pot a lot. I really used it a lot last summer when I had no a/c. I would get it ready and then plug it in out on the sun porch so it didn't heat up the house. Worked out very well. And Leslie, you are right about enjoying good smells longer. Mmmm. Love that. Lisa, I first thought Dee meant 4 AM also. hehe. Doh! on the dry erase marker. I'll bet they are loving you. hehe. I have spices I inherited and should probably toss and start over. Some of them don't have much flavor. Dee, how long before Di gets back home? And how have things been going with Rosemarie while Di is gone? I hope Tori's bloodwork will look good when she goes next week. Hmm. I'm just now reading about dropping off packets at the senior center. You may have already answered my question about how things are going with Rosemarie. hehe. Carol, sometimes we are creatures of habit, aren't we? My sister is far more likely to use new and different appliances and gadgets than I am. Leslie, I'm with Lisa and impressed that you know how to can. Not something I have ever tried. Never tried making jelly either. My grandmother used to make muscadine jelly and I miss that. Well, ukulele buddies didn't make it this time either. My fault this time. I have been fighting a little bit of a sore throat, along with some coughing and sneezing. All probably allergies, but decided to err on the side of caution. So we are holding off again. This time we didn't even do zoom. This afternoon I ended up back over at my parents house. They still don't have the new washer installed. It was supposed to be installed Monday. It was delivered Monday, but they couldn't get the water valves to shut off. So the delivery guys had to leave the new washer sitting in the hall at the top of the stairs and head on to their next job. Meanwhile mom had to call a plumber and get the valves replaced - which was done in a couple of hours. Mom called delivery guys back, who said she would have to call the store back and reschedule. So she did and they were going to come out Tuesday. No one ever came Tuesday and late in the day mom called to check why and they didn't have her on the schedule. Grrr. So now they are coming Friday. Meanwhile, mom and dad have been trying to get some things done to put the washer on the right and dryer on the left this time. Their dryer no longer vents outside the house. The vent was such a long run with too many turns and we never could get it cleaned out well. They do a dryer bath now instead. My mom decided she wanted to cover the hole in the floor where the vent used to go. So I went to help with that. Dad wanted to help. Same story we are running into a lot lately. He really isn't able for what we were trying to do, but we don't have the heart to tell him he can't help. So it makes the job harder and take longer. I was able to sneak in and switch the dryer door to open the other way while he went to sit and rest a few minutes. So that will be ready once the dryer is moved to the left side. As for why dad couldn't really help with what we were doing - the laundry room is small and we were trying to work behind the washer and dryer. It was a very tight space, and what we were doing was down on the floor. So, not only did he not really fit back there (he's a big guy), but he can't get down on the floor and back up. As it was they somehow fenagled a stool back there for him to sit on, but then when he still couldn't really get to what he needed we had a devil of a time getting him back up and out of there. He has so much trouble getting up and down. And what he did manage to do was strip the heads out of several screws with the drill. I was able to use a larger hand held screw driver on some, but one I had to use a wrench and manage to turn it that way. Not fun or easy (or fast). But the hole in the floor is fixed, the new first part of the vent pipe is on the back of the dryer and the dryer door now opens to the other side. Before I left I did tell dad that his study would be the next light changed - hopefully one day next week. And now I am going to go prop my feet up for a bit. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Happy Birthday, Ginger! Hope it was a good one. 🎂
Laura, now I am exhausted after reading about your day. You and Dee put me to shame!
Lisa, have you tried a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on the dry erase marks? It takes care of a lot of stains you would never think it would.
G&G are going to be shopping for a new washer tomorrow. I hope this isn’t something going around!

Good morning everyone posting this then I will respond to all post. Yesterday I went to Rosemarie house at 9 am we just sat on her screen porch she was telling me she woke up at 3 am sick from her vertigo and I told her while having this vertigo where her balance is off she needs to use her walker she makes an excuse not to then around 11 she is saying she is sleepy I said I have to go to the vets to get Tori some dog food and will see her on Thursday when I pick her up to play cards and BINGO at the senior center and she can catch up on her sleep. Well Well around 3 pm Bill calls me on Rosemarie phone saying Dee Mom fell in the bathroom bleeding bad ambulance has been called. I quickly went over there she said she felt stupid and blood everywhere she wanted me to lift her up and put her on the toilet so she could go to the bathroom I told her I can't lift her the ambulance just pulled in they will put you on the toilet. They were there for half an hour checking her out. She had a small cut on the back of her head but did not need stitches all the blood loss was due to her being on blood thinner they asked if she wanted to go to the hospital she said No I wish she had any head injury with someone on blood thinner scares me. My dad hit his head on blood thinners my mom thought no problem dragged him to bed but he ended up in hospital bleeding on the brain and dying. I told Bill keep a good eye3 out and no matter what time call me. I did call back at 5 to see how she was doing she said her headache was gone but she was aching all over. She was upset Bill called Di afraid Di would cut her trip short. I told her Bill had no choice if he didn't she would be really upset with him. But at 5 she told me she had spoken to Di to let her know she was okay and not to cut her trip short. I am going over this morning at 9 but we are not going to go and play cards or bingo as the paramedics told her to rest a couple days. I cleaned the3 blood out of her shower as I know she would have been worried about that and tried to clean it up after Bill went to bed. Di coming home Saturday evening. I am going to visit her this morning at 9 but not taking her to Senior Center the paramedics told her to rest a few days. They said since she was coherent, knew her name, day of the week, where she was her birthday things should be okay if not call they will come back or I could drive her to the hospital. Did not get a call during the night so hope all went well.

Good morning everyone Happy Thursday Carol I am with you not liking Pressure Cooker I have steel pans I use. Anick I fall asleep around 7 pm but the last few weeks fire works wake me around 9 or 10 then harder to get back to sleep. Last night first time no fireworks went off but enough commotion going on at Rosemarie house during the day. Now she will learn to use her walker Lisa it would not matter to her if I told her it hurts whenever she brings that up she is all for herself. I love the cake you brought for Ginger birthday Leslie since you did canning you needed the pressure cooker for canning but I am glad you did not have any bad happenings using it. Laura I have no tee shirts from Ward except the Crystal Gayle one and one with name of Lawson that I gave him. All others left at the nursing home besides he was not into wearing much tee shirts. He usually wore flannel shirts or blue work shorts he picked up from salvation army. The senior center having Bingo today but we are not going since the paramedics told her to rest a few days. I contacted Christine who will be calling Bingo and explained to her what happened and we would not be there. Also Bergie who plays cards with us. Bergie leaving Friday to Michigan we won't see her for a couple weeks who knows I may be in Florida by the time she gets back. Mary coming to get her quilt on Tuesday I took down the tables this morning so they will be out of the way when I take the stuff I am taking to Florida out of the computer room and put them in the garage.
