Good morning everyone Happy Sunday Leslie great to see you and Toby yeah mommy doesn't like that Heeler when she took Dallas over there for Lisa to see since she never made it to mommy's house she had to hold Dallas up high as that dog came charging but did not snap at mommy then but from then on mommy would not take her dogs over there. Leslie mommy already started on this pocket shawl she ordered from Hersherners something like that. It came with the pattern and yarn but I had to do 273 chains and working single crochet and double crochets looks like it will be a shell pattern so tiny having to do pattern with H hook and I did a swatch but it was more than the 4 inches so went down to a D hook did another swatch still more than 4 inches decided to go back to H hook as D too small for me to work with I just ordered more yarn in case I run out while working on it. It is all one color a navy with silver in it called Twinkie I am doing it for my friend Patti her birthday just past October 1 she lives here in Kentucky I gave her the quilt that I made from a and this is the first time using a to do a pocket shawl so will give it to her also. Will post a picture when done Lisa sorry to hear a friend of yours her dog was killed by an off leash dog I think if an off leash dog killed my dog my angry would go up and I would kill the attacking dog even if it meant I got bit. Lisa which hand is being operated on it is your typing hand we won't be seeing you for awhile our prayers for a successful surgery Kathy and Stephen we are you are both feeling better Carol saw in the other thread the the pills helping Pooks and I pray they continue to help him Marty for you and Hershey Anick how is Teddy doing and thank Willy for bringing all the delicious breakfast Laura hope things are okay with you Pippi and Cheeky Hugs Dee, Tori & Dallas

Many people around here also let their dogs loose. They are usually small dogs so they are not really dangerous for my boys but they can be annoying and they put themselves in danger when they dash across the streets to come bark at my boys.
WOW!!! Dee, I am impress at the speed you are working at!!!! I did start to crochet a cardigan about 2 months ago and I am not even at halfway yet.... The hook is size D but I did get one with a big handle, much better for the hands. The yarn I am working with is very fine (socks/fingering), it will be a light cardigan to wear inside or the summer evenings.
It is getting cold fast here, only 35F this morning, and the trees are getting naked fast.

Lisa, hope all will go well with your carpal tunnel surgery. Nov. 2nd is coming up quickly. Are you having one or both hands done? I had a friend that talked her doctor into doing both hands at one time. She found afterwards she had to have help with everything and I do mean EVERYTHING. She said the worst part was having to have help going to the bathroom. Dee, another beautiful shawl done. Have you made one for yourself? Saw your temps in another thread and sounds like you are going to need one. I'm sorry Lisa and Jerry didn't invite you for the birthday celebration. On a side note I am getting to where I don't like to drive after dark any more either if I can help it. I am glad the neighbor's dog didn't hurt you. So much could have happened. Thank goodness it was just your pants. BOL Leslie! I think people might pay not to eat my cooking. Hehe. In my case I don't think that I am a bad cook. I think it is more that I just have different taste than a lot of people. Boy my emotions have been all over the place today. On the one hand I am so happy because Cheeky has made it to another birthday. Last year I never would have thought that possible. I didn't even think she would make it to last year's birthday. So I am happy and grateful for that. She has been so spunky the last couple of mornings, too. It's fun to watch her feeling good especially after hearing her breathing while she is sleeping. At times you can hear a lot of crackling in her lungs. I still know she is living on borrowed time, but for the moment seems to be doing well and holding her own. Then on the other end of the spectrum I'm worried about Pippi again. I did manage to get her medicine down her this morning, but she has had no interest in anything else. She has mostly slept. I would love to see her eat a little dinner or at the very least I would like to see her drink more. Mostly I'm just letting her nap and snuggle though. I needed a day with more time to sit and read a book and curled up with the dog or two. She was to have a follow up visit this week, but had been thinking later in the week. I'll be calling in the morning and getting her on in sooner. They are always good to work us in, so I will be surprised if they don't see her tomorrow. I have not taken her temp, but I do think she feels warmer than Cheeky. So wondering if the fever is back. I am hoping that it could be as simple as just the antibiotic making her feel queasy or something like that. If it's still the infection it is discouraging to think Pippi would be worse again before finishing off the anti-biotics. I'm hoping she will be tempted to eat some dinner, but we will see. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good morning everyone Happy Monday Anick my neighbors have a small dog Shitz shu not sure if spelling that correctly and it is a pain in the butt he kept coming in my yard with the other fence and he tries digging to get in under this privacy fence has my girls going crazy and at times when I walk out to the mailbox he comes running out of his yard barking and snapping at me. Anick this yarn is tiny than the normal worsted weight yarn and my eyesight is why I don't like going to smaller needles hard to see the stitch I am trying to go through especially when the yarn is a dark color. Laura sorry you have mixed emotions with being happy Cheeky has made it to another birthday and said that Pippi is not eating like he used to and lays around we are for him. Kathy and Stephen you both are in our prayers Carol you are in our prayers with Pooks and Molly Marty you are in our prayers with Hershey Lisa you are in our prayers with Tango I just printed out the waiver and preflight instructions and directions that Gentle Breeze Hot Air Balloon sent me to print out and review before our ride on Friday and sign the pre flight briefing and waiver www.hotairballoonrides.com/Hugs everyone Dee, Tori and Dallas

