Attachment DeletedGood morning everyone and Happy Monday Lisa loved the picture of you in all your garb to clean computers. I like wearing the plastic face guard without the helmet I can see and it doesn't bother my ears. Laura I knew things were bad when the nurse called at 2 on Saturday told me they have arranged for clearance for Wards family to come inside and visit him. I contacted Jerry but they were in Georgetown 2 hours away so when he heard the news they left their kids and headed right to nursing home. I was there at 2:30 they got there at 3:30 we stayed till 8:30 pm. I asked the nurse as soon as she showed me the room can I touch him she said yes but we still had to wear our mask. I thought he was dead when I first walked in his mouth opened his eyes closed and he was so white. I robbed my hand across his cheek told him I was there. It was horrible see him gasp for his breath. They moved his roommate out so we could have privacy. I told Ward I loved him if he could see the light go for it as it would be far better place where he goes no more pain and suffering like here on earth. Each breath he took I prayed to God please take him don't let him suffer take him while I am here so he wont be alone in dying. But of course that did not happen in the plan. If I did not have to go home for Tori and Dallas I would have stayed by his side to be there when his time came but I had the girls they had not been fed. Jerry drove me home in my car Lisa followed so I would not have to drive in the dark. I make it easier I picture my Tiffany,Sabrina and AJ kissing Ward as soon as they see him. Their urns are going in the box with him. i go today to the funeral home at 12 to sign off for cremation I did tell the man I wanted to view him before he is cremated he said normally in cremation they don't embalm but a viewing has embalming I said the viewing would just be me, Jerry Lisa and his granddaughter. Christine called me from Virginia she wants to pay her respects said to ask the funeral director if outside people than immediate family can attend. I think they do military service for him since he was a veteran and she wants to attend that. If they don't use embalming we will have to view his body quickly will find out today. I have to go for a 4 appointment with my health insurance broker to determine what health Insurance is best for me for 2021 the whole time there Ward did not talk or open his eyes. Yes I knew he was going soon and I prayed for it but it still hurts so very much. He has not been with me for over a year in that nursing home so I am adapted to living alone but not a happy situation as I miss all the fun things we did and playing cards together, just sitting on the porch or in the gazebo talking and watching the birds with our girls after lizards in the yard. Now since I have moved here in 2016 Ward, Sabrina and AJ are all gone and who knows when Tori will be going with her disease but Dallas Ann will be here and when I see her I think of my cousin who also is no longer around when I lost my dogs I could call her and talk as she was a dog person and knew how much my dogs meant to me as we both were unable to have any human children of our our and now we have our fur babies as our children. I am going to be okay ladies but thank you all for your support and your kindness I would have gone bonkers if I did not have you all to talk to. Hugs, Dee, Tori and Dallas Ann

Dee, I really am glad you were able to go and be with Ward before the end. I'm so very sorry you didn't get to see and and be with him more this year. I can't imagine how frustrating that had to be. Even if Ward didn't open his eyes while you were there I am sure he knew you were there with him. And I have no doubt you are right about the welcoming committee he had in heaven. I hope all goes well at the funeral home today. That can be so emotionally draining. Will Jerry or anyone go with you? And do you want them to? (I think my aunt had more help than she wanted at the funeral home from family putting in their two cents on how arrangements should be done.) Know we are there with you in spirit. I am so glad you have Tori and Dallas right now. Hopefully both will be around for years to come. I'm sure they will sense your sadness and hopefully you will get lots of extra snuggles with them over the coming days. Carol, I have also slacked off some on wiping things down. I probably shouldn't as they say it may get worse again as the weather cools. I saw on FB yesterday that a lady I used to do dog walks with has a son (I think in his 30s) who just tested positive. Hopefully he will have a mild case and not a lot of trouble with it. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

I found that in PA, as long as the person is buried within 24 hrs, they don’t have to embalm. If family can arrive within 24 hrs, the funeral home won’t have to.

Dee, I am sending you big hugs.
I never stopped wiping surfaces and using all that hand sanitizer, I already was the kind of person to wash my hands about 20 times a day, an habit I took when I was working in restaurants.

