Kathy, good to see you here. Good for you for having the strength and the courage to get out of an abusive relationship. I know many don't. Yikes on the eye for both Kathy and Leslie. That makes my eye hurt just thinking about it. You should see me half covering my eyes as I read this. hehe Dee, I am so glad you now have a sense of peace about Ward. I had never seen a military funeral service. That was lovely. I think I had seen something on facebook about them putting three of the shells from the 21 gun salute into the flag. What is the significance of that? I didn't realize they did that. Anick, I mostly go to FB to play mindless games for a little bit and clear my head. hehe. I posted about Cheeky over in Barks & Woofs. I think she may have had a little seizure last night. I'm glad it didn't last long, but it sure did worry me for a while last night. She seems her normal self this morning. Has anyone else had experience with seizures? I'm thinking that is what Teddy had recently. So far I have not called my vet and can't decide if I should. Mostly I have been in a wait and see mode. I am hoping it was a one time thing. Anyone who has dealt with them just wonder if you could tell me things I might need to keep an eye out for? - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

My brother had a dog with epilepsy, and he had seizures many times over the years. For him, they were not dangerous. After they passed he would be tired or queasy for a while and then back to normal. Over the years I have talked to parents whose older furs have had isolated seizures without any lasting negative side effects. It might be good to call and ask the vet, though, just to be safe.

Afternoon, Ladies~ Oh Leslie I am so sorry to hear you are having eye issues also. Does that have to do with the BP? Mine all begin with Cataract removal. Well, this was the first time my eye actually flipped Laura. It was scary, very much. It went back in place as I was freaking out. And yes, it hurt, felt like throbbing like and I laid down for a bit with my eyes closed. Dee, looks like a very nice funeral. I think those three shells being put into the flag represents the halt between wars, as they gathered up their dead. 17th century maybe? I just don't know if they still do that. I don't remember seeing that at my daddy's funeral. It amazed me how accurate and careful they fold our American Flag. Laura, I have mindless games I play, but not on FB. I have done that before though. Sometimes they get way to difficult for me to play, but I like Match Three and the mini games. I can make it all big enough to see. But my eyes tire out easily and very quickly. I have never experienced any seizures for any animals, but maybe you can video it and show the vet? I know how much you worry, as do I about our babies. Purrs and love to Cheeky. More hugs for Dee. Carol, is it very windy where you are? Our winds have been incredibly strong lately, make those feel like temps even colder. It's 50* now but went down to 33* last night and later on, even upper 20's so freeze warning. Hey, I got my laundry up the stairs and put away today! hehe and got garbage bagged up cause tomorrow is trash day. Stephen is having potty troubles once again and will discuss his sleeping and potty problems with his PCP come next month. His pre-surgery is Monday.

Hello ladies!! Oh Kathy, on the eye flipping! Sounds painful! I hope it is not hurting now that it has "unflipped!" Leslie, gosh, I hope your eye problems are just from the BP and will go away soon!! Laura, I am so sorry to hear about Cheeky! Do you know Lori and Rascal on Facebook? I think Rascal has seizures, so maybe you can talk to her about it? Marty, Carol, Anick and Lorrie, hope you will all stop in soon! We found this on the VA page: When a side had successfully removed their dead, they fired three rifle volleys to signify the continuation of battle. When the honor guard is finished with the volley, they generally fold three shell-casings into the flag before presenting it to the family. Good morning everyone Happy Friday Lisa you are correct the funeral director asked if I wanted the 21 gun salute but in searching I saw the same thing you did just shooting 3 volleys These shell cases symbolize that the deceased received full military honors. The flag is then presented to the flag recipient on behalf of the president and the branch of the military in which the deceased served. 21-Gun Salute. However, at most military funerals what many mistake for a 21-gun salute is actually an honor guard team firing three volleys from rifles. This tradition comes from traditional battle ceasefires where each side would clear the dead. The firing of three volleys indicated the dead were cleared and properly cared for.Inside this flag I place three empty cartridges.
One is for Duty.
One is for Honor.
One is for Country." They are to stay in the flag
Laura I read that in the bark thread where Cheeky had a slight seizure you should let your vet know. We are hoping he doesn't have any more. Kathy sometime I will have to have cataract surgery and I hope I don't have those eye problems you got since your cataract surgery. Carol how are Pooks and Molly doing Anick how is Teddy and Willy doing Marty how is Hershey doing Dallas had 5 teeth pulled yesterday he gave her an antibiotic injection and I was to start the antibiotic pills today half every 24 hours but she ate when she came home yesterday but today she did not want to eat I had to fight her to eat a piece of cheese that had the antibiotic pill in it to help her and am hoping she did not spit it out. I will see if she can eat before i leave at 9 to Rosemarie where I will play games till 10:30 when I have to leave to go to the funeral parlor to pick out the design for Ward's name plate after that I will stop by his grave before coming back home with a pit stop at the vets to get Tori's food and flea and tick medicine and cushing medicine. I am glad my sister paid for Dallas vet visit yesterday it was $1,048.
Leslie we are hoping your eyes get better

