The shawl and everything you make is beautiful Dee!! We have a mix of sun and clouds today. Had rain yesterday but it was steady and light. The leaves are starting to change more and are gorgeous!! Our furs keep us going and I am glad. Otherwise I might just stay in bed LOL!! Prayers for all, everywhere. Carol, Molly and Pooks

Laura and Leslie, hope you two are doing well as well!
I'm working in the computer room right now, at work. What a pain and kind of scary! We have to clean the keyboards with UV light after eachu se!

Lisa, I got tickled at the vet one time. Cheeky has a liquid medication - one she had taken fine until I got a refill. And then she kept spitting it out and would no longer take it. Called and talked to the vet. He said the medication comes in human form and vet form - same medication, just a different flavor. He had given me the human form so I could save money. They were able to add some beef flavoring and she would take it after that. What made me laugh at the vet - he said he tasted both the human and vet forms and he didn't blame Cheeky for not taking it. hehe. Dee, crochet sounds like a great thing to do while waiting on an oil change. Bet it makes the time fly by. Anick that is wonderful that Canada could send so many firefighters to help. I'm sure they were some welcome releif for some here. When we had the fire in Gatlinburg a few years ago I remember people coming from so many different areas to help. It was so heartwarming. Carol, the Dogwoods are starting to turn here. I just love fall colors. Lisa, how does that work cleaning with a UV light? Is that a black light? How close do you hold it and for how long? I find that so interesting. Wonder how someone thought to try that in the first place. Lately I have really been missing the Chinese buffet I used to eat at from time to time. I don't know if they are still doing a buffet or just take out orders. Even if they are doing the buffet I have to admit I'm a little nervous about that, but gosh I miss it! - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good morning everyone Happy Saturday Anick that is great your niece only has a cold and not the virus. Also nice of your fireman to help where needed I know when I worked in Florida at Ocala Electric whenever there were storms our linemen would travel to help put up the electric lines and the same for our firemen they would travel to help with the fires. Laura I get bored when I have to sit and wait for an oil change so I took my crochet along and the hour I was there got a lot done on the pocket shawl I am working on and came home and worked on it till 7 pm so maybe I can get it finished by next week. I had to restart my computer my shaking hands caused my keyboard not to type what I wanted the only way I can fix it is to restart the computer. Lisa maybe it will get cool enough for you to wear your hat and scarf or else you can set your house on cold and wear it inside Leslie how are you doing and Toby Marty so glad the medicine is helping Hershey chin and no more bleeding. Sorry the wine country you go to visit has burnt to the ground. Kathy hoping you and Stephen get your rest to help you through each day.

Electric workers often go down south too when there is a big storm. Only once that I remember help coming from everywhere to where I live, we don't get those big storms very often, it was in 1998 in winter, we had a monster of an ice storm and we did not have power for about a month and the temperature was around -15 F. I remember it was guys from Texas who did put the power back on where I lived at the time.
Dee, I guess I am about a month away from getting to wear the hat and scarf, I guess I am the one who will get to wear it the longest with my endless winters!

Good morning friends!
Laura, that's hysterical and what a devoted vet to taste them both!! Hee hee!
Marty, hope Hershey is doing well!
Dee, I usually take a book when I am going to be waiting! I am enjoying the one I have right now, The Wonder of Lost Causes by Nick Trout.
Anick, that is so cool that the Texans fixed your power. Seems emergency responders are so willing to help wherever it is needed.
Carol I love Fall weather! Enjoy!!!
Leslie, how are things in your neck of the woods?
I'm at work today. Doing the computer room. Yippee.

Dee, after hurricane Katrina one of my cousin's son went down to help. At the time he worked trimming trees for the power company here. He was part of a crew that went down and he said they worked some long, hard days down there. He has often talked about what a humbling and rewarding experience that was. Yikes Anick! I can't imagine no power for a month, especially with temps that cold. Do you have a fireplace or did you have another way to have some heat in the house? Lisa, I was surprised and had to work hard not to laugh at the vet. I had gone in to pick up the flavored meds and he came out from to tell me he had tried both versions of the med. He's a character sometimes. hehe BOL on your new look at work. I think it looks like you should have a chain saw. hehe. I still find it so facinating that UV light does anything to kill the virus. Got a little more sewing done today. Another dent in a project I unearthed going through things. At times it has been like Christmas at my house seeing what I will find when I go through boxes. I ran to Hobby Lobby for some wider velcro this morning. It was the first time I had been there in months and months. They certainly have less fabric there than they used to carry. I would like to think part of it was to give more space so people could social distance, but I am afraid it is more likely their revenue is down and can't afford to keep as much variety on hand. Other areas of the store looked more sparse, too. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Dee, I went over to FB after posting above. I hadn't seen your post there from yesterday. I was so glad though to see that you were able to go and actually spend time with Ward and not 6 feet away outside. I am still so sorry for your loss, but thankful you were able to spend time with him. I am also glad you have Tori and Dallas to help you through this.

Oh Dee my breaks for you! I know how hard this must be for you! But also relieved that his suffering has ended. And don't feel guilty about that! At least they let you spend a few hours with him! Hugs

Mine always want to head straight for my bed when they get out of the bathroom after a bath. hehe. Towel jackets keep the bed and furniture a little dryer. Tango is a cutie pie.

The news about Ward is very , thankfully the family did get to see him in a more normal way right before, it is good they did let them do that in all the things they did have the last few months. Laura, we don't have a fire place but we are very good at finding ways to make heat safely when we need too! It was not as hot as usual in the house but it was alright with a vest on.