Good morning everyone Happy Tuesday Leslie the funeral home asked if we were the only ones I said yes. Jerry and I went as Lisa was at work and Devan at school. They said the procedure is when the family comes in to sign the release for cremation they take the family to the deceased and let them spend the time with them. So Jerry and I were taken to the cold room where Ward was in a box covered in sheets except his ready said this is the box that he will be in when he goes to the crematory. I touched his face it was ice cold but he looked so peaceful no more suffering. I did not take a picture I do not want to remember just that picture since they want me to bring a picture of him on Friday, October 16 at 11 so they can give me a gift. She showed me what they give an 8 x 10 picture has a small picture of your loved one on left corner a beautiful background with a lovely verse. I was looking at all his pictures of things we have done his catching his catfish so happy holding them up, He was beaming when he made his first bird house for the birds. His working on building our garage, his smile when we were in Hawaii with my girlfriend and her husband. His smile when we went on the Riverboat Lunch Cruise with my girlfriend and her husband. Him just lounging around in lawn chair in back yard, him with Tiffany wrapped around his shoulder, him and Tiffany in the swimming pool. Anyway we have made the arrangements no wake or viewing just a small military service by gravesite on Wednesday October 14 at 10 am. Lisa has time to tell work she will be off and Devan doesn't go to school that day it is home online. They will put Wards picture up on their website I will put the link here when they let me know it is posted. Laura love Pippi's picture and yes Jerry went with me I asked him as I did not want to do this alone. He shocked me when he drove me back home and we got out of my car he came to me said I want to give you a and as he hugged me he said I Love You. This is the first time he has ever said anything like that to me. Today I have to take Rosemarie to Walgreens we are getting our flu shot and picking up all her prescriptions that are due then I need to come home and make some calls. Carol thank you for saying I am strong I have had to be strong growing up my family never supported me I got to wear I am on my own. My parents never said I love you or even give us a . My first marriage was a failure a very verbal and physical abusive man I dealt with that for 7 years then I met Ward complete opposite Christmas Eve would have been our 34th wedding anniversary. He was so kind and sweet and a hard worker. Thank you all for your kind words and support I will be bringing Tiffany, Sabrina and AJ urn with me on Wednesday October 14 to have them go inside the niche with Ward.

Dee, many, many hugs! That made me cry when you said Jerry hugged you and said he loved you for the first time. He knows in his heart how happy you made his dad and how much you took care of him for all those years! I loved reading all your happy memories! Laura, great picture of the Pip!!! I had it tied on the outside like you do, and then I thought, "Why not put it under?" Marty, Dee, Laura, Leslie, Anick and Carol, I want to say I love you all. times like these make you reflect on what is important!

Leslie, I wonder if other states have the same rules on embalming. Anick, I'm still washing hands plenty and using lots of hand sanitizer, but I am not wiping door knobs and things like that as much. Although I probably should. Dee, I'm sure this has been a tough few days. I loved reading about the things Ward did, and how nice that you have photographs to help remember those things. One thing that always struck me with pictures of Ward was what a nice smile he had. Lisa, I hadn't even noticed you had tied the jacket under. I had to go back and look. hehe Sometimes Pippi is good and waits for me to tie it and sometimes she gets inpatient. Lisa, I never would have imagined all those years ago when I stumbled onto the dogster web site how many wonderful people I would meet and the lasting friendships I would make - with people I've never met in person no less. Many started there, and then more have been made in sites and groups like this one that were an offshoot to try and replace dogster. My dogs have enriched my life in many ways, but I wouldn't have thought they would have done so online as well. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good morning everyone Happy Wednesday Lisa you are so right thank you. I love all you guys coming here makes my day worth while talking to friends I have never met in person but have known for years on dogster. Laura I have not been washing down doorknobs either. Maybe besides wearing mask outside we should wear gloves too I know I use gloves when pumping gas. I love the pictures I have of Ward and the things we have done together through our 34 years of marriage. Today I have the online services for my Aunt and Uncle, Cindy and her husband Tommy in New Jersey by facebook starts at 10:30. So I told Rosemarie was not coming to her house today. I have to go to Post Office at 8:30 to mail out the pocket shawl to Jenny I finished. Hugs to all Dee, Tori & Dallas

Dee, I was saying before that Ward has a great smile, but you do, too. Another nice shawl. You just zip through those! Today I went and played outside at my ukulele buddies' house. First time we have played together in person since February. Certainly better than zoom and I enjoyed it, but I have not missed the commute there and back. hehe. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good morning everyone Happy Thursday Yes Anick we have created good friendship through dogster helping and supporting one another when we lost a beloved fur or family member. Laura is the commute to the ukulele buddie a long one since you said you did not miss that but loved getting together outside of zoom. Lisa how is everyone in your household Marty how is your neck of the woods still getting a lot of smoke and how is Hershey Kathy hope you and Stephen are doing okay. Talked to Lisa and Jerry for a little while and they are going away tonight till Sunday for camping and relaxation with their neighbors they are taking their dogs. But Lisa said it may be cut short I asked why she said Jerry got a call from his mom's nursing home she may not may it through the weekend. Going to be rough on him if she dies as his dad dies and the following week his mom dies. However he will have to make all the plans for his mom burial. I had everything made for Ward just needed to sign off and asked him to go with me to drive as I would be too upset. Leslie how are you doing with your eyes and BP and Toby Hugs Dee, Tori & Dallas

Good afternoon pals! The thing that bothered me most about the demise of Dogster, was everyone scattering in different directions! It's why I belong to too many sites. I can't quit any of them because I have friends in all of them! Dee, hugs for Jerry on possibly losing his mom, too. In a way, he lost both of his parents a long time ago. Laura, you are right! Ward and Dee BOTH have great ! No wonder they fell in love! Glad you got to go play with your uke buddies!! Anick, I made so many great friends on Dogster and Catster. I actually got to meet a couple in person. One of them, Janice (Ebony and Mr Kitty) passed away from cervical cancer. I am so glad I got to meet her, but darn, I miss her!! The other one, Freddie Bear's mommy was on this site for a little while, but had too many problems, so we only see them at The Tanner Brigade. Leslie goes to that one, too! Hope everyone is having a good week! We are finally getting out of the triple digits! Woo hoo!!