Kathy, I sure hope your eye flipping up like that will be a one time thing. Hope Stephen's PCP will be able to help with everything on his list. Do you know when his surgery will be? Hate that he will have to make that trip twice - once for pre-surgery and once for surgery. Thanks for looking that up about the shells in the flag Lisa and Dee. I learned something new today. Now the real challenge ... will I remember it? hehe. Interesting to me though to think they would do a cease fire to collect the dead and then signal to the others that battle can resume. Don't you wonder how something like that gets started? I do know Lori and Rascal on FB. I'll reach out to them. So far I have seen no more signs with Cheeky. I'm really hoping it was a one time thing. I have not contacted the vet yet. At this point I figured I might wait to see if anything happened again, but I also thought I would check with friends to see what they have experienced or know. I'm sorry Dallas had to have some teeth removed. Hope her mouth will feel better and she will feel more like eating later in the day. Yikes on the vet bill. I'm glad your sister could cover that, too. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Evening Ladies~ Laura, today Stephen got a letter in the mail from University Hospital and it said that his 'surgery' will be on Tuesday. He will stay overnight Sunday Night, so he can be at the VA on Monday morning for pre-surgery. Well, then, today is when he found out that NOW he will have to stay over Monday night also. Hope they pay for that night too. I so hope they remove that tubing, it bothers him so much at times. Dee & Lisa thank you so much for all that information. It is very interesting and I too, would like to know how all that stopping in mid war got started. But love all the honors it represents! Dee, what happened to me usually doesn't happen. I was considered high risk, only because the Doctor that performed the surgery on my left eye ended up using another doctors equipment, and my eye filled up with blood, and after four surgeries, the outcome was blindness. I had three surgeries in my right eye, due to detached retina and macula hole. It closed, but because it's in the middle, I have no central vision. That was in Texas. Lisa, the eye flipping no longer bothers me. I think it was a fluke and I need to be more careful when washing my face. Dee, I am so glad your sister paid for Dallas' Vet bill. That seems a bit expensive~ So it's early mornings both Monday and Tuesday, 7AM sharp at two different hospitals, for Stephen. It's ok, I got me a BIG box of large croissants 'n some Panera Broccoli Cheese soup~ some snacks, so I am good~!

Kathy, I'm at least glad that Stephen won't have to make that trip twice. Surely they will pay for both nights. I sure wish it was closer. Keeping my fingers that it will be to remove the tube, and that there will be no complications. Off to a chilly start in the house this morning. Time to finally replace the HVAC system in the house. I think I have put it off as long as I can. In looking back through notes I made when it has been worked on in the past I would say the bit that is inside in the basement is probably 27 years old, and the control board on the outside is 19 years old. So I don't think it will make sense to see if anyone can make it limp along a while longer. Time to shoot it and move on. I've got a couple of places coming Monday to give me quotes and another calling Monday to schedule a time to come out. I dread it, but will be glad once it's over. The house has never done a great job on the upstairs. So I am hoping they can help that in this process. I made lots and lots and lots of trips up and down the stairs to the basement yesterday. I was trying to get things more out of the way for when they do come to look and replace things. If I would do the stairs that much a few times a week I might get into great shape. hehe. Got down into the 30s last night. So I was happy that the house only got down into the 60s. Not bad for no heat. I've got a little heater going this morning to take the chill off. I tend to keep the house on the cool side in the winter anyway. I'm a cool weather person. And can I just say that I slept well last night! I sleep so much better when it's cool. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

I did not get to see the video yet, I just got back my computer and my tablet was not very good for any videos on FB, I don't know why.
What is HVAC?
We are getting colder each day here, even had some frost one morning, I am so not ready for that!