Dee, I do need extra light to work sometime and I did use a magnifier for the chain link part, I was not seeing them right. It got cold enough yesterday that I did wear your hat and scarf to walk the boys, I was all nice and warm!!!!!
Laura, it is the hard part with having older pups, look like there is always one of them not feeling right and when they all do we worry about what could go wrong next. *hugs*

Dee, I sure am getting excited for you for your balloon ride. I can't wait for Friday and to hear about it. I hope the weather will be perfect. Have you looked at the forecast to see? I have not called the vet yet. After not eating all day long yesterday Pippi finally ate something last night. And she ate and ate and ate. She ate okay this morning, too. So at this point I will wait until later in the week when it should be time for the one week follow up. I'll keep an eye on her until then. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Good evening everyone! Laura I sure am glad to hear Pippi ate so well last night and you don't need to take her back to the vet too soon! Anick I definitely hear you about the older pups! Glad too that I have discovered Tango eating the kibble I leave out! Dee sometimes those emojis make it hard to understand what someone is saying! Is that cat s c r a t c h? I'm so excited for your balloon ride on Friday! I'm really glad Jerry and Lisa are going, too! Leslie, I know you have a limited diet. What is your favorite thing to eat? You can do veggies and fruits, right? What about pasta, bread, meat, poultry, sugar, etc? I'm only having one hand done. The right and yes, I'm right hand. But I really need them both done, but for the reason you said, Laura, just doing the one for now. I'll probably be pretty limited in what l can do with the one for a couple days, anyway. Will post when l can!

Laura I sure hear you. With older doggies you can worry a lot. Yes Pooks is doing way better. Sunday he was up at it! Spent a lot of time walking around inside and out. Also just sitting and laying around with his head up (he can't see) and listening to everything. Every time I think Pooks and Molly are down for the count they rally and are ok. All the prayers, good thoughts and tears do really help. Love to you all heart

Good afternoon everyone! Dee the weather stays clear for your balloon ride! Anick, yes, I am pretty clumsy anyway, and being forced to use the left hand will only make it worse, I'm sure!! Carol, I am so glad to hear Pooks is doing so well!! I edited my above post so if anyone wants to go back, it actually makes sense now! Hugs and love for all!

Lisa, I think you are sensible to only have one hand done at a time. I remember thinking when my friend had hers done that I was surprised the doctor would agree to do both at the same time. Hope your surgery will go well and bring you lots of relief. Dee, yikes on a blizzard! I hope not. Especially not before your balloon ride. We're expecting a couple of days of rain here and the temp is going to dip some, but I hope not too much. Still no new heat pump, but hopefully about to be on track and maybe installed next week. I would think Tori running, eating and being active is a good sign. It's hard not to worry sometimes though. Carol, it's like a roller coaster ride with older pups health sometimes, isn't it? So glad Pooks is doing well right now. Love it when they respond to medication and diet changes and you can see that difference. I called today to make Pippi's follow up appointment. I was shooting for Friday, but the vet I like isn't working Fridays right now. So we went ahead and had the recheck today. She got good report and he wasn't too worried about her not eating this past Sunday. We'll keep up with the Rimadyl and antibiotics and just keep an eye on things for now. - Laura (Pippi, Cheeky, Inky and Nimbus)

Well, Pippi's health certainly seems to be a roller coaster right now. After a couple of good days and a good report from the vet yesterday Pippi has been having a rough night. She was up from about 2am to a little after 4am. She's finally getting some rest after vomiting, but her breathing is still hallow. I think I see a nap in my future today. hehe
